thalidomide used in the past was thought safe.
I have had skin samples taken, blood test done and it all comes back negative. I have used all sorts of creams which thins my skin, all kinds of steroids that increased my weight but nothing seems to help. Need help.
Someone said that Topotecan worked better when combined with thalidomide -- don't know much more about it than that, although when I have chemo again (when the Arimidex doesn't hold my counts steady anymore) they are threatening me with topotecan next.
One month ago he used the Topisal ointment on a boil on his leg and it made a mess, he got a infection on that leg and a large blister with pus all around the lower leg and swelling, it looks like that leg got severe burn. We consult the doctor again and he prescribed with some antiboitics sefdin, metrogyl and vibact and flutibact ointment but now it's been one month but still their is some swelling and the some lesion are still their.
Now today we consult the Doc.
I have these red lumps on my legs of various sizes. It hurts to walk, and now I ache all over. They weren't really itching until today, but now they've started to. I saw my dr. about them, and he said it was erythema nodosum as a result of an allergic reaction to Levaquin. However, since then I've had minor difficulty breathing. I'm an asthmatic, so that's not abnormal, but still... Any help would be appreciated.
The only thing I can think of would be nerve ending damage which can happen while having treatment. Ask your doctor about that. I had it and it is not nice.
Just to be on the safe side. You never know... Thalidomide was once considered safe too, but the result was catastrophic!
Hmm I did have a look online so many ppl who have take it in there pergancy have had baby/children with heart defect doctors should give you heads up before handing it over like it is safe to take
Has anyone found anything else that lessons the symtoms of this? I recently started the Topotecan/Thalidomide course which could add to this problem.

Prurigo nodularis is very hard to treat, but current therapies include steroids, vitamins, cryosurgery, thalidomide and UVB light. In the event that staphylococcus or other infection is present, antibiotics have proven effective.
A physician may administer a strong dose of prednisone, which will almost immediately stop the itch/scratch cycle. However, cessation of steroids allows relapse to occur, usually within a few weeks.
Hi, my father had Zevalin 3 years ago and I became rather familiar with it. In fact, I ended up rewriting large parts of the Zevalin article on wikipedia.
It is so expensive and apparently so powerful that it can seem very promising. But I guess my point is that if it isn't approved for your situation, you're not likely to get it - so I'll go ahead and tell you that in my father's case it did nothing.
Thalidomide was also the most common morning sickness medicine in the 1950's have you read up about that?
So today my mil found us a really nice crib at a yardsale. Its in perfect condition no knicks or marks at all, it seems fairly new. It came with a mattress which makes me kinda nervous since it doesnt even have the plastic on it. We could always get a new mattress since theyre pretty inexpensive, but just wondering what anyone else would do. Keep it or get a new one?
