Common Questions and Answers about Trilipix the medication

tricor

Avatar n tn After being put on the trilipix I started felling tired and having stomache problems (constipated and cramping). I went back to have my a1c check last week and it was 8.0. I have seen a few post on different web sites with people being put on trilipix having trouble controling there blood sugar levels. I can't eat hardly anything without it raising my sugar levels. For instance I ate a bowl of cherrioes @ 8:30pm and my morning reading fasting was 143.
Avatar m tn An aneurysm of the aorta is subject to harm with heavy lifting as this spikes the blood pressure, the stress test should not cause an unsafe blood pressure, but there should be a cardiologist on standy if the physical exertion causes a problem. Medication can be a substitute for the treadmill if there is a risk. For some people 60-80 lbs., is a strain and unsafe, some may not find the 60-80 lbs. not heavy lifting! You should talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn I agree. The benefits outweigh the few, (if any at all) side effects from taking the benzo's every day for over six years. I'm 26 now without insurance, and they are the cheapest of the meds I am on. Trilipix is 184USD, Crestor is 189USD, and even generic gabapentin is 154USD. Lexapro is about 140UDS. Generic Klonopin is about 10USD. Remeron is about the same. And Inderal is 4USD. This is all per month, and I need every one of them.
Avatar f tn Lets forget about pain meds for the moment. Does the Neuro not have you on any preventative meds? Topamax, Trilipix, Trileptal, Inderal, etc? If not, you need to discuss that with the doctor. He needs to be on preventative meds. Treating migraines is a marathon and not a sprint. It takes time to find out what medication or combo of medications will work. Now, as far as pain pills....or...abortive meds. There are meds out there that specifically attack migraines.
Avatar n tn My reg family doc wanted me to go to see the gastro doctor to have an endo done back like 3 or 4 months ago when he had to switch me from protonix (which is my 2nd or 3rd med to try for acid reflux) to Nexium , the strongest dose 40 mgs I think. Well at the time I didn't have time to go see the gastro doc. But I had to go see a ENT because of an ear infection and he said my throat looked really irriated and I had better get my acid reflux checked out.
Avatar f tn Thank you. I don't normally drink. I did have 3 - 4 drinks during the entire holiday season. The only thing I can think of is I wasn't 100% good on my gluten free diet. My md did send me for more lab results Thursday, but due to the holiday I won't hear anything until Monday.
315318 tn?1353251800 Your question raised my curiosity and after a short research, my understanding is that it is not the fenofibrate but the rosuvastatin (Crestor) the one that can give you this effect. See this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20507274 Also it seems that insulin sensitivity gets better as the endothelial functions gets better and this is one of the effects of the statins, see this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
Avatar m tn When you take a drug and have an unexplained symptom/s, look at the side effects. It is common to be taking one or more prescription drug due to the side effects of the original drug. The newest warning out for PPI's such as Nexium is magnesium deficiency.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed medication but I refused to take them because I wanted to drink on the weekend and with that medication I couldn't so I started taking supplements instead but what are high triglycerides are they dangerous? Can they be fatal?
315318 tn?1353251800 When levels continue to elevate, the next step is to include insulin. Depending on the individual the doctor may remove oral medication and treat only with insulin. Discuss your concerns with your treating doctor. In your case he/she has knowledge of your medical history [we don't] and can explain the reason/s for specific treatment plan/s.
Avatar m tn They are not you and may have reacted different, but it helps to hear from another person on the same medication so you can share individual experiences. Might I ask at anyone currently taking Prozac to post to Christine to give their experience with the drug? I willl tell you that with the exception of about three antidepressants that there is often sexual side effects with these drugs.
Avatar f tn An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.
Avatar m tn The Oxycontin 20mg is a long acting medication that is taken usually twice a day, the oxycodone is an immediate release medication for fast relief of breakthrough pain. Its very common to be prescribed both a long acting med and a short acting med. The Marinol, i would say is more for the nerve pain, which is probably why he is still on the oxy meds. I hope that helps some. Good luck!
404138 tn?1308941656 I dont know anything about meds and I get anxiety BAD, I shake all over and turn red cant focus hyperventalate...etc. What would you say is the best medication to calm my nerves throughout the whole day so I dont go into panic mode...I have heard that xanax helps calm you right down in the midst of an attack, but I need something that will just calm my nerves throughout the day??
Avatar n tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
937868 tn?1570328281 In the 8 or so years that I have been on this site, I have always asked for anybody who finds a natural way to medicate for AD/HD to let me know. Nobody has ever responded. Furthermore, I have never seen any scientific tests that show any natural meds work. For them to work, they would have to increase the dopamine levels of the brain, and that is not something that you would want to play around with. I am not sure what your fear of the meds are.
Avatar n tn I am on Lyrica for burning feet caused by neuropathy. When standing, I am having dizzy spells and risk the chance of falling. I'm not sure if it's the medication or the MS. Does anyone else have this problem? This discussion is related to MS and age....
Avatar n tn s always a good idea to read the information the pharmacy includes with the medication so you are aware of what side effects are possible and what side effects may be something you need to contact your prescriber about. But yes, Headaches can be a side effect of beginning the medication. Usually ear ringing is associated with stopping the medication but has been reported while beginning it also in some.
Avatar n tn Are they for the right part if the body? Look at the bottle. It may have a picture of the eye or the ear to prevent confusion. Finally, ask the pharmacist. They can review the prescription and call the doctor if needed.
Avatar f tn Most doctors will tell you to cease any medication until after the baby was born. The very earliest most doctors would suggest continuing the meds is the 3rd trimester. If i chose to take the meds in the 3rd trimester, the doctors will want you to sign all kinds of waivers of liability. In the end, I guess it depends on how severe your condition is, however nothing is more important to me than the health of the baby.
Avatar f tn So as of right now i dont have a doctor to ask if its safe to combine the medication.. I dont think over the counter medication is going to help with these finding..
Avatar f tn If Lyrica worked for you, then start the fight with the insurance company. Either find a doctor that will write you the letter for it, or talk with your doctor about the fact that it worked, and you need his help for recommendation. Insurance companies suck for this, but I have fought with mine countless times for medication, and they usually give in. Dont give up! I would ask your doctor why he wouldn't recommend the medication if it was working?
Avatar m tn different medication was given and if she was no different we would do x-rays. That night i gave her the first of the medication where 3 hours later she had a horrible breathing attack. she then got better the following night i did the same again at the same time and 3 hours later the same happened only this time she collapsed had massive breathing problems and got her a.s.ap to the vet where she was choking making awful noises couldnt breath, had a blue tongue.
Avatar f tn You must add up all the Acetaminophen you take and avoid exceeding that magic number of 3,000mg. Actually the lower the better. I take 2,000mg a day and no more. I never purchase anything that contains Acetaminophen so I avoid exceeding the recommendations. Regarding the other medications. I assume you are referring to Temazepam. It's a sleeping medication as you know and is a 3-hydroxy hypnotic of the benzodiazepine class of psychoactive drugs.
Avatar f tn I could manage it with paracetamol up until last friday when the pain became so bad in the morning that I had to crawl to the bathroom and very gradually weight bear. I went to my GP who did a blood test which I know included RA and have been told that the results indicate inflammation. On Monday I was prescribed Naproxen 250 mg three times a day and Lansoprazole 15 mg once daily and told if symptoms persist to return In two weeks.
Avatar f tn It is not a matter of how long you can live with thyroid cancer. Some people (Including Me) think "What the hell" and just want to let the cancer run it's course. The only problem with this is the loaction of the cancer (In my freaking neck) snuggled right up next to my airway. I call my tumor "My Little Buddy". Now..my little buddy decided to keep right on growing, which most tumors do and now my airway is being pressed on.
