Avatar f tn If you just want something to add some color, you could try self tanning lotions. But, if it were my child I might take him to another dermatologist for a second opinion. If you are still in the military, I know how difficult "on post or Tri-care" providers can be sometimes. Just be persistent and make demands not requests, it is their job to care of you properly!

Avatar m tn Can someone please answer me on this question...pharmacist...doctor...anybody? I am really in need of this information. I am desperate because of my unique situation which defies regular methods for treatment(destruction of blood vessels), so i need to know the answer to this question how these side effects develop so I can watch out and search for alternative treatments, and don't use treatments that would only waste my time, money and energy and most importantly hope and health.
Avatar n tn Hello, Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid used to treat various skin conditions and has been reported as better as compared to Fluocinonide. Side effects like hair loss, burning and skin blisters are common after using fluocinonide. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

Avatar n tn Burning and itching are very common side effects. Hence your daughter must have screamed. For fungal infections this cream is available with nystatin in it. However please consult your daughter’s pediatrician or skin specialist before starting any medicine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn The shot seems to only work for about 3 months than I have to wait and suffer since cream and oitments dont work anymore and have horrible cosmetic side effects. I am a healthy 21 year old mal and have had this for 5 years on my face. Never had it as a child and no one in my family history. Are there any completely crazy surgeries out there (burning, face life.. anything)?
Avatar m tn Hello, Hypopigmentation and muscle atrophy and thinning of skin are frequent side effects of steroids and you have injected a high potency steroid triamcinolone in your skin. This might have caused these side effects. Secondly vitiligo and if there is any loss of sensation in the area then leprosy also need to be ruled out. It will be best to get the diagnosis confirmed by a skin biopsy.
Avatar m tn Hello, Triamcinolone is a high potency steroid and is not without side effects. Regarding the fungal infection, wash the area and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. It is important that the skin is not damp because the damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day. Also apply topical antifungals like Lamisil or Monistat. Severe cases may need oral antifungals for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn t comment on the herb or the Triamcinolone but like all steroids there are many side effects....do speak with your Vet and tell them whats happening. Atopica(cyclosporine) is prescribed OFF label for cats...usually to treat Feline Granuloma Comlpex. the side effects are less than that of steroids.esp for long term use. . http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_cyclosporine.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor and he said it is irritated and gave me Triamcinolone Acetonide Topical. Its a steroid and antifungal cream. Hasnt been so effective though. I also used Aldara on the same spot but that was over 2 months ago. The current symptoms have been present for almost 2 weeks now.
Avatar f tn Hello, These look like stretch marks rather than side effects of the drugs. Laser therapy, and dermabrasion, alone or in combination have also been shown to be effective. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Try using Neosporin or polysporin with your triamcinolone cream. Triamcinolone caused red marks on my face and a bit dryness and white patches appeared. I started mixing Neosporin and triamcinolone cream together and noticed the redness going away. Polysporin also helped me also. I discovered my skin is too sensitive to use triamcinolone cream by itself.
Avatar m tn i think im having a allurgic reaction to triamcinolone lotion,im getting tingling sensation around my mouth and left side of face and ithcing like crazy but also difficulty breathing.
Avatar n tn The reason here is that if this is infectious in origin (which is very likely) applying corticosteroids such as triamcinolone may only aggravate the condition. Corticosteroids do have their own side effects and when used for prolonged periods, they may actually increase susceptibility to infections. Also, it is important to note the dose of corticosteroids since higher doses my entail more side effects such as thinning of the skin. A physician consult is necessary.
Avatar m tn I didn’t bother reporting the adverse reaction since the cream’s listed side effects include permanent discoloration and skin burns/bubbling/lesions/etc.....sounds like the manufacturer is well aware of these problems....I just wish the Dr would have warmed me. Looks like I better get used to living with the damage since I’ve already been tested for fungal infections.
Avatar n tn This drug is commonly used by Dermatologists by injection into Infected and swollen Sebaceous Cysts and scar adhesions. As with all steroid medications it comes with side effects, the most notable being being redness or pain at the injection site. The other common ones being headache, menstrual period changes and/or post-menopausal bleeding, easy bruising and/or bleeding, swelling of the ankles/feet, persistent weight gain, puffy face, unusual hair growth and thinning of the skin etc.
Avatar f tn Moreover medicines like Triamcinolone which is a highly potent steroid is not without side effects and need to be taken only after consulting a doctor as the dose may need to be tapered off. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn However, my eye pressure went up to 36 and my eyelid started to droop and it took several months before these side effects resolved. Now my CME has recurred. I am seeing a retina specialist who is very conservative in using steroids. I have had 4 intravitreal Avastin injections since April with absolutely no improvement. I'm beginning to worry about permanent consequences from CME lasting as long as 4 months.
Avatar n tn I tried using moisturizers to control this but they only helped a little. I went to my primary-care physician and she prescribed me steroid (triamcinolone acetonide 0.1%) cream and ointment (the cream was to be used once a day in the mornings, and the ointment was to be used once a day in the evenings). She instructed me to use the cream/ointment very sparingly, avoid getting or rubbing it into my eyes, and to only use for 14 days. After 14 days I am supposed to switch to an emollient.
Avatar m tn It is very true that steroids are not without side effects and long term use should be under a dermatologist’s guidance only. Steroid induced rosacea is one of the commonest side effect of long term use of steroids. Others include skin thinning and atrophy, allergic reaction and tachyphylaxis(tolerance the skin develops to the vasoconstrictive action of topical steroids.). Steroids are not available over the counter and should be taken after a dermatologist’s prescription only.
Avatar m tn So it's been 5 days since the doc gave me the Triamcinolone and all symptons on my penis are gone. I meanly completely. I've never seen anything heal so quick. First 2 days of the cream were a bit strange due to the clumping of the cream and the skin felt like it was falling off (for lack of a better word) but i'm amazed how the stuff worked. I hope whatever I have never comes back again. Let's say I had some dermatitis, will it come back ?
Avatar n tn Hello, Skin thinning and atrophy are frequent side effects of the steroid cream that you have used on penis. It will gradually come back to normal depending on the severity of skin thinning. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn If the rash has already faded, it is best to stop the Triamcinolone cream. This is because side effects of this medication includes: drying or cracking of the skin, itching, burning or changes in skin color. (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a601124.html) Showering or bathing daily, keeping the groin area dry, using powder around the groin area to prevent excess moisture, avoiding tight fitting clothes and changing underwear at least once a day may help.
1292023 tn?1272203010 But make sure to apply it only for the prescribed time as it is a topical high potency steroid and hence it may cause side effects if used for a long time. You can wear cotton gloves as they absorb sweating which exaggerates the condition. Since eczema is triggered by stress and other allergens, so your perming of the hair and the exposure to chemicals may be the causative factor in your case. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
