Avatar f tn Some people even with a healthy thyroid have thyroid nodules. One does have to have a thyroid disease to have nodules there. Odd, but true.

Avatar f tn my ultra sound report says I have 2-nodules on my thyroid, approx. 5 & 6 mm was told not to worry. Nodules or cyst under 10mm/1cm are not being removed. I also have a problem with my weight . Is it possible that it has something to do with my thyroid?
Avatar f tn I was feeling my neck a few months ago and noticed a bump...I didn't think much of it because my glands get swollen from time to time even when I'm not sick. But it has not gone away and I think it might be growing. It's right near my thyroid and my mom has thyroid problems and I know my aunt had to have surgery on hers but I'm not sure why.
740586 tn?1247662758 How big are your nodules. Many people have nodules but not are always very big. It really depends on the size of them. Do you have the size i.e., in centimetres or millimetres?
Avatar f tn I had a utlrasound done, the results were multiple nodules of cystic and solid components. 8 nodules on both lobes. largest nodules measure 9.7 x 13.7 x 8mm have a few that size. Not sure what this really means.
Avatar f tn which results were enlarged thyroid lobes which demonstrate diffuse heterogeneous echotexture and nodularity w/o evidence of definite discrete nodules. thyroid lobes are symmetrically enlarged. right thyroid lobe measures 7.6x2.5x3.4cm. left lobe 7.4.x 2 x 2.5 cm. the isthumus appears thickened and measures 6mm. the thyroid lobes appear nodular throughout w/o evidence of discrete thyroid nodules......i just went for a nuclear thyroid uptake scan......
Avatar n tn Thyroid nodules are a good indication of further thyroid issues, either currently present or soon to show up. It's not the least unusual for symptoms to be present, before labs indicate an issue, particularly, if Hashimoto's is present. Doctors are not infallible and often do not rely enough on symptoms.
Avatar f tn Endocrinologist found 1 dime size nodule and 1 just under that size on the right side of my thyroid after a ultrasound. Is it normal for a doctor to wait 6 months to do another ultrasound for growth? These were found during a chest xray for pneumonia.
Avatar n tn I have multiple nodules, biopsy came back benign ,but surgeon wants to do a partial removal of the thyroid. I was reading about laser removal of the nodules, but Spokane wa doesn't have any. Does Wa. state have any ent doctors that use laser to remove nodules. I have never had general surgery, it scares me. I was told there is no rush to have the surgery.
Avatar f tn Thyroid labs don't always tell you what is going on with your nodules. Many of us have had nodules and completely normal labs. Have you had a thyroid ultrasound and, if so, do you have the results of your ultrasound? The size of the nodules is important (they can get so large they start compressing structures in your throat - my daughter's was compressing her jugular) and some thyroid nodules can be suspicious (complex and solid nodules).
Avatar n tn m really concerned because all these nodules are hypoechoic. Can it be indicative of cancer? I have a history of thyroid cancer in my family. Is this US result usual for Hashimoto's thyreoiditis? Are these hypoechoic nodules indicative of inflamation?
Avatar n tn My doctor sent me for tests and I was told that I have 2 or 3 nodules on my thyroid. The doctor said several years ago not to be concerned with them because they were small in size. This year I asked about them again and she told me not to worry about them. My question now is since I'm still having pain and it's now affecting my ear should I inquire about them again? I also believe I'm in early stage menopause.
Avatar f tn Your nodules are quite small; many/most of us with Hashimoto's have thyroid nodules and unless they have unusual characteristics or grow extremely fast, they are usually not a concern. Do you have symptoms of a thyroid condition? Have you had antibody tests to confirm/rule out an autoimmune thyroid disease, which can be present even with so called "normal" values?
14471876 tn?1434691155 I am 39 years old, thyroid right has a 11mm*17mm of nodules, the left has 3 less than 10mm*10mm, before I had a puncture, found that nodules were benign.
243059 tn?1202377352 My thyroid has been aching ever since I started taking Synthroid. I first took the generic brand then switched to regular Synthroid ( the more expensive kind.) I am stil experiencing discomfort on both sides of my neck where your thyroid is located. I have had my thyroid " palpitated" to see if the docs feel anything but they never seem alarmed. Can Nodules be found by simply pressing on your thyroid? Has anyone else had pain in their thyroid since being on their meds?
164435 tn?1377102256 3mm and 2mm are relatively small nodules from my understanding. Did he/she recommend any further watching of those nodules or explanations as to your neck swelling? Any unexplained fevers? Perhaps, going back to your family doc and asking for a referral to another endo for at least a second opinion is warranted here. Certainly, having unexplained weight loss is something (even if it has nothing to do with your thyroid) to be looked at.
Avatar n tn In continuing with thryoid check-ups the following was found. In Dec. the nodules were 20.5x13.6.11.7, in May they were 25x13x19 with a benign diagnosis which is good. However, does one keep having biopsies every six months until something suspicious shows up or is there a point when they become a certain size they should be removed?
