Avatar f tn What's the difference between a trace of protein and 1+ protein? 2 seperate tests - one was 1+ 2+ 3+ the other was trace 3++ etc. A few weeks ago at my obs apt I had 1+ and ongoing since my last test strip. Well today at the regular docs I tested and it was a totally different dipstick which only read trace. Do they even out to be the se reading?
Avatar f tn At the doctor yesterday, they found a trace amount of protein in my urine. I hadn't eaten any protein, but I have another appointment on the 10th when they will check again. The doctor wasn't too concerned at this point. Anyway - I'm just curious if this has happened to any of you, and how did it turn out?
10314769 tn?1409238579 I had a trace of protein in my urine and the Dr wasn't worried at all she said as long as its just a trace, its not a big, sometimes that happens from skin particles around ur vagina. They are only worried if they find a specific amount but she said a trace isn't anything to be worried about.they found a trace of protein when I was 36 weeks I'm 38 weeks now and just went to the Dr today and baby is healthy with no issues.
Avatar m tn Hello, Pus cells are indicative of infection while albumin in the urine represents protein in urine or proteinuria. It can happen due to renal causes or other causes like infections, sarcoidosis, multiple myeloma, and SLE. I suggest you to get an evaluation done from a urologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn ( cant find any. My urine test was done at a labratory not in the doctors office.
Avatar f tn I went to my check up today, im 9 weeks 6 days and nurse took a urine sample and dipped the little stick in it and said i had a trace of protein.. Is it normal to have this early? Anybody experience this?
Avatar f tn Anyone else have trace protein in their urine late in pregnancy? I'm 39+4. Just worried about developing gestational diabetes very late in pregnancy. Anyone ever here of this?
Avatar f tn I was to see my doctor today and had yet another dipstick test come back showing a trace amount of protein in my urine. This has been happening off and on for about 3 years now. This got me thinking. When I was a teenager about 15 years ago I had kidney stones that had to be blasted. And it has me thinking maybe theres something wrong with my kidneys or maybe the kidney stones caused some damage that result in the kidneys not functioning well. Is that possible?
6498330 tn?1389709379 Hey.... i had clinic yesterday and the nurses were like they found a trace of protein in my urine.. am currently 7 months pregnant and would like to know what that suppose to mean? Is it something bad? Or normal?
Avatar n tn Even a mild urine infection can cause traces of protein in the urine ie protein is found in blood and with a uti it is common to have a small amount of blood in the urine - hence trace of protein as well. have a urine test done to outrule infection and have your kidney function measured by a simple blood test ;) re the altter ie blood test, even one poor egfr can also be the result of a uti!!!!! you need to show a steady pattern of poor egfr to indicate ckd.
Avatar f tn Sorry if I posted this under the wrong topic, nothing else seemed to fit for my question.Anyway this morning I did a at home 10 panel urine test and it showed a trace of protein in my urine. My ph. was around 6.5 and everything else was negative or "normal".What I have found so far online is that stress can cause protein in the urine if there is no disease like kidney problems or diebetes, which I don't think I have.So is protein in the normal okay for me?
Avatar f tn My daughters test revealed a trace of protein in her urine. We're also looking for any signs of an autoimmune disease. What can cause protein in the urine and what does a "trace" signify?
Avatar n tn Hi , i have been feeling very unwell for a month now, picking up bugs continually. Incontinence has got really bad, went to Doctor today and said that I have trace of blood and protein in urine. She has ordered blood test and has given me 3 days antibiotics just in case its an infection. However I have no pain at all when I pass urine, just no control. I am only 42 and slightly freaked out.........because I have felt so unwell for last month.
Avatar m tn i did a urinalysis and trace of protein was found in it, i was worried and i did some kidney test and my creatinine was 0.
1025106 tn?1251861070 i was recently told by my doctor that there was trace protein in my urine. before this i had noticed bubbles in my urine that quickly disappear, could the trace protein be the cause of the bubbles? also i have had a long history of kidney stones could this be the cause of the trace protein in my urine? is this a serious sign of kidney damage that can lead to renal failure.? my doctor ordered a 24 hr urine and some blood teat, but my next appointment isn't until the end of the year.
Avatar n tn ll most always have some protein in your urine, as trace amounts of protein are excreted in your urine as part of normal urine production. The concern is when you have TOO MUCH protein in your urine. This is a symptom known as proteinuria. How can you tell when you have too much protein in your urine? One of the tell-tale signs of too much is when your urine is very foamy, frothy or bubbly. Another way to diagnose proteinuria would be through a urinalysis.
Avatar m tn 8 mg dl and my urea was 24 mg dl, i am worried about the trace of protein in my urine please help me
Avatar n tn Some protein is normal in the urine. A 24 hour estimation of protein loss in urine would be optimal to estimate the level of proteinuria. Conditions which can cause proteinuria are nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, dehydration, collagen vascular diseases, strenuous exercises, diabetes mellitus, infections, multiple myeloma etc. I would suggest that you repeat the urine analysis again and take the opinion of your urologist to rule out the conditions mentioned above.
Avatar n tn I recently took a 24 hr urine test. I was told that I showed "some" protein in my urine and that the doctor would recommend me to an endocronologist. OK, should I be worried??!! What can cause this? Can it be treated? Is there a scale of the amount of protein one should have vs. not have? Could this also cause reproductive problems? I watch my diet and exercise. What could have brought this on? WHat steps should I now take to take charge of my health?
Avatar n tn Hello. I test my urine regularly with dipsticks. Mainly due to some foamy urine I had, and I wanted to make sure protein wasn't spilling into my urine, which it wasnt. However I have found that I occasionally have trace blood on the dipstick. Usually like 1 or 2 specks of non hemolyzed. Or just a very very faint shade of green. This is not often. Never in the morning. Usually happens after a lot of walking(which I know could cause it), or if I have a very high protein meal or protein shake.
Avatar n tn Doctor said she found a small trace of protein in my urine so she wants me to complete a 24 hours urine test. They said it could possibly mean preeclampsia? Can someone give me more insight!?! What if protein is found? Does that mean preeclampsia?
178590 tn?1294176767 Having trace of either should be fine. At least when I go for my appts and the dip test shows a slight trace of one or the other, I tell the nurse the results and they have never showed a concern with a trace result. Good for you to do the testing if you ob/gyn is not. Are there other good ob/gyn doctors in your area that you can switch too? If your current doctor is not doing all the regular monitoring that he/she should be, maybe it's time to switch?
Avatar m tn The second time I went (recently) my doctor also said there was trace amounts of protein but also trace amounts of blood. My doctor has sent off my urine for a proper analysis as he was unsure what the problem was. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing the problem? I should also mention that my blood pressure is normal and have no stinging/burning sensations when I urinate.
Avatar f tn I had a trace of protein last time, sometimes it can be beacuse its not a mid stream wee,or discharge has gone into the wee.I would not be worried about the ttace of protein if your bp was ok. For a bladder infection i drink cranberry juice and that always gets rid of it.
