Avatar f tn Hello, It can be due to prurigo nodularis which is characterised by pruritic (itchy) nodules which usually appear on the arms or legs. It is very difficult to treat, but current therapies include steroids, vitamins, cryosurgery, thalidomide and UVB light. If staphylococcus or other infection is present, then antibiotics may be needed. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc? I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.
Avatar f tn Hi, Prurigo nodularis is very hard to treat, but current therapies include steroids, vitamins, cryosurgery, thalidomide and UVB light. In the event that staphylococcus or other infection is present, antibiotics have proven effective. A physician may administer a strong dose of prednisone, which will almost immediately stop the itch/scratch cycle. However, cessation of steroids allows relapse to occur, usually within a few weeks.
Avatar m tn He said that Zevalin and Bexxar are used prior to stem cell transplant after the high dose chemo part. They are not approved for relapsed DLBCL treatment by themselves and the studies that I have seen had poor outcomes when someone had already used R-CHOP and relapsed then used radioimmunotherapy. Still worth a shot!
Avatar f tn My Mom just switched to a different drug from topotecan. It took 3 treatments for the ca-125 to drop. Each treatment is 3 infusions. After 4th treatment, ca-125 went up some. CT scan showed slight progression in disease so the doctor is switching to a different drug..avastin/cytoxane. You may want to redo the ct scan. If disease is stable, then thats good. If disease progressed then the drug is no longer working.

Avatar f tn I had chemo for Limphoma, and I started to get massive body aches, my right hand started to get numb and I was told that after the chemo it would be over. But is not, I finished chemo July of 2009 and I am still in pain, my hand is so bad I have to keep it down, because it gets numb constantly, I told my doctor and she said that it has nothing to do with the chemo. I bearly sleep and I am tired all the time.
Avatar f tn Yes, in fact it can effect the colour, but not the quality. For conception I would suggest you to choose an uti and medication free period of your life. At least three months since the last time. Just to be on the safe side. You never know... Thalidomide was once considered safe too, but the result was catastrophic!
Avatar f tn Hello Doctor, My mother was diagnosed with Ova Ca stage IIIC in Jan 07, after being on 6 rounds of carbo & taxol, she had her 1st recurrence in Jan 08(6 months from treatment). She was given doxil and carbo 5 rounds. She was also put on armidex, which she took for 2 months. Her CA 125 was in single digits on completion of the doxil and carbo in May 08. In August her CA 125 started rising slowly and then in 2 weeks was up from 71 to late 980's.
