detrol

Avatar f tn DETROL LA Capsules contain tolterodine tartrate. The active moiety, tolterodine, is a muscarinic receptor antagonist. The recommended dose of DETROL LA Capsules are 4 mg daily. DETROL LA should be taken once daily with liquids and swallowed whole. The dose may be lowered to 2 mg daily based on individual response and tolerability. Avatar n tn but you must make sure it is the generic for toprol xl because there is metoprolol succinate which is the generic for toprol xl and metoprolol tartrate which is the generic for lopressor. They both work in two different ways so they can not be interchanged at the same dose. I asked this question before toprol xl became a generic.
Avatar n tn On my second visit to the ER, they prescribed 50 mg of metoprolol tartrate twice per day. Now my doctor wants me to take an SSRI to help the anxiety. I tried 50 mg of Zoloft but had severe nausea and anxiety the first day and stopped it. Now my doctor has prescribed 10 mg. of Paxil but I am hesitant to take it since drug interaction warnings and my pharmacist say it could lower my blood pressure too much.
Avatar n tn I change last week from Metroprol to Metoprolol Tartrate because te Tartrate is $4.00. so maybe that new med is what is causing the issue.
Avatar m tn This was not it. Almost a week ago, my doctor prescribed Detrol LA 2mg (Tolterodine L-tartrate 2mg) capsules, to be taken once a day. I first started taking them a week and a half ago, and they don't seem to have had an effect. It's for a condition called "overactive bladder", however, the symptoms of this condition don't really match mine. I also drink lots of water every day, and I don't have diabetes.
Avatar f tn My husband takes metoprolol tartrate. He only has one month of medication left and refuses to go back to the Dr. How can I wean him off of the drug so he doesn't have a heart attack or something?
1027737 tn?1253103788 I think tartrate is fast acting where the other is time released if I remember right.
1933354 tn?1323362834 Keep in mind that when you switched from Toprolol ER (Metoprolol Succinate) to Lopressor (Metoprolol Tartrate), you lost the timed released advantage. If you were taking 25mg. pills of each medication, you are loosing a great deal of the latter drug's effectiveness as the day wears on. The half life of Metoprolol Tartrate is only 3-7 hours. So you must take it at least twice a day for it to be effective the entire 24 hour period. Also 25mg., once a day is a a very small dose.
Avatar f tn Hello, my doctor is currently weaning me off the beta blocker Metoprolol tartrate and he told me told me to start by taking half in the morning and half at night so I just wanted to make sure that this medication can be cut in half.....?
612551 tn?1450022175 Wow, no one wants to touch this one. I must be the only one who "worries" about drug costs, and I have a private insurance plan connected to CVS. Like many (most) drug plans I have to pay something even with insurance. The Tartrate I pay the whole cost, still much lower than Suc for me. Tartrate is generally available from the pharmacies offering a $10, 90 supply, that's 180 tablets.
7510956 tn?1411671417 I was given Metropolol Tartrate and I took the Meds for 2 months (25mg). I then got off them since I felt it could have been anxiety and never had episodes again until last month I began to have them again. I felt afraid as I did the first time and I began taking half of the Metropolol (25mg) each morning to see how I do. This time again I felt the urge to go to the ER but I did not since I know all they are going to do is send me to a cardiologist.
Avatar m tn I am on Metoprolol Tartrate 25MG 2 twice a day. Within 30 mins of taking Metoprolol, I feel the effects and I feel great. My BP and it drops to 100/60 and my heart rate drops to 70 or even 65 BPM. I don't have any side effects from this med. That being said, the issue I'm running into is that the Metoprolol doesn't seem to last as long as it should. If I take the Metaprolol at 7am, by the time 3pm comes around, my BP is 135/92 and my heart rate can get as high as 120 BPM.
15860670 tn?1443541254 What that means is if you take a 100mg tablet of Metoprolol Tartrate, within 5 to 7 hours, half of the drug has been metabolized, and you have approximately half the level remaining within you. I assume that you take your daily dose approximately 12 hours apart. So in 12 hours, when you take your second pill of the day, there remains a small amount in your blood from the first pill.
Avatar m tn Metoprolol comes in two formulations, Metoprolol Tartrate and Metoprolol Succinate. If you were prescribed the Tartrate variety, 50mg, once a day as you stated, then you were on a beta blocker roller coaster with a steep peak followed by a deep valley. Metoprolol has a rather short half life of approximately 6 hours, so in 24 hours, 50mg is nearly completely metabolized. This type should be taken twice a day.
Avatar n tn I was struggling with side effects from Cardiezem and asked to have my medicine changed, so I was put on 50 mg Metroprolol Tartrate per day, but began to suffer some nasty side effects--headaches, dizziness, nausea, abdominal cramps, lucid dreams, runny nose, and my heart rate dropped from 75-85 bpm to 45 to 55 bpm's depending on what I was doing. When I would sleep it dropped into the low 40's, and I couldn't focus at work, couldn't exercise.
Avatar n tn AMBIEN 12.5 MG, or ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE 12.5 MG SA Tab September 2, 2013 Yesterday afternoon I asked my wife; who installed the new vanity, sink, and mirrors in our rental unit upstairs; which was accomplished, only three days ago; as I could not remember. She replied, "Do you remember, who installed the new ceiling lamp in the kitchen?
Avatar n tn We went to see the doctor, the doctor asked my dad to stop taking METOPROLOL TARTRATE (BETALOC) which he has been taking for a long time. The doctor just said if my dad feels chest pain again, send him to the emergency room. What do you think the issue is? is it normal to become like this after the angioplasty? Why did the doctor ask my dad to stop taking the Metoprolol Tartrate?
Avatar f tn Oh, also I'm on the tartrate 2x a day. Are you on time release or tartrate? And how many per day?
Avatar n tn I agree on the Tartrate, I changed from Metoprolol ER (or whatever the designation is for slow release on this drug) to Tart for two reasons, One the cost is much lower and I like the 12 hour recharge at half the rate better... just don't fully trust the slower release over a 24 hour period.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Metoprolol Tartrate (50mg/2XD) last Monday due to HBP. When I went back to my doctor for a follow up on Friday, he also decided to put me on Xanax (PRN) and Celexa (10mg/1XD). I always research any medication I take, and have been reading that the Metoprolol Tartrate and the Citaprolam are a bad combination and can lead to extremely low blood pressure or even heart stoppage.
Avatar m tn Hello I am 61 yrs old and I been using metoprolol tartrate 25 mgs twice daily and I been noticed I feel funny when I been working on gardening greenhouse and feel weak and I check my blood pressure its normal but heart rate low avgs like 50 sometime later on normal mostly low heart beating what cause it ?? Avatar f tn Hello everyone. I had sexual side effects from taking Metoprolol Tartrate. Are there any BP meds that I can take that do not cause these effects? I have heard of some that I could speak to my doctor about. But I wanted to ask here to see what advice I get from this forum. Thanks so much.
12182312 tn?1427683956 SSRIs like paroxetine are a type of antidepressant that works by increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain, while metoprolol is a beta blocker which works on the heart. What type of metoprolol are you taking. Metoprolol Tartrate or Metoprolol Succinate?
Avatar f tn Hello, I am going to be applying to receive a medical marijuana card for treatment of my Tourette, severe anxiety disorder and PTSD. I take 25mg of Metoprolol Tartrate every morning solely for anxiety to slow my heart rate down (I tend to get anxiety episodes where tachycardia is the main symptom). I’m wondering if anyone (preferably a doctor, of course) would know if medical cannabis would interact with beta blockers, such as Metoprolol Tartrate.
