Testosterone and ocd

Common Questions and Answers about Testosterone and ocd

Avatar n tn however from reading up on this matter I believe there is a strong correlation between testosterone and OCD! Estrogen also seems to be involved as well.. Low T is a good probability or high aromatase levels (converts Test to Estrogen)... I have found OTC AI's (Aromatase Inhibitors) seem to help a little however it is mainly psychological and about dealing with the thoughts.. which is very difficult. Others however I've heard react bad to Anti-E's so for everyones its different.
Avatar n tn Please also note that my steroid use did not revolve solely around testosterone but also included a wide arrangement of bodybuilding supplements and other non testosterone steroids that bulk you up. Like I said they all add muscle and include winstrol, trenbolone acetate, testosterone enanthate, stanozolol, and other bodybuilding anabolic steroids (not necessarily strictly testosterone).
Avatar n tn Someone suggested to me that PCOS could also cause my symptoms of extreme fatigue (mild apnea), acne, irregular periods (then more regular on birth control, but many times bleeing in between), skin discoloration (dark around eyes, and scar easily), and OCD. I also have sensitivity to cold and vertigo/dizziness. The thing is, I dont have a lot of the other symptoms (no real excess hair growth or loss, not overweight, and no high blood pressure (low if anything).
Avatar m tn But long term use of testosterone and other steroids have transient effects and there is no scientific evidence that performance is enhanced. There is abuse liability so I would suggest you to follow up with a physician or endocrinologist for case to case prescriptions. Take care!
Avatar f tn Suboxone not only effects sex drive it effects Testosterone levels. There is a lot of misunderstanding of this out there. Viagra and Cialis without sex drive equals an erection that allows for sex but no satisfaction to the male if there is no drive. Low testosterone causes low sex drive and erectile dysfunction.
Avatar f tn I am currently in therapy, and I see a psychiatrist and two psychologists, and we all agree that it is ocd. I fear that I won't be able to live a life where these thoughts don't bother me. I go to bed every night wishing that these thoughts disappear, but every day they keep feeling more intense. And the fact that transgender is such a big issue and constantly in the media doesn't help me one bit.
Avatar n tn I got sent for more blood tests and synacthena month or two ago and a cortisol test, and have just got this letter this week. thank you for requesting an ITT on (my name), i took the executive decision that a short synacthen test might give us sufficient information of (my name) hypothalamic pituitary/adrenal axis.
Avatar n tn The doctor checked my testosterone level due to and adverse affect of opiates, and I didnot have any. He put me on supplemental testosterone, but I have read it would come back naturally and taking supplements will stop the natural production of my testosterone. Anyone had this issue.

2054381 tn?1330458617 I started to research in early 2011 natural cures, I also had blood tests done, and cortisol saliva test to discover my levels were very high at 8am and very low the rest of the day, so I took a bunch of adrenal fatigue supplements. I discovered my testosterone was at 11.0 (equivalant to a 90 year old man) and should be at 30.0. I tried natural ways to increase testosterone which didnt work so I am now taking testosterone enanithate injections 1 ml of 250mg every 5th day. By dec.
Avatar m tn - Out of breath from SIMPLE activities (like huffing and puffing after mowing the lawn) I dont know if this is all caused by low serotonin or low testosterone,. I had my t-levels checked and the doc says that DHEA was very elevated by testosterone was normal , however I have a very good feeling that , naturally, i had higher than average T-levels and the sudden decrease to normal may be the cause of these symptoms im experiencing. If its not the Test, then perhaps its low serotonin?
Avatar n tn The size is determined by the testosterone receptors which don’t change in number after puberty and thus taking any testosterone boosters is not going to affect the size of the penis. I sincerely hope I am able to address your query & hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn I made an appointment with a Urologist a couple weeks ago because I have been having issues with maintaining an erection and one of the things that the doctor did was take some blood to check my testosterone levels. I am involved in a committed relationship and it has taken a tole on both of us for months. Back in 2007 I took testosterone (Steroids) for about 6-8 weeks. My testosterone level came back as 287 which is low for a man of any age.
Avatar n tn I am extremely depressed and am suffering with hypothyroidism, low testosterone, too much estrogen, high cholesterol and low Vitamin D what is wrong with me? I originally thought that everything here is linked to depression from stress and anxiety so I started taking Lexapro for the depression. Avatar m tn Has anyone else had a rise in BP with testosterone? Im 36 and in decent shape, BMI is 33 and am taking BP meds. Looking for feedback or personal experiences. Thank you.
Avatar m tn I just wanted to see if low testosterone was still common. I failed to mention I am bipolar and been on many meds and also overweight. Just wanted to see if there were any males that deal with low testosterone. I already had planned on getting the test.
Avatar n tn My urologist tested my testosterone only, which he concluded was normal, and said he expected my situation to improve. Well, it has not, and it is causing me major stress. I first began having problems about a year ago soon after a breakup. Since then, I have not felt right. My level of sexuality plummeted, and I simply don't know what to do. Have there been any traumatic occurrences lately in your life?
737515 tn?1252552423 Some men do have low testosterone and psychiatric meds compound the problem. Have you ever had your hormone levels checked? My libido has been up and down over the years and not related to medication. I think some docs do a drug holiday to help with that. Was our anxiety any better by the way? Was it worth it in that regard? Not your marriage, of course. I think too that it would have been good if your wife tried to understand the situation you were in as well.
Avatar m tn With all the results you have, I hate to ask, but could you just post your TSH Free T3 and Free T4 and include the reference ranges provided for each? Ranges vary fron lab to lab, that is why they are needed to see how you are with your thyroid, as far as Testosterone is concerned, it normally does not affect the thyroid levels.
Avatar m tn I have been battling with low testosterone for a few years and trying to address it through natural means. Lost 20 lbs body fat (Now 5'08" 156 lbs 13 % BF), added heavy weight lifting in 3x weekly, eat a low carb high vegetable intake diet with more than adequate fat content, etc. Sadly doesnt seem to be helping.
