Avatar f tn I always saw the discharge during ovulation. Is there a connection? Both my thyroid and fertility doctor, didn't see a connection. I debating of trying IUI. Any suggestions or comments?
Avatar f tn So first they just said its normal when I forced them to tell the value they said 4.4 My thyroid doctor and my fertility doctor are different. My fertility doctor had mentioned my thyroid values be lower level of normal i.e. between 1 and 2. But my thyroid doctor considers 4.5 as normal. What should I do? I dont have any severe external hypothyroid symptoms but I have infertility. What do you guys think I should do? should I change my thyroid doctor?
Avatar n tn I keep in touch with many of my team mates and noticed that 4 out of 5 of them are now suffering from major thyroid and adrenal disfunction. If your thyroid or adrenals are off in any way it can cause massive weight gain (especially in the lower extremities), mood swings, all kinds of things including problems with cycles & fertility. Unfortunately all four of the girl's (all were bulimic) are now having major problems with conception.
Avatar f tn This journey started when I had low TSH levels about 2 years ago and included a couple different endocrinologists and multiple tests (including the most recent, Thyroid Uptake and Scan) along the way. I do have some nodules, but after 2 ultrasounds and a biopsy, they are not concerned with them. They have prescribed Metformin for the PCOS, but I am still not ovulating, so they were going to give me Clomid to continue to help with the infertility.
Avatar f tn What kind of tests doctors do for fertility on men and women? What's the first thing to check?
Avatar f tn Hi. It is great that you have a diagnosis! The antibodies will likely remain positive. They sometimes lower with treatment. I think if the TSH is low enough, then the antibodies won't cause more trouble. Their job is to attack the thyroid and reduce it's ability to produce thyroid hormone. Now that you are starting to get the correct amount of hormone from the meds, you are negating that effect. Most doctors say that thyroid antibodies themselves cause no symptoms.
1634959 tn?1308410002 At best it is an indicator to be considered along with more important indicators such as symptoms, and also levels of the biologically active thyroid hormones, free T3 and free T4 (not the same as total T3 and total T4). FT3 is actually the most important test, since FT3 largely regulates metabolism and many other body functions. Studies have shown that FT3 correlated best with hypo symptoms, while FT4 and TSH did not correlate.
Avatar n tn Healthy eating began and although I could have been treated naturally for thyroid, this may not have helped and in any case would take months to see any results. As a result I sought medical treatment and hashimotos was officially confirmed. Ordinarily they would not treat anyone with this until the thyroid started to pack up. I asked if I could be treated with thyroxin to at least try and help me to get pregnant. I was prescribed the smallest does 50mcg a day?? Not sure on units.
Avatar f tn I have been to the fertility doc and had numerous blood tests, ultrasounds and laproscopic surgery. He could find no medical reason why I was not conceiving. He called it "idiopathic". I was supposed to start the fertility drug clomid this week-until my TSH went to 66.97. So no doctor has given me an answer as to why I stopped having periods and cannot get pregnant. They also keep trying to tell me it is not related to my thyroid. I just don't know what to think.
Avatar n tn My husband and I have been trying ever since last year, (July 2010). I had some thyroid problems and finally got it regulated in May 2011. I am on 100mg of clomid, what I was wondering if I can ovulate again because I think I missed my ovulation time last month?
1105753 tn?1374287348 t know much about this - all I can say is that my colleague went to a well known RE here in NY and he suggested a special diet including cutting out all gluten and dairy (and she did not have any history of gluten intolerance) So there must be some connection - but she also has pretty severe endometriosis.
341207 tn?1224245896 hi everyone , i ve had problems with both hyper and hypo thyroidism the last 5 years , first started with my first m/c then took me 5 months to conceive my son who is nearly 4 ( was on thyroxine during his pregnancy for underactive) then was diagnosed with graves last year in march ( form of overactive) have been ttc since april last year then my levels went to normal from sep 2007 till now it is underactive again and my endocrionolgist said to postpone ttc till levels are back to normal when i
Avatar n tn I am on 112mg synthroid and the highest I've been on is 139mg. My thyroid has been going up and down for a while. I went off of birth control about 1 year to the day and I am pretty sure that being off that has made my thyroid way off. In december I though I may be pregnant because I didn't get my period. In March I finally got my thyroid set so I was ready to get on clomid, 50mg. They put me on progestrone to get my period.
1753423 tn?1312991992 With proper regulation of TSH with levothyroxine, the fertility rate and miscarriage rate is greatly improved in patients with Hashimoto's.
282955 tn?1394730951 My co-worker mentioned something about her thyroid and pregnancy at 37. She said she saw a chairopractor and found out that her thyroid is not normal by looking at her charts. She said hers where below 97.8 during cd2 till CD4. I am not really sure what she was saying but would like to know if any of you ladies had the same problem. She said After the herbal medication given to her. thyroid got fixed and got PG in a month.
1129232 tn?1360800358 Do any of you have or have knowledge of how thryoid and ANA antibodies can affect fertility? I have one son who is almost 2 1/2 years old (got pregnant 3 mos after trying with him and had an uneventful/normal pregnancy). When my son turned 1, we decided we wanted to get pregnant again since i was almost 37 years old. 1 year and 1/2 later, I'm still not pregnant. My obgyn couldn't figure it out and decided we do laproscopic surgery.
Avatar f tn i have been on thyroid medication for a year and a half. My FSH has been stable since I was 38 and I am now 42. It is around 20 and my AMH was low the one time I had it done. I think doctor's still do not know a lot about how to treat us. Sounds like you are already on thyroid meds? Get your TSH around 1 and see if that helps you conceive. This summer my TSH went up and they doubled my dosage and I feel a lot better. I have my TSH tested often now because fertility meds make it go up.
Avatar n tn Hypothyroidism is not listed as a side effect associated with Mirena and hormonal birth control methods typically do not affect the thyroid. It is best to consult a doctor and discuss your concerns. I sincerely hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar f tn I am 32 yrs old and have two benign thyroid nodules. Dr says all tests are within the normal range but would not give me the exact levels. I experience nearly all symptoms of both hypo and hyper thyroidism, including swelling and pain around the nodules which is very visible. I have been ttc for three years and had a miscarraige at 8wks about 16 months ago. I have had three other miscarraiges when I was younger, one being a blighted ovum.
Avatar f tn I have just undergone further testing which shows I have a very small thyroid and am waiting to see what medication I will start. I would be most grateful to have your opinion on whether this can be treated, particuarly in regard to fertility and if there is anything I should/could be doing to help?
Avatar f tn I’ve been trying like crazy to lose weight the smart way with eating healthy and exercise, but I’ve been gaining weight. Come to find out my thyroid is off again. I don’t understand what causes my thyroid to go out of whack like that. My endocrinologist is really good with diabetic patients, but I think I am going to find a new doctor since she has not been very helpful with my thyroid problems. I am on 225mcg of Synthroid now after my blood work came back TSH 3rd generation came back 4.
