673999 tn?1226935279 Have your doctor write you a prescription for Lidocaine 2 % Gel ( called "Urojets")...this is a cartridge with topical Lidocaine that is injected directly into the urethra. Very commonly used by urologists as a local anesthestic both in the office and in the surgical setting, and I found it to be extremely helpful for IC. I couldn't have survived without it.
Avatar n tn Have had rectal pain for 2 months, thought it was hemorrhoids, GI and family doctors said it wasn't and didn't know what it was from for sure. Said to see a pain management doctor thinking it is a nerve in my recturm? However, I am confused as to what the pain management dr would do since no definite diagnosis. I tried everything over the counter including lidocaine with no relief. The pain is constant and only relief is when I sleep. Worried!!!
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm prescribed a lidoderm 5% patch, which is basically a patch infused with lidocaine. It helps with the nerve/muscle type pain I have in the lower left leg facing outward. By itself, for bad pain it wouldn't be worth the money, but I'm prescribed Lortab 10/650's ( a narcotic ) and the two used together seem to help lower this pain better than either one treatment alone.
Avatar n tn She would get little anal fissures so our family doctor wrote us a script for a compounded ointment but what really helped give her some relief was the Lidocaine topical gel our doctor prescribed for her. I put a small amount around her anus which created a numbing effect so that she would stop holding back when she had to go. I guess doctors use Lidocaine for numbing before different procedures and my doctor said it worked wonders for hemorrhoids, too.
Avatar f tn I received treatment for internal hemorrhoids every 6-12 months for about 15 years when I saw that it was too bloody. But I have just started with external hemorrhoids, which are don't bleed but painful. So first, you need to understand what type of hemorrhoids you have.
Avatar m tn Hi everybody! I'm new to this online forum stuff. But i developed internal hemorrhoids with this medicine and i'm having one heck of a time dealing with the pain. Went to collorectal surgeon last wednesday and he and my GI doctor decided to put me on suppositories for a week to see if swelling goes down. I dont think it's working. still hurts to go. I've missed 5 days work already because i have to do sitz baths every so many hours and obviously can't do that at work.
Avatar f tn I had an appointment last week and my doctor looked at them for me and prescribed me an ointment that uI can apply 4 times a day that has lidocaine in it as well. I.also wipe with flushable wipes rather than toilet paper. That seems to help me.
Avatar n tn I feel it would be safe to say you have hemmroids,, you get them from heavy lifting, sitting for long periods of time, straining during bowel movements endless reasons. and the itching may just be from not cleaning well enough after b.m.'s and the hemmroids make this more difficult,, I personally use baby wipes and if that doesn't help, ask your dr. for a perscription for Lidocaine HCI 3% and Hydrocortisone Acetate 2.5% Gel.
Avatar f tn Yea sounds like hemmorhoids. You can use some tuck pads after each time you use the restroom to relieve the pain and itching (if there's any) and take some stool softener daily and don't strain when you go.
Avatar n tn Dr will recommend topical like preperation h etc. I have never found them to help usually they make mine worse but you can give it a shot. At the hospital I was also told about a suppository method by a nurse. They are called Anusol suppositories. They shrink them from the inside and are safe to use during pregnancy. I haven't tried em yet. I have always found that a hot bath every two hours for twenty minutes helps ALOT and staying off my feet and my bum.
Avatar m tn try topical anelgesic cream it does wonders for mine, if that does not work ask your sdocto for somethin containg lidocaine
Avatar n tn physician assistant did digital rectal exam. no hemmrhoids, no bleeding when tested. gave me lidocaine 3% 0.5% hydrocortisone cream. started last night 1st of 20 applications. during night sleeping I felt a slight pin head or smaller like under the skin outside of anus around 4 o'clock position. It feels like a sharp like cartiliage like projection. when sitting on it is when it itches. I think the friction is causing the itching.
Avatar n tn You used lidocaine wipes directly on your penis. That's an analgesic albeit topical and numbs the nerves. It does work for some and is a non invasive way to extend things. How long the numbness lasts isn't really given to freely as there aren't a lot of studies. But if it is lasting significantly longer after using them? That's odd. It does deaden the nerve endings under your skin but it is to subside relatively quickly. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar n tn is it safe to use blood clotting spray for minor wounds&cuts for warfarin user?
Avatar f tn this could be due to irritation or something else. Regardless, I would consult with a doctor. Something like a topical ointment such as lidocaine (numbing) can help incredibly.
Avatar m tn I have had a red rash around my anus for a few months which was very itchy.I have resisted the urge to scratch and now the itchiness has gone but I have now discovered blood when passing stools and a small external hemorrhoid today. Is the rash because of the hemorrhoid and is it possible that the external hemorrhoid was infact an internal hemorrhoid which was the reason for the itchiness before??
Avatar n tn It would occur after a hard bowel movement and would produce blood for a few days. I assumed it was hemorrhoids. Even a flex. sig. suggested that it was hemorrhoids. Finally, after being referred to a Rectal Surgeon, it was diagnosed as an annal fissure. By now it had become chronic with no relief from the pain after a BM. The pain usually lasted about 6 hours and then gradually reduced as I would go into the evening.
9126885 tn?1404418392 Hemorrhoids are varicose veins – blood vessels that have become unusually swollen – that show up in the rectal area. Hemorrhoids typically range from the size of a raisin to the size of a grape. They can be merely itchy or downright painful, and sometimes they can even cause rectal bleeding, especially during a bowel movement. Sometimes the enlarged veins protrude through the anus. When this happens, you'll feel a soft, swollen mass. Hemorrhoids are relatively common during pregnancy.
Avatar m tn I am a 21 yr. old male and have a history of hemorrhoids. I had the banding procedure done about 6-8 months ago. I went to see a general surgeon 2 weeks ago because I was having rectal pain, discomfort and itching again. He told me I have pruritus ani. I was wondering if i shouldask to have an anoscopy done when I return to see him for a follow-up in two weeks? I would rather have an anoscopy done before him telling me to have a colonoscopy done. Thanks! .
Avatar f tn I received my shipment today of ocean potion and rec. by another person on this site. I found it to provide instant relief of itching. It's temporary but still I would recommend it since it is so cheap. Much cheaper then Sarna. Huge bottles 20.5 oz each, like $3.50 a bottle. I got 2 shipped by wal mart since it's not available in Phoenix at wal mart or walgreens. Cost me $12 with tax and shipping. It's worth having in the arsenal, good for riba or incevik.
Avatar n tn Hi, Hemorrhoids or piles are swelling and inflammation of veins in the rectum and anus. It is associated with bright red blood covering the feces, on toilet paper, and/or in the toilet bowl. This can be measured by degree of prolapse. In your friend's case, he is Grade II: the hemorrhoids prolapse upon defecation but spontaneously reduce. (ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemorrhoid) At this point, immediate consultation is not yet warranted.
572651 tn?1530999357 I have no idea, but I've heard a couple of people say that they use lidocaine patches for their nerve pain - cut them up and stick the pieces on, wherever they're getting a pain.
