My dermatologist decided it was time to give accutane a try. I did a 7 month course and reached the target cumulative dose of 120 mg/kg. I did not have much of an initial breakout, was pretty much clear for months 3 to 6. Near the end of my course I started to get a few zits.
It has now been three weeks post-accutane, and I am starting to get more and more whiteheads. Not the big inflamed whiteheads I used to get but it looks like things are returning.

Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
Treatment is either with oral or topical antibiotics (to kill acne-causing bacteria on the skin), topical retinoids (such as Differin or Retin-A), or anti-androgens (female patients only).
If standard treatments result in failure or relapse your GP can refer you to a dermatologist for Roaccutane (oral Isotretinoin), the most powerful acne treatment available.
What acne medication are you currently using? Retin-A will clear acne and heal the bruise-like scars you describe.

ve been off retin A for 3 weeks and my skin has become much more crepey and thin looking. It looks awful and I am praying she is right that it will eventually rebuild itself and look better. Is she right, will the crepey skin get better and plump up once my lipids rebuild? Or have I caused permanent damage?
Extremely sensitive skin- adverse reactions to salicylic acid and anything higher than a 2% benzoyl peroxide. Have tried differin, retin-a, duac, also natural solutions such as tea tree oil, lemon, honey, coconut, eggs, yogurt, witch hazel. Also have tried systems such as proactiv and muriad to no avail. Have completely overhauled my diet- hardly any sugar, no white/ refined starches, very little dairy, no red meat, lots of veggies, lots of water. No caffine, little to no alcohol.
Angebelle, thanks for your reply. That is good news about the Retin-A. I am going to a dermatologist in a few weeks, and and am going to ask for it. I always thought it was only for acne, so wish I knew sooner! I appreciate your descriptions about your Mom's skin. In the meantime, I will use my Vichy, which is highly rated, but as you say, is not prescription strength..

Abt two months ago, I was prescribed Solodyn, I use neutrogena creamy wash, Retin-A and some hydroquinone for the dark spots. The solodyn make me break out in a HEAP of HIVES !! so I stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago and now I have been prescribe Bactrim?
It seems that antibiotics are the ONLY thing that cure my acne since I have really oily skin. The topicals dry it out in the beginning, and I only apply a little, but then my sebaceous glands quickly make up for the lack of oil.
HI....theres a very fine line between the 2 and im a firm believer one leads to the other in most people if you have been taking narcotics as perscribed round the clock for several months you become dependent on them and will have to go threw withdrawals to get off them addiction is when you cross some of these lines....you run your script out early by taking more then prescribed...

have you ever felt a gold fish swim in a bag of water?!?! That light swooshing is simular to the baby moving. Also when a fish pecks at the bag is simular to the kicks!
I alway been able to feel the baby by laying on my belly (at this point of pregnancy it won't hurt baby)! If you lay on your belly and feel that fish movement you will know if it's gas or movement when you are not laying on your belly!

old and he has being under treatment for flat warts on his face for the past 3 months. Retin-A over night. I do not see the flat warts going away, but spreading more toward his neck. What should I do? My next appointment with his dermatologist is at the end of the month. Is there any relationship between children that are lactose intolerant and flat warts? lack of any enzyme?
My last blood workup seemed to be normal. Again, whats the difference between a LARGE thyroid and ENLARGED thyroid? I cannot find "large" thyroid on the web. Anybody???

s the difference between combined p24 antigen and antibody 4th generation test and DUO test? or are they all the same? because i had the 4th generation test.
So is just like tons of pressure? On the back? Or is it also accommodated by spasm like pains?

With all the commercials you see on TV about YAZ and Yasmin and all the problems it has caused, i cant imagine that the positives out weigh the negatives. Currently I am on Levlen birth control, it has the minimum amount of estrogen and it works wonderful! But because everyone is different, i would suggest doing some research on birth control types and find whats best for her, then talk to a doctor about those types you have looked over.
