673999 tn?1226935279 Have your doctor write you a prescription for Lidocaine 2 % Gel ( called "Urojets")...this is a cartridge with topical Lidocaine that is injected directly into the urethra. Very commonly used by urologists as a local anesthestic both in the office and in the surgical setting, and I found it to be extremely helpful for IC. I couldn't have survived without it.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
Avatar n tn I have a tattoo that is on the top of my right arm that has been there for nearly 20 years and in the last few weeks it has suddenly got lumps under it and some of them have discoloured to look like moles. I have shown my skin cancer doc and he says they are not anything to worry about in that respect, but he has no idea what they are or what has caused them after this amount of time. The areas where the lumps are have predominantly black and blue colouration... lines and colour....
Avatar n tn I got a tattoo on my neck a week ago on a Saturday. The healing process was going fine until Wednesday. I was using Cocoa butter as I have on all my other tattoos. Then on Wednesday I started breaking out under my tattoo and around it in small bumps that itched. Well as the days go by it is getting worse. The bumps are bigger and the itch is unbearable. I've stopped using the cocoa butter and have switched to an unscented lotion.
Avatar n tn while trying to schedule this, I am told I have a positive ANA / titer patterning for CREST. Could the tattoo allergy lead this positive testing? I have zero other symptoms.
Avatar m tn Hello, For allergic reaction to tattoo ink, treatment includes oral antihistaminics like Benadryl and topical application of corticosteroids. You may try application of calamine on the affected site. It may work by soothing the skin. But if the symptoms are severe then unfortunately the tattoo has to be removed and oral steroids prescribed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn D Ointment on the tattoo for two days after I got it upon advice from the tattoo artist, but I have not used any topical creams since then. Basically, I am wondering if I should drive the 2 hours it would take me to see a dermatologist or if I should just let the rash spread and wait for it to clear up? I am also wondering about how long that would take (just so I don't keep worrying about it!) And of course I'd love to know what caused it in the first place (allergy to the ink?
1341895 tn?1276123160 i got a tattoo (sun flowers, just the outline and grey-wash on my R ancle) on memorial day 2010 and the day after there were a couple red spots above the tattoo i hardly noticed them b/c my foot & ancle was so painfully swolen that i couldn't stand on it, and i belive the tat itself was a little weepy the swelling lasted a week. the next day (day 3 after the tat), there were hundreds, and the older ones had a white center, and raised.
Avatar f tn I have a total of 9 tattoos all from different shops and on different areas of my body. Today the tattoo on the back of my leg started itching and itching has spread through the entire tattoo. I've had the tattoo for about 7 months it is entirely black and grey. Later in the day the tattoo on my upper back also started itching and it has also spread throughout the entire tattoo. This one I've had for a year and it has yellow and red in it.
Avatar m tn try topical anelgesic cream it does wonders for mine, if that does not work ask your sdocto for somethin containg lidocaine
Avatar m tn Initially I broke out with a rash on area colored red on my tattoo. The rash had disappeared for about 2 weeks then returned. Only difference is, it is no longer on the red but instead on the blue. It itches like crazy. The first time I had the rash I had squueezed the bumps and a watery substance had came out and there was no odor. It seems to be contained withing the tattoo because it doesn't go past the outline of the tattoo.
Avatar n tn You used lidocaine wipes directly on your penis. That's an analgesic albeit topical and numbs the nerves. It does work for some and is a non invasive way to extend things. How long the numbness lasts isn't really given to freely as there aren't a lot of studies. But if it is lasting significantly longer after using them? That's odd. It does deaden the nerve endings under your skin but it is to subside relatively quickly. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar n tn is it safe to use blood clotting spray for minor wounds&cuts for warfarin user?
Avatar f tn I got a tattoo when I turned 19. It's a plain black ink symbol on my upper right arm. It is completely black. It's been just about 3 year and I'm starting to think something may be wrong. It will randomly get puffy, itchy, the swollen parts get kinda hard, randomly burn, randomly sting where it feels like needles are stabbing into it(which is happening now),or any combination of those things. It's starting to drive me nuts.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago, I got my first tattoo on my inner ankle/leg while abroad. It did extremely well the first week. When I returned home, it looked completely healed, with the initial redness completely gone and no pain or itchiness. Unfortunately, a few days after that, the skin around the tattoo became red. Originally it was only a small area around the tattoo that was red, and I assumed that it would pass. It has since progressed to a fairly large area on my ankle, centering around the tattoo.
Avatar f tn this could be due to irritation or something else. Regardless, I would consult with a doctor. Something like a topical ointment such as lidocaine (numbing) can help incredibly.
Avatar m tn Probably to one of the chemical in the tattoo paint. Use a calamine lotion for the rash and also use a antihistaminic . If the problem persist consult a dermat immediately. Have a healthy living.
Avatar f tn I received my shipment today of ocean potion and rec. by another person on this site. I found it to provide instant relief of itching. It's temporary but still I would recommend it since it is so cheap. Much cheaper then Sarna. Huge bottles 20.5 oz each, like $3.50 a bottle. I got 2 shipped by wal mart since it's not available in Phoenix at wal mart or walgreens. Cost me $12 with tax and shipping. It's worth having in the arsenal, good for riba or incevik.
572651 tn?1530999357 I have no idea, but I've heard a couple of people say that they use lidocaine patches for their nerve pain - cut them up and stick the pieces on, wherever they're getting a pain.
Avatar f tn The only thing that seems to have worked is topical capsaicin but this is only effective for the itching around my anus and does not help my scrotal itching. The last specialist I went to told me it was most likely neurogenic and that there was nothing he could do (reassuring right). Since then I have done copious amounts of research. I found that it’s possibly linked to lumbosacral radiculopathy but wonder whether I’m way to young to have this.

Avatar n tn Topical symptomatic treatments such as topical lidocaine or benzyl alcohol (Zilactin) may help relieve symptoms. Using an antiviral medication may shorten the duration of cold sores if started very early. If you experience very frequent bouts, your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication as a cold sore treatment or to prevent cold sores.
Avatar n tn Many arthritis sufferers are in a panic over the shortage of Voltaren gel (diclofenac sodium gel) and I get why they are worried. Voltaren gel is a prescription topical anti-inflammatory gel used for all kinds of arthritis pain: rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and osteoarthritis of the knees, hands and hips. People who have stomach issues from taking anti-inflammatories by mouth can bypass that problem with Voltaren gel.
973741 tn?1342342773 ) Some here may have them or not. So, here is the just for fun question--- if you were to get a tattoo (or if you have one, this is about your NEXT one) . . . what would it be of and where would you put it?
