The recommended dose of DETROL LA Capsules are 4 mg daily. DETROL LA should be taken once daily with liquids and swallowed whole. The dose may be lowered to 2 mg daily based on individual response and tolerability.

This was not it. Almost a week ago, my doctor prescribed Detrol LA 2mg (Tolterodine L-tartrate 2mg) capsules, to be taken once a day. I first started taking them a week and a half ago, and they don't seem to have had an effect. It's for a condition called "overactive bladder", however, the symptoms of this condition don't really match mine.
I also drink lots of water every day, and I don't have diabetes.

I was told detrol or other meds to help incontinence would not help with stress incontinence. Thank you. It is a very big and embarrising problem for me. I am single and in my mid 40's. I have read about this injection that can be administered but at this time I do not have insurance am I am unable to afford it.
but you must make sure it is the generic for toprol xl because there is metoprolol succinate which is the generic for toprol xl and metoprolol tartrate which is the generic for lopressor. They both work in two different ways so they can not be interchanged at the same dose. I asked this question before toprol xl became a generic.
I just want to know if i will have to deal with this for the rest of my life or if it will eventually go away! How long will it take for the detrol to start working? I do have a history of anxiety and do feel there must be a link. Any words of encouragement or what to do next would be helpful. I thank you in advance for your help!
We went to see the doctor, the doctor asked my dad to stop taking METOPROLOL TARTRATE (BETALOC) which he has been taking for a long time. The doctor just said if my dad feels chest pain again, send him to the emergency room. What do you think the issue is? is it normal to become like this after the angioplasty? Hello I am 61 yrs old and I been using metoprolol tartrate 25 mgs twice daily and I been noticed I feel funny when I been working on gardening greenhouse and feel weak and I check my blood pressure its normal but heart rate low avgs like 50 sometime later on normal mostly low heart beating what cause it ?? Should have to be cut down once daily instead twice daily just wondering my appt Dr next week pls reply thank you ...

My doctor had tried me on Vesicare but the side effects out weight the benefits. I was given Buscopan and Detrol LA to cope with bladder problems. I had a lot of problems with pain spasms and urgency. The Buscopan and Detrol LA help but in a case where I have severe pain, I now use Morphine.
There are two type of Metoprolol, Tartrate and Succinate. With Metoprolol Tartrate, you take it twice a day, usually 12 hours apart. Maximum plasma levels occur about an hour after taking in and it begins to be metabolized. Typically, the dose is reduced 50% every 4 to 5 hours. This is why it's taken twice a day. Metoprolol Succinate is the time release version. It's taken once a day and is slowly metabolized throughout a 24 hr. period.
It is availabe injectable or nasal spray. STADOL (butorphanol tartrate) Injection and STADOL NS (butorphanol tartrate) Nasal Spray are listed in Schedule IV of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).

My neurologist recently put me on a Detrol LA for a week, then had me add Flomax. I noticed a slight improvement with the Detrol, but when I added the Flomax things urinary got dramatically better. But, shortly after starting the Flomax, I discovered that I did not produce any ejaculate! Not that sex is a big thing with me (staying upright while standing takes precidence), but it is still an important part of life (if only rarely).
Yes, Metoprolol Succinate is the timed release. It is also way more expensive than Metoprolol Tartrate. I switched long ago to the latter and saved a lot of money. A dose costs literally pennies. You have to remember to take it twice a day though. I take it at "5 and 5"; at rising, and at dinner, and it's easy to remember.
Metoprolol has the same bradycardia effect as Atenolol, so that has to be watched.
My symptoms did not improve and I began on Vesicare, which did not help, and now I am on Detrol LA. This does not seem to be helping either. I am continuing to urinate 20-30 times a day. Sitting also makes it worse. Please help. I cannot continue to live like this.

I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? I dont want to live with this, making me very upset. I appreciate it and thanks.
