Avatar f tn If you just want something to add some color, you could try self tanning lotions. But, if it were my child I might take him to another dermatologist for a second opinion. If you are still in the military, I know how difficult "on post or Tri-care" providers can be sometimes. Just be persistent and make demands not requests, it is their job to care of you properly!

I have developed these side effects from usage of two different corticosteroids for different skin problems.

Avatar n tn Burning and itching are very common side effects. Hence your daughter must have screamed. For fungal infections this cream is available with nystatin in it. However please consult your daughter’s pediatrician or skin specialist before starting any medicine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hello, Hypopigmentation and muscle atrophy and thinning of skin are frequent side effects of steroids and you have injected a high potency steroid triamcinolone in your skin. This might have caused these side effects. Secondly vitiligo and if there is any loss of sensation in the area then leprosy also need to be ruled out. It will be best to get the diagnosis confirmed by a skin biopsy.
Avatar m tn Hello, Triamcinolone is a high potency steroid and is not without side effects. Regarding the fungal infection, wash the area and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. It is important that the skin is not damp because the damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwears and change them twice a day. Also apply topical antifungals like Lamisil or Monistat. Severe cases may need oral antifungals for which I suggest you to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn t comment on the herb or the Triamcinolone but like all steroids there are many side effects....do speak with your Vet and tell them whats happening. Atopica(cyclosporine) is prescribed OFF label for cats...usually to treat Feline Granuloma Comlpex. the side effects are less than that of steroids.esp for long term use. . http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_cyclosporine.
Avatar f tn Hello, These look like stretch marks rather than side effects of the drugs. Laser therapy, and dermabrasion, alone or in combination have also been shown to be effective. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn What does skin atrophy look like? I used a steroid cream Triamcinolone on my face months back. I used it periodically over the course of 3 to 4 months. Now my facial skin looks almost scarred. I can't quite tell if it is permanent scarring or atrophy. Can a steroid cream produce scarring? Is this reversible? How long does it usually take to reverse?
Avatar m tn i think im having a allurgic reaction to triamcinolone lotion,im getting tingling sensation around my mouth and left side of face and ithcing like crazy but also difficulty breathing.
Avatar m tn I am well aware of what the side effects are but I dont care. Do any of you doctors out there give more than 2 a year? The shot seems to only work for about 3 months than I have to wait and suffer since cream and oitments dont work anymore and have horrible cosmetic side effects. I am a healthy 21 year old mal and have had this for 5 years on my face. Never had it as a child and no one in my family history. Are there any completely crazy surgeries out there (burning, face life..
Avatar m tn com/about/contact-us Based off a quick google search, it sounds like infection caused by fungus may also be a common side effect. The Triamcinolone cream, actually would potentially make that worse. Tacrolimus is more for an eczema rash- so it might be that you need to be checked for a fungal infection instead. Head back to the doctor, and let them know that it's not working- hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn However, my eye pressure went up to 36 and my eyelid started to droop and it took several months before these side effects resolved. Now my CME has recurred. I am seeing a retina specialist who is very conservative in using steroids. I have had 4 intravitreal Avastin injections since April with absolutely no improvement. I'm beginning to worry about permanent consequences from CME lasting as long as 4 months.
Avatar f tn Moreover medicines like Triamcinolone which is a highly potent steroid is not without side effects and need to be taken only after consulting a doctor as the dose may need to be tapered off. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn I tried using moisturizers to control this but they only helped a little. I went to my primary-care physician and she prescribed me steroid (triamcinolone acetonide 0.1%) cream and ointment (the cream was to be used once a day in the mornings, and the ointment was to be used once a day in the evenings). She instructed me to use the cream/ointment very sparingly, avoid getting or rubbing it into my eyes, and to only use for 14 days. After 14 days I am supposed to switch to an emollient.
Avatar m tn It is very true that steroids are not without side effects and long term use should be under a dermatologist’s guidance only. Steroid induced rosacea is one of the commonest side effect of long term use of steroids. Others include skin thinning and atrophy, allergic reaction and tachyphylaxis(tolerance the skin develops to the vasoconstrictive action of topical steroids.). Steroids are not available over the counter and should be taken after a dermatologist’s prescription only.
Avatar n tn Hello, Skin thinning and atrophy are frequent side effects of the steroid cream that you have used on penis. It will gradually come back to normal depending on the severity of skin thinning. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. Avatar n tn If the rash has already faded, it is best to stop the Triamcinolone cream. This is because side effects of this medication includes: drying or cracking of the skin, itching, burning or changes in skin color. (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a601124.html) Showering or bathing daily, keeping the groin area dry, using powder around the groin area to prevent excess moisture, avoiding tight fitting clothes and changing underwear at least once a day may help.
Avatar m tn I have stopped using the Triamcinolone Cream two months ago because of the side effects such as periorbital dermatitis.. What are the common causes of a Papular Rash? I am exposed to Dogs and Cats on a daily basis, could this be Toxocariasis? I haven't had a fever but do have a dry cough. The only meds I am on now are Allegra, Zantac and just ending a four week round of Minocycline. If this is possibly from Minocycline, how long does it take for a drug induced rash to go away?
1292023 tn?1272203010 But make sure to apply it only for the prescribed time as it is a topical high potency steroid and hence it may cause side effects if used for a long time. You can wear cotton gloves as they absorb sweating which exaggerates the condition. Since eczema is triggered by stress and other allergens, so your perming of the hair and the exposure to chemicals may be the causative factor in your case. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
