Avatar f tn Have you tried talking to someone about some of your problems. A good friend, your pastor would be great as sometimes our view points are not what they really are. I have been learning alot about myself by going to counselling along with the thyroid meds etc. I have found that a lot of the things that I believed about myself were lies that I picked up over the years. As I realize the truth it is freeing me to view my life in a more positive manner.
Avatar m tn What is the actual normal range for the white blood cell count? This would have to come from your lab report. Is your doctor recommending more tests to find out why the count is rising? That can be caused by so many different things, ranging from an infection to cancer, that I can not even comment on it. Cramping leg muscles/charlie horses can be caused by numerous issues, as well; I get them when I have too little potassium; have you had that tested?
Avatar f tn I have owned and rode horses all my life. I am having difficulty coping with not being able to ride because ppl told me I cant. Is it seriously that big a deal to ride? I don't want to hurt my baby, but it's literally the only thing I have done for myself and can't deal with giving it up for so long...
Avatar m tn What thyroid medication are you taking and what dosage? Also, please post your thyroid test results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report.
334876 tn?1229979296 but if it is Strangles, it is best to let it run its course. My horses had it for 3 weeks or so (even the ones who had been vaccinated against it)....some were worse off than others. Please take the horses temperature a few times per day and keep a record of that. Please keep a record of everything you notice everytime you visit your horse (frequently, to monitor the situation).l=...this will help you understand if running its course is working, or if the situation is getting worse.
519035 tn?1348275773 You probably should see your doc again for a full workup ... just to be certain and doe the right thing for it. If it's thyroid related, perhaps you have an underproductive thyroid, but only bloodwork could determine that.
Avatar m tn I am not real familiar with clenbuterol -- I do know it's used primarily for respiratory problems in horses and is not recommended for humans. It's totally banned in the US, although it appears that there ARE countries who allow limited use for humans. Cytomel is a thyroid med and should never be used for weight loss purposes, since it can cause hyperthyroidism, which can be very dangerous.
541953 tn?1262586226 I just watched Toby Keith's new movie Beer for my horses. He is so Hot! Love the man, makes me happy tonight. Don't ask what the movie was about I was too busy watchingToby. Guess I am like Vicuser is about Valerie.
Avatar f tn Both can be pretty nasty as far as symptoms go and neither are good for your body. Although in my personal opinion, after seeing my friend with hyperthyroidism loose 25 lbs in a month, vomit after eating anything, have freakish abscess and horrifying blood pressure, have miscarriages and frequent panic attacks. And THEN become anemic because of the medicine they gave her- I'm thankful for my under active thyroid.
Avatar f tn I am currently 29 weeks and 4 days, and for the past 2 weeks I've been having charlie horse cramping in my calves that wake me up out of my sleep. They are very painful... and I was wondering if any other moms out there ever had this happen to them. I called my doctor and they ordered some tests stat.
Avatar f tn I am 32 weeks and now I am getting really bad charley horses. Do any one else has this problem how do you solve it?
Avatar f tn Having horses for many years I am certain it's fly allergies. You can put a fly mask on him during the day and take it off at night. If you are boarding have the care taker feeding the horses take it off for you and put it on in the mornings if your not there. In his morning grain you can give him benadrill about 4 pink pills once in the morning with his feeding or evening if he eats grain in the evening hours.
Avatar f tn Why is it that when pregnant you get more charlie horses that hurt ten times worse then when your not Pregnant? And how the heck do I get rid of it cause I burst into tears now everytime I get them.
Avatar f tn Ok ladies please tell me what you have done for charlie horses. It last about three days!!
Avatar f tn Last night I kept waking up with a charlie horse more then once in both legs n now my legs are really really sore. What can I do to stop these damn Charlie horses?
Avatar n tn I'm 26 weeks and every night for the last week or two I've been waking myself up in the middle of the night with a Charlie horse in my leg. Then I usually fix it but then a bit later it'll be my other leg. I know it's not a dietary thing because I take my prenatals everyday and usually drink an organic juice cleanse that has 100% of daily fruits and vegetables in it. Has any one else experienced this while pregnant and know why?
Avatar f tn At night when I stretch or randomly I will get the worst leg cramps where I cry and it won't go away for like 15 seconds. Any one else have this problem, any splutions? I try to rub my leg better, but sometimes it doesn't work. Last pregnancy it happened as well, and I tried walking but that didn't go so well either.

1903798 tn?1333905288 I already have connective tissue spasticity issues and now am getting charlie horses. I woke up with one in my calf a few days ago that was so tight I broke out into a sweat. Last night I had one in my behind muscle and today my thigh. Can this be the chiari too?
2142029 tn?1336185330 Some of these people it is simply being low Thyroid (Hypo) and not being treated for it simply because their lab test show them to be "somewhere" within the normal or reference range. Many times the Firbo sysmptoms are lessened or eliminated when they are given Thyroid medication. Not saying this is the case for you. I'm just saying evaluating FULLY thyroid levels and being treated is worth investigating.
