I am a 53 yr old female. I have been getting odd symptoms. Pain that starts along my jaw bone and spreads quickly to my chest (Like a really bad case of heartburn) where I have trouble taking deep breaths without pain. I break out in a sweat and feel panicy. It only lasts for a short time but it is starting to worry me. I also have occasional left upper arm pain. Does this sound like heart attack symptoms?
I had my lower left side wisdom tooth removed about a week and five days ago and I am slowly experiencing more and more pain in my upper jaw area. I am having diffculties opening my mouth because of the pain and soreness. What I need to know is this normal to have pain in the jaw area after a wisdom tooth extraction? And if so, how long should I expect to experience this pain?
Five days later I got up in the morning and when I turned my head to the left I had a pain going from the upper neck area through the mouth and to the temple. The right side of my throat, under the back jaw, was swollen.
I have taken advil and that seems to be a little more relaxed however I did have a soreness at the top of the right back of the throat and when I press on two areas, one being under the back jaw on the throat and a little higher under the right ear it is sore.
s know if you have ever had braces before, but if so, or if you grind your teeth, there is a very good chance you might have TMJ. It causes severe jaw pain because the jaw is not aligning correctly. If it is, you generally can not open your mouth as far due to tightening or sometimes you can even feel or hear it pop.
I went to see my PCP the next day and started Flagyl and Cipro. That night, I was very restless and had a jaw pain in my lower jaw and a tense feeling in my upper chest. The symptoms returned, but much more severe the next day and I went to the ER. My bloodwork showed 'significant' elevation of troponin and the cardiologist insisted on doing a cardiac catheterization right then. It showed no blockages and I was released.
I have recently been prescribed Z-pack and then amoxycillin for what appeared to be a sinus infection (pain in face and upper and lower jaw on one side). The amoxycillin cleared it up finally, but now it is returning with more obvious signs that it is from my back upper right molar, with pain when I chew and pretty consistent throbbing. The first antibiotic was early-December, the second was right after.

In April 2017 immediately after a week of lower back pain I started experiencing several symptoms, including feeling off-balance, pins and needles, missing letters when typing, muscle twitches and jerks on and off all over, bee-sting sensations, tiredness, bloodshot eyes, difficulty opening eyelids after sleeping. This led to a lot of worry and hence I stopped doing a lot of the activities I had previously enjoyed doing.
Do you wear a splint for the clinching? If not, you can grind your teeth down so you might have to get your dentist to make one. I have tmj and had to pay an orthodontist $2,300 but it was worth it because within 6 months the jaw pain went away. He said a dentist doesn't know how to make upper jaw splints and guaranteed an upper would work and for 6 years he has been correct.
I threw my dentist's splint away, and stopped asking him any tmj questions.
AT THE END OF APRIL, THE PAIN RETURNED. MY ORAL SURGEON CHECKED ME AGAIN, AS DID MY REGULAR DENTIST. IN ADDITION TO THE JAW PAIN, I WAS HAVING EAR PAIN, AND THE GUM AREA (WHERE THE TOOTH WAS) WAS VERY SORE. THE ORAL SURGEON REFERRED ME TO A GUM SPECIALIST WHO SAID MY GUM LOOKED OK, BUT I MIGHT NEED AN INPLANT. THE EAR PAIN CONTINUED, SO I WAS SENT TO AN ENT DOCTOR WHO SAID MY EAR LOOKED FINE.
I have pain in my teeth, mostly upper right when I chew food or put my teeth together. It feels like I am chewing on aluminum fool. I also have pain in my jaw that feels burning. I have had an MVD that failed because my doctor said I have trigeminal neuralgia. Which now I am not so sure I have. Can you recommend anything that I should do now?
I can feel the throbbing sensation localized on my upper back molar, but the pain still radiates along my upper and lower jawline. The pain subsides for awhile, then returns. However, the intensity is nothing compared to what I experienced a few days ago. That was almost unbearable at times. If it is a toothache, could it get better on it's on, without any intervention?
There are so many TMJ symptoms, I can not begin to list them, but, it sure can cause jaw pain, in fact, it can sometimes even cause upper chest pain. I would see an orthodontist, he will run some tests on the jaw area and be able to tell you more of what is going on.
Oh, do your clench your teeth or when sleeping, been told you grind your teeth? This is also TMJ related and will cause the jaw to hurt.
Just the other day I saw a neurologist and got Tegretol which is supposed to help the pain cuased by Trigeminal neuralgia which I have same symptoms for. BUT taking for 2 days 100mg per day didn't do anything. and yesterday I even felt some mild but still dull toothache one the other side of my face. My symptoms are generally get worst as the day goes by. and I have this constant tender point on end of my jaw line since the very beginning of the extraction.
I have pain in my left arm and shoulder with numbness, and pain in my right arm. The chest pain is still the same. I have pain in my jaw, back, neck, and upper ribs. I also get tingling in my fingers on my right hand. I don't know if these are signs of a heart attack or the symptoms of what my doctor still thinks it is Costochondritis?
I to have tmj and spinal problems. I had braces on my upper teeth which corrected my bite many years ago. Now I have been having herniated discs at 5 and 6 and have been seeing a chiropractor three times a week for the last 8 weeks. I am walking straight again regained strength in my right arm wrist and hand that I havent had in years but the tmj is back. I think it started with the traction I was going through. It also affects my ear.
I have exactly what is being didcussed under jaw pain tooth pain. I can't hardly stand the pain. A month ago it was on the other side of my jaw. Had it xrayed & got 2nd opinion. They said it could be a sinus infection. I can believe the pain can possibly be that bad. It left. Now I have exactly the same thing on the other side of my mouth. It is in the lower jaw/ bone/tooth. They said it normally is in the upper teeth. Has anyone got any answers?
Hi. I’m a 48 year old male. Had pain in throat and jaw bone for a year off and on. The pain also goes under my arms and in my chest and upper back. I cannot find any swollen nodes except on jaw bone I think I feel a little something but not sure. I feel horrible. Fatigue and the pains and sometimes short of breath and no energy. I went to ent and they looked down my throat and ordered a ct with dye of neck. They didn’t find anything.
pain around ear when touching head; jaw pain; neck and throat tightness; pressure in chest, left arm, shoulder and upper back.
Have seen an ENT, Gastro and endocrinologist. Had MRI of brain, normal. Bloodwork all normal for mono, Epstein Barr, celiac, plus all the routine CBC and thyroid stuff.
