Avatar n tn Hello, Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid used to treat various skin conditions and has been reported as better as compared to Fluocinonide. Side effects like hair loss, burning and skin blisters are common after using fluocinonide. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn It is defined as recurrent, non-scarring type of hair loss, most likely caused by autoimmune processes. The pathogenesis is probably T-cell mediated; occurs in genetically predisposed individuals. Clinical manifestation includes non-scarring, non-inflammatory, patterned alopecia; one or many round-to-oval bald patches; exclamation point hairs (i.e. hairs tapered near proximal end) often present; most commonly occurring in the scalp, but possible in any hair-bearing area.
Avatar f tn I have been on treatment for 23 out of 48 weeks. I have loss over half of my hair. Will this continue or will this ease off now that I am half way?
Avatar m tn As I had previously experience of psoriasis, I thought I may help it with triamcinolone cream. After using triamcinolone, I didn't have the itch but once I stopped using it, the itch would come back. I injected triamcinolone (1/2 ml in two points) under skin (1-2 mm depth). The itch went but the area remained little red for about 2 weeks. Then the area turned into whiter or brighter (which was visible only in sunlight).
Avatar f tn What does skin atrophy look like? I used a steroid cream Triamcinolone on my face months back. I used it periodically over the course of 3 to 4 months. Now my facial skin looks almost scarred. I can't quite tell if it is permanent scarring or atrophy. Can a steroid cream produce scarring? Is this reversible? How long does it usually take to reverse?
Avatar f tn My son, at 8 months, was given the aformentioned med for treatment of excema. The warning my doctor gave was to ensure it doesn't get in his face.My husband and I deployed leaving my mother in law to care for our son. She mistakenly put the med on his face and the area around his mouth is now discolored. He's a brown skinned baby with a huge white patch around his mouth. She applied this med over a year ago and we have been told by other doc that the color would come back in a year.
Avatar n tn In my realm of practice, triamcinolone can affect the body for 3 months, which for me would be until early to mid March. With postnatal thyroiditis, will you have authoantibodies to T3/T4? Is this like an immune-mediated thyroiditis? Thanks for any info!
Avatar n tn , I have been diagnosed as rosacia. I also have had a severe loss of hair, and the texture has changed so dramatically, any new growth is completely different than it was before. My face and hair have been casing me problems for 4 years. Could any of these be caused by Kenalog or Synvisc? Avatar f tn Don't use Triamcinolone anymore if you can help it as overuse can cause real problems. We read about it here all the time because it can thin the skin. I would try Psoriaflora cream or clear 100% aloe vera.
Avatar m tn ve had these itchy bumps spreading around for just over a year now. They started on my hand and have now worked their way on my arms, legs, face, and scalp. I was told by a dermatologist that they were flat warts, but on a whim I just had one of the biopsied last week. The biopsy says the following: Dilated hair follicle with cystic change and features of epidermal inclusion cyst. Surrounding chronic inflammation is present. Atypia or features of malignancy are not identified.
Avatar f tn In some cases, there is a need to treat the underlying cause for resolution of the hair loss. Take care always.
Avatar n tn If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss. Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones.
Avatar n tn Is there any hope? I've been dealing with this disease for over 10 years and just when I think it's gone away and maybe I won't have any more lessions ..... I'll have another flare up. So many surgeries and so many doctors ..... still no real concrete answers. What can I expect from the future? Will it get progressivley worse? Is there any hope at all? Avatar f tn It was at a head and you could see the hair underneath. I drained it and removed two hairs out of the pore. I put triamcinolone on it over night and swelling went down. Throughout the day however the bump became more apparent and red in color. There is no head to it just a pea sized bright red lump. Not sure if this is just irritation from the removal or if it could be infected.
Avatar f tn It has lasted for about 10 months and I take protopic and it seems to help and Triamcinolone works but as soon as I stop using them it comes back in just a couple days. I just want a cure for this because medications help but it just keeps coming back. As you can see, it is just a group of small bumps acne like, they are not painful and they just show up almost overnight and are somewhat bright red. They seem to stay under my mouth and chin area.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am 18 years old, and have been having issues with hair loss. It all began about 2 years ago when I initially switched up my diet and lost weight quite rapidly. I lost my period for about 6 months and my hair shed. I had blood work done then, and no irregularities were present. My hair loss eventually subsidized (although my hair never fully grew back), and my period returned. However, in June I missed my period, and my hair loss returned.
Avatar f tn Hello, Keratosis pilaris is also called the chicken skin and occurs when Keratin, accumulates within the hair follicles forming numerous tiny rough bumps on the skin. Some of the treatment options for keratosis pilaris are Creams containing the acid form of vitamin A, Tretinoin, adapelene and triamcinolone. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin.
1292023 tn?1272203010 Hello, Your dermatologist has prescribed the correct treatment as triamcinolone is a topical steroid. But make sure to apply it only for the prescribed time as it is a topical high potency steroid and hence it may cause side effects if used for a long time. You can wear cotton gloves as they absorb sweating which exaggerates the condition. Since eczema is triggered by stress and other allergens, so your perming of the hair and the exposure to chemicals may be the causative factor in your case.
Avatar m tn Hello Dr. HHH/ Dr. EWH, I'm a straight male. I have taken a HIV I & II Antigen and Antibody Screening Test 12 weeks after my exposure, which should be considered low risk as I read some of the previous threads here. Unprotected Oral Sex and Protected Vaginal Sex, both insertive to a commercial sex worker. Result is non-reactive. During the window period, I have stopped smoking. I'm quite prone to mouth ulcers and quitting smoking made the mouth ulcers happened more frequent.
Avatar m tn Thanks for responding. I am aware of its purpose, however l have used it for 3 years and it stops the bumps from appearing. As soon as l get tingling, l start to use it and l do not get an outbreak. I am just healing on a lesion that l did not use it on. I have had this lesion for 8weeks and on valtrex the past 2.
