Avatar f tn They say i have symptoms of pcos (facial hair and acne) they tested me and my DHEAS LEVEL and TESTOSTERONE were kinda high but all my other hormones were fine. So they started me on SPRINTEC N SPIRONPROLACTONE and i was wondering will this help or do i need to try METFORMIN OR CLOMID.... i also have a cyst on my right ovary. What is the next step for me.
401095 tn?1351391770 I am also very interested in how the testosterone shots go. I have thought about them for myself. it is not unusual for women to be low in testosterone. it occurs natuarlly in women too but is counter balanced by estrogen. maybe i need some of that? lol, i don't think so. i have noticed that adrenalin is great for fighting pain(as are other naturally occurring chemicals)and have often thought about getting my levels of all these chemicals checked. maybe i should. Nick.
Avatar f tn i have just gave blood samples for SHBG but i dont know if the testosterone test is for bio-available or not, my doc not up to scratch on this hormone thing and my endo is all for keeping ;me in the dark, i wish i knew more about the whole system. I am on 50mg of DHEA DAILY which makes no difference at all and on fluoextine 30 mg and the testosterone patch but nothing seems to make any difference. moods are all over the place and depression can set in occassionally as nothing seems to change.
Avatar n tn You can elevate testosterone more gently with natural remedies, or just waiting for the lingering effects of the medication to wear off. Herbs like maca and yohimbe can help with the testosterone. The problem is, higher male energy also means the possibility of increased anxiety. Double edged sword. Might just try Chinese ginseng, it might help both the anxiety and the testosterone problem, but it also might be too energetic.
Avatar f tn Beyond that high SHBG is also caused by oral contraceptives. High SHBG can cause low free testosterone, which is necessary for hormone balance (weight gain, the hot flashes, libido, energy, etc). That could be a huge part of your problem. Your thyroid hormones actually look okay. TSH is good, but that's not a thyroid hormone; it's a pituitary hormone that stimulates the thyroid. Your FT4 is good.
1805020 tn?1316111597 For her, it is because she has high testosterone levels. The doctor gave her a prescription for hormone pills but she opted out of taking them and tried using a homeopathic/naturopathic approach. So far it hasn't worked. You may have to take hormone pills every once in a while. There are many reason why you might go for a long time without a period. For some people, being too thin or being too active can make them not have a period.
Avatar m tn It would be really important to rule out any underlying reasons for issues of low testosterone and if they diagnosed you with secondary hypogonadism. They would look for issues such as diabetes ,issues with your pituitary gland, what medications you are taking. In general, being obese can cause it as well. We are happy you work on your weight maintenance program and think that is terrific! Keep that up. But it must be said that primary and secondary hypogonadism can both be congenital.
Avatar f tn It's really simple. Stop masterbating. Your 23 years old, that stuff is for kids. Physically and mentally its much healthier. Find a girl you like and have a normal sexual relationship.
Avatar m tn he also takes aspirin for kids and some vitamins . he drinks but he also works out a lot . the thing is that he feels hot 2 times a day which bothers him a lot . So what could be the problem ? what is the specialist doctor called for such cases ? what kind of tests should be done ?
Avatar m tn I told him I still want to have kids someday, so he recommended I go on the testosterone therapy for 3 months and off 3 months and so on. I just finished my first 3 months and he warned me I would feel the effects coming off testosterone. Needless to say I have zero energy now, inability to focus, extremely tired and have a dull achy feel all around.
3249922 tn?1347023649 I also wanted to know if I was to go on synthetic testosterone does that affect my ability to have kids in the future? Thank you...
Avatar m tn I have read that a varicocele can contribute to low testosterone and a lower sperm count. As for your hubbies testosterone levels the ones that really matter are the free testosterone levels or the ones readily available for use. I have other symptoms of low testosterone too so I am working on that. I retested my blood and I am waiting on my results. Anyway good luck and do let me know. I'm curious about my options if i face the same situation.
393685 tn?1425812522 Androgens secreted by the adrenals provide the majority of DHEA for both men and women. For women, the adrenal glands are the major source of testosterone. Imbalances in the adrenal system can contribute to problems with the nervous and immune systems, body composition difficulties, blood sugar irregularities, and high androgen levels.
Avatar n tn Low levels of testosterone are linked to muscle and bone loss, coronary artery disease, diabetes, depression, erectile dysfunction and loss of self-esteem.
Avatar n tn I hope you can help. We've been ttc for 6 months now and they've upped my dose to 200mg for 5 days. i have signs of PCOS but my doctor is hestitant to say I have it because i'm not over weight, nor am i abnormally hairy, normal insulin level etc. i do have multiple little follicles and my testosterone is on the high end. but even with 200mg of clomid, they didn't get as nearly as big as they needed to use the triggershot.
Avatar n tn To Hensley258 To get tested for low testosterone is very simple, just a blood screen. Although I was told to fast for 8 hours and get the test in the morning when your natural testosterone level is typically at the highest level.
Avatar f tn ve been to the doctor and have been tested for TB, HIV, thyroid function, diabetes, lymphoma and testosterone level (not sure why exactly) but they all came back negative and normal. I also have had the Mirena coil for the last 8 years and am on my second coil. I know it must be something hormonal and not sure if the testosterone test would have disproved this but I'm worried I am perimenopausal. If anyone could shed any light on this that would be great.
Avatar f tn I'd like to ask about how effective is testosterone booster for boy who has small penis in measurement. 10 years almost 11 years old Asian boy with 4.3 cm length penis. It is not micropenis in the table but in the gray area and the doctor said that the penis will be small in size. He didn't suggest the injection but also didn't tell that it is not allowed to inject. Doctor said we have to check bone scan before doing injection. And what is the side effect for a long term?
Avatar f tn Where can I find the latest medical advice on using Testosterone gel 13 years after prostate removal? Removed because of cancer. Doctor keeps saying that Testosterone Therapy is not proper for patients who have had prostate cancer. I feel like my energy battery is just about depleated and seem to have all of the symptoms for need of T Therapy. Is there any good medical research that I can use to further discuss with Primary Care MD?
