Avatar m tn i did have a dry cough for about 3 to 4 days. direah for 2 days. and most of all is this very dry tongue. nothing seems to sooth it and i don't feel like i am producing any saliva. my tongue also feels sore and my taste buds are white and hairly like. like they are dehydrated. my tongue has been like this for about 6 to 7 weeks now.
Avatar f tn As was said, bad breath is caused by bacteria at the back of the tongue. A tooth brush with a tongue scraper on the back can be used to scrape the back of the tongue to get the bacteria off. Do this 2-3 times a day when you brush your teeth. Rinsing with an antibacterial rinse like Listerine can't hurt. But the main issue is the back of the tongue. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn A few months into the panic and testing, my noticed that my tongue suddenly presented with benign migratory glossitis(diagnosed by an ENT and Oral Surgeon), aka geographic tongue. This drove me nuts thinking I had thrush and further convinced me of HIV. The cough persisted and I started to get an on/off sore throat along with some aches in my neck.

Avatar n tn Hi, i am 6 weeks pregnant (first pregnancy) and noticed that my tongue turned black. I scrapped my tongue and the black color came off, but when i woke up today my tongue was again black. I am not taking any medication or ate anything of black color.
Avatar n tn Each time the activities that took place were french kissing, protected blowjob (apart from one time), unprotected cunnilingus (tongue deep in to the vagina) and protected sex. After the first month I had a couple of tests done that came back negative. Im very anxious that I have been infected with sexual diseases. I have been very stupid in my behaviour, i am a young guy and have learnt my lesson. What is the chances of me being infected with STD's or HIV/Aids.
Avatar m tn Ever since I have had strange foreign object sensations in the throat, a white furry tongue, rhinitis, sinusitis, headaches, laryngitis and intermittent facial pains around the upper teeth area. I always want to clear my throat but can't and the whole thing is driving me crazy. I have been tested three times for HIV (after six weeks, five months and seven months) and all three tests were negative. Swabs have been taken of the back of the throat and tongue and nothing has been found.
Avatar f tn Got what appears to be a rash on my tongue and after looking it up it appears to be geographic tongue and I was wondering if geographic tongue was indicative of any diseases. I recently posted on the HIV forum and was told I was in a no risk category but maybe Im just being stupid but I recently developed this rash that I never noticed before and was hoping for any insight on whether this is a symptom of any diseases. I also drink a lot and have been stressed a lot so maybe those contribute.
Avatar m tn Hi, I tried the picture links and couldn't open them. But, here's some information for you any way. What you 'sound' to be describing does sound like geographic tongue. It has a patch that has a whitish border around it. It is kind of like what something would look like on a map (geographic . . .). Here's some information and the link has a picture that you can copare to what you have. https://www.mayoclinic.

Avatar m tn - Unintentional weight loss, muscle wasting - Inconsistent bowel movements (changes from color to mass [solid, loss]) - Facial outbreaks (pimples mostly on the jawline and the corner of the mouth) It would be great if anyone in this forum can help list down diseases that could cause this.
Avatar m tn Hello everyone I have some questions that none seems to be able answear...i've been sufering from geographic tongue (bald patches on surface of tongue) my main concern is: I don't know if these patches are like open windows for other infections to go in like cuts or open sores I don't want to put my self at risk for any other diseases specialy during oral sex...
Avatar f tn Yes it is possible to have more than one autoimmune disease and there is an organization dedicated to researching multiple autoimmune diseases, MADGC or Multiple Autoimmune Disease Genetics Consortium. Interesting to look at the website, because Graves Disease and MS are 2 of the 5 diseases listed under "Do any of these diseases run in your family?" http://www.madgc.org/madgc/WhatIsMADGC.
Avatar m tn I did ask my dentist about them he basically said the factors that could cause but didn't mention diseases. What types of diseases can cause canker sores? Do these diseases only cause canker sores or do they do other damage to the body? I'll make sure to bring it up to a physician my next visit.

Avatar f tn I am really concerned as I engaged in deep tongue kissing with a man I'd just met and was on antibiotics so my tongue was raw from thrush. What is the risk of contracting HIV or Hepatitis with a raw tongue? I also noticed from about an hour afterwards that I had a bad taste in my mouth and my lips and tongue starting burning and still are burning a week later. What could be causing this? My doctor suspects Herpes and I'm on oral Acyclovir. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Avatar m tn In addition, consistent and correct use of latex condoms reduces the risk of other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including diseases transmitted by genital secretions, and to a lesser degree, genital ulcer diseases. Condom use may reduce the risk for genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV-associated diseases, e.g., genital warts and cervical cancer.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the suggestion. Are you asking for us to create a new forum specifically for people with Devic's Disease? Or are you asking that we list this at the top of the Autoimmune Disorders community (http://www.medhelp.org/forums/show/174)?
Avatar f tn You can have other autoimmune diseases show up before or after Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I have autoimmune pernicious anaemia, vitiligo, alopecia areta and Hashimoto's thyroiditis (which showed up last in my case). There is an article on the blog Outsmart Disease - "List of diseases associated with Hashimoto's thyroiditis" which you might like to check out. It's a fairly long list and mentions premature ovarian failure.
