tramadol dosage high

Hi. I am currently taking about 9-10 50mgs a day. Not for anything but the "high". I have been taking them for a month. I want to quit or at least lower the dosage. Any suggestions??

Absolutely. Tramadol, actually, has a very high potential for addiction. It was made with the intention of it not being addictive, but I have been told by a few doctors, and by someone very close to me who takes it, that it is EXTREMELY addictive.

can i get high by using tramadol wich means if i take enough of it will i get a good feeling.

Hi. Does anyone know what the "jumping off point" would be for Tramadol dosage to avoid wd's? Example: 3 of the 50mg per day for a week or so and then stop everything? This would NOT be for long term usage, but rather a post surgery 3 week usage. The person has a long history of Opiate abuse and was prescribed Norco for over a month. Then they went to Tramadol for 2 weeks at 7 of the 50mg per day for a week and now 3 per day for the last week.

Am I crazy, or does continuous use of Tramadol at high doses cause your hair to fall out? I have been on Tramadol daily for 3 years. I really am loosing my hair. Has this happened to anyone?? Will it grow back after I finally kick this habit??

Reduse your intake one 1 pill a week it will help with your withdrawls and give you body time to adjust between each drop

Please dont misunderstand me, my concern isnt getting addicted to a new drug for purposes of getting high, but simply to take it in very very mild dosage to help me get through the day at work.

I am currently trying to taper myself off Tramadol. I have been on it for 3 years now. Many doctors clain Tramadol is not addictive, WRONG! Personally, I have only ever been addicted to Tramadol so I am not sure what w/d symptoms are like for other drugs, but w/d from Tramadol is BAD! If I were you, I would not risk it by using Tramadol. Have you tried the Thomas Detox Receipe? I have heard great things about it. I am going to give it a try when I get my tapered dosage down a little more.

I wasted too much of my life as a slave to this miserable drug that has now become the go-to post operative, and emergency room, pain killer because MD’s are afraid of prescribing sched II hydrocodone or oxycodone, because of the opioid crisis, but those two are actually easier to get off of and have less potential for abuse/addiction than sched IV tramadol. It’s crazy. Tramadol also increases intracranial pressure, for all you high b.p.

My decrease in dosage of Effexor over the last year was being compensated by the T. I have reduced my dosage of Tramadol down to 150 mg daily now and I am experiencing severe depression. When I found out about the DEA rescheduling back in July, I dropped from about 14 to 9 pills (50 mgs) a day, stayed there for a week, then have dropped one pill a day each week since. I took only a 37.5 mg tram with acetaminophen today. I am taking 2 300 mg gabapentins a day as well as other supplements, including a valerian & melatonin capsule at bedtime. I take a ridiculous amount of tramadol daily.800mg/daily. I decreased my dose last night to 600mg. I couldn't sleep and felt panicky. I have to do this while I work during the day because I don't have the luxury of taking time off. I am tapering off of Tramadol (350mg per day) and was wondering if I "delay" my dosage as long as possible will it cause any issues? I am cutting down by 1 pill per week as on my other post, but if I delay my morning 50mg pill from 7am to 10am (if tolerable) will this help me get off this devil drug faster? (I am currently on 350mg per day and have been taking for 6 weeks total) In other words..... the less I take during the day as tolerated, the quicker I get off of it?

To dominosarah and mr.lucky66 Well crap... so much for the several other opinions of it being a wonder drug that's easy to quit afterwards. Just to be clear though, I'm not worried about psychological addiction, my oxy's were for pain alone... I have a very high tolerance to pain medication so maybe that's why I've never understood what people get out of them that's pleasurable because I've never experienced it.

I have been taking tramadol for about 2 years now and have increased my dosage to about 3 pills, four times a day. I know I am without addicted to this "non habit forming drug". While I'm not all kinds of messed up from these pills, they give me a good sense of well being as well as help with my neck pain. I've been reading that withdrawal is pretty brutal, even worse than "real" opiates due to the precision of the drug on neurotransmitters.

I'm actually new to this board. I recently started taking Tramadol for back pain. First my dosage was one 50mg dose every six hours. Then it became two 50mg doses every six hours and now it's two 50mg every 4 hours. I started to read about seizures involved with this drug and it scared me ********. I've tampered off them within a week and today is day 2.

I agree with dominosarah as a taper is best for Tramadol if you were using for a long time and high dosage. You need to tell your doctor you problem and they will help you though. But I strongly advise against the Suboxone. (no offense girlnextdoor2) It is another highly addictive drug and horrible side effects as well. It will simply delay your detox and possibly trade one addiction for another. Keep us posted and great job on wanting to get clean!

It's been a long time since i've been on here. I only had one post and I just read it and remembered how sick I felt. I can't believe I went from taking 400 mg of tramadol a day to 1600 mg a day or more. I can still remember that day when I said I would never get that high of a dosage. Well, it happened anyway!
