Avatar m tn I've been having back pain recently which stems from something that I have had since I was a kid, although it seems to be getting worse as I get older. What will happen is that the pain will start in my back then move down my legs. Sometimes it hurts so bad that I can hardly walk. I've been to the doctors many times, but they can never pinpoint what is causing it. Anyway, the doctor recently prescribed Tramadol for the pain.
1178983 tn?1279663655 Taking an opiate for an extended period of time usually results in some level of dependence and abrupt discontinuation of the medication can lead to withdrawal symptoms resulting in a failed attempt at discontinuation. The maximum daily dosage of Tramadol in a 24 hour period is 400mg and as such your dosage is not usually associated with long term effects due to being below the maximum recommended daily dosage.
Avatar f tn I have been taking tramadol for about 2 years now and have increased my dosage to about 3 pills, four times a day. I know I am without addicted to this "non habit forming drug". While I'm not all kinds of messed up from these pills, they give me a good sense of well being as well as help with my neck pain. I've been reading that withdrawal is pretty brutal, even worse than "real" opiates due to the precision of the drug on neurotransmitters.
Avatar m tn m coming off Tramadol as you know. The depression for me, has lifted, because I think the tramadol was causing it. With you; Is it depression or anxiety? Or is it simply Withdrawal Lethargy? I so undertsand not wantingto take anything else, so I would reccemnd that you correct your diet as much as possible, take the vitamins and aminos and above all, start exercising very slowly. Also getting outside and getting Vitamin D! SO important.
Avatar f tn ve had a long cold winter, and the Tramadol stopped working for my chronic back pain and the depression. My Dr. told me to get back on the Effexor because my mood was really flat and I had started crying and becoming overly emotional. That's when I knew I needed to make some changes with my meds. I don't know what I will do for my back pain, once I'm off the opioids? Hopefully I can manage with Tylenol and muscle relaxants.
Avatar m tn I don't know what happened to my old thread on this topic, but anyway, Im 19 years old and I'v had severe ocd and anxiety since I was little kid. I was also diagnosed with depression about 4 years ago. I'v been prescribed about every anti-depressant on the market, as well as a couple different bi-polar meds, all of which did absolutely nothing for me, except have negative side effects.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Tramadol for 2 years for arthritic pain. I do not take more than 250 mg at present, but this amount is reduced by me after having taken a lot higher dose previously. i MUST take T first thing in the morning or i begin to get nausea and weak with sweats. I am not on a high dose, but need them each day or I will begin to withdraw. I am soo tired of taking this medication, I just want off! I know I must taper down as I have come down considerably already.
Avatar m tn Have you tried to give up tramadol and had problems with the withdrawal or are you yet to try? How long have you been using tramadol for? I just tried giving it up for the first time yesterday. I took my last pill at 1 am on December 31st and had caved in 19 hours later.... I am thinking I need to taper but I just want to get this over and done with as soon as possible. We can get through this together!!!
Avatar f tn I can't remember if I asked this before or not but does Tramadol affect the same receptors that codeine does? I swear I need to see the Wizard of Oz and get a brain!
1078559 tn?1255957403 8 days ago I stopped taking soma after using it of an on, mostly on for about 2 years. My normal daily dosage was 6-8 350mg tablets. I experienced 2 days of being laid up with nausea and headaches; then it subsided and I went back to normal daily activites without soma. Then, I withdrew from tramadol (and caffeine at the same time) starting yesterday at noon. I went through hell with both severe caffeine withdrawals on top of the tramadol cessation.
Avatar f tn For sure. Cats are at least 10 times smaller than a SMALL adult human female. What is given to us is too much for such a small animal. For example: The amount of Zyrtec I was told to give to Akira is only 1/4 of the adult human dosage. This is much smaller than the children's dosage, which is 1/2 of the adult human dosage. I would never ever give medications to Akira without her first seeing her doctor. I do know that no one should ever give Tylenol to their pets.
Avatar f tn This is an American problem. Remember, we had Prohibition, and we still have it for marijuana and other recreational drugs. It doesn't work, of course, but that doesn't stop people. Right now you're caught in one of our periodic opioid crises. Sometimes it's an LSD scare. Sometimes it's going overboard about drunk driving (keep in mind that nobody ever has to prove alcohol in the system caused the crash, it's assumed because activists have made the law that way.

Avatar m tn Thank you for the reply jf you have any other suggestions on how to cope with tramadol withdrawals it would be greatly appreciated thanks again,
323551 tn?1255174750 then it would take another day or 2 for my body/mind to adjust to the new lower dosage (again total 3~5 days) before i could cut back again. Went from 12 tabs/day to currently 1.
Avatar m tn Hello. First, thanks to all those that post on this board, I've read many threads here about Tramadol addiction and they've been most helpful, and helped make this detox less hellish. The reason I'm posting this new thread rather than adding to the already plentiful threads revolving around the same subject is because I have some additional concerns not already covered in the other posts. I want to know what comes after the Tramadol.
Avatar f tn Determining a dosage of tramadol for dogs is an exercise in futility. As with people, if the dog has a history of seizures it is important to let your vet know this, and they will likely tell you about alternatives. While the dosage amounts vary from dog to dog, the tramadol dosage for dogs can be put into effect by using the dog’s weight as the determinant. The usual range is .5 - 1.8mg per pound.
475300 tn?1312423126 /Tylenol in it. I take just the regular strength of Tramadol 50mg, not the ER. It works fine for me. For me, the anti-D's caused too many side effects such as: weight gain, sleeplessness, too sleepy during the day, lethargy, sweating, upset stomach, constipation and on and on and on..., you get the picture. I just decided to give up on them and do something different.
796687 tn?1237333243 Continued on with both Lorozapam and hydrocodine untill about 6 months ago when the doctor suggested Cymbalta for the depression and took me off Tramadol. Don't remember a problem getting over the Tramadol that time because I think Cymbalta took up the slack. Used Cymbalta 30mg them 60mg for about 5 months and asked the Doctor to get me of of it. He said, 'go a week on 30mg and then take the Tramadol again...good luck! No, he actually said, "good luck." I was using .

1486336 tn?1289591715 Was only taking Tramadol for ONE month 2 50mg pills twice daily for pain and when I stopped two days into my next refill I started experiencing what I soon realized were withdrawal symptoms. I've never been addicted to opiates and it has been 3 weeks since I went cold turkey after trying cold turkey and an attempt at tapering which were HELL.
Avatar f tn I never once took more than the recommended dosage of any of my pain meds, but was on Tramadol for about 6 months at 150 MG per day. My doctor took me off Tramadol without warning. In the 6 month period, i never missed a dose, because i was still very sore and stiff. Let me tell you !! I was not prepared for what i went through this past weekend. I almost ended my life because i was in such agony. To make it even worse, i left messages with my doctor, and he never returned my calls.
Avatar n tn Hey Yall, Its been a long time! I apologize for not posting in such a long time but things were good so I felt it was time to move on. Or so they were until my accident! I got in a bad car accident a few months ago and was prescribed Roxi 30s. I tried not to take them but eventually I had to. Anyways, I finally started abusing them again and street shopping. I instantly realized I was heading down the path again and started a taper.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know how long it takes to detox from tramadol? I've been taking it for about a month. Does anyone have any experience with this drug? Any info would be helpful! Thanks.
