Avatar n tn About a month ago I noticed nitrates were testing positive on the strips (Only +first morning urine), I had no symptoms of a UTI and I did nothing. Then a few days ago my urine appeared green and was testing for blood, leukocytes, protein (I always have this), and still the nitrates(Now positive at any time of day tested). I then began having urgency issues as well as right side flank pain. I went to the Dr. and she said my urine was a mess.
Avatar f tn My Fiance and I had 1 night of rough sex, and the next morning I awoke to the horrifying odor of my urine smelling of rotten eggs! I've taken an at home urine test and it is positive for both Nitrites and Leukocytes. What am I to do now? Is there an over-the-counter drug to treat this? Will rough sex always cause this to happen to me? This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/662396'>Swollen lymph node</a>.

Avatar f tn Protein, glucose, leukocytes, ketones, etc
Avatar f tn t have insurance and money is extremely tight, so instead of what I knew would be a $200 trip to doc in a box and a prescription for antibiotics, I chose an otc urine test strip. It showed leukocytes but no nitrates. I am a 51 year old woman, excellent health, peri-menopausal and have had no period during this time. Since I have had no urinary frequency, no fever, no other symptoms, I decided to try the natural-path route.
Avatar f tn e and they changed me to docyline and after a 5 day course i felt better, as i came off the AB i checked my urine and the leukocytes where still there however lower and protein blood had gone. I submitted my urine sample to doctors and was glad to be off AB. However two days later the symptoms returned and nausea flank pain and also diarrhoea. I went back to doctors who advised i had not cultured any bacteria and didnt need antibiotic.
Avatar f tn 4, my white blood cells in urine, my iga antibodies were elevated and my leukocytes were high in urine. My ketones were a 5 in urine also. Mind you I am not on a keto diet at all. My kidney function and liver function blood work is all normal and doesn't show anything wrong. I sometimes get pains where my kidneys are but it goes away within minutes. I get to see my doctor on Friday and want to ask for additional testing but not sure what.
Avatar f tn t be alarmed but you should work with your doctor to investigate further. WBC 2+ likely means you have some type of infection. Leukocytes were found in your urine. Ketones at 2+ are still okay but any higher, that's protein in your urine indicative of diabetes. You are still in the normal range. The Uro part of the test is checking your liver. The 2+ number does indicate something going on you need to talk to your doctor about. It's possibly indicative of hemolytic anemia.
Avatar f tn ( protein and leukocytes in urine and blood pressure borderline high :( hopefully be a fluke and will be fine
Avatar n tn I frequently use urine test strips to test my urine when I feel unwell that may be waterwork problem. Have had kidney stone surgically removed in the past. Nitrite on the stick will mean that it is a bladder problem - usually Cystitis. Positive leucocyte reading on the stick with or without signs of protein, usually means that there is a bacterial infection. If the doctor said you have a uti (urinary tract infection) this is anywhere from the kidneys down.
Avatar f tn I've been noticing on and off foamy urine during the last six months. I don't have any other difficulties with regards to urination like pain, blood etc. I had my urine tested 5 months ago and the results were normal. I again tested recently and the results are below. Could someone please give me some guidance on what could be the reason? SG: 1.
Avatar f tn However I do have protein, leukocytes, and microscopic mucus threads in my urine, obvious UTI, but thought it was relevant. I also have a history of chronic UTIs (and other infections) as well as kidney stones, and a liver mass. I know that this is a lot of information, but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thank you!!!
Avatar n tn The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
Avatar f tn I just used the Otc strips that test for NIT, or LEU, and my wbc was a little positive. My doc is out until Monday and I've had this issue since being treated, I had a nurse tell me it could be inflammation from the infection causing the urgency and wbc in my urine.
