Avatar n tn t respond to over-the-counter medicine, you may need a prescription-strength topical or oral medication. These include topical antifungals like econazole (Spectazole) or oxiconazole (Oxistat) and oral antifungals like Itraconazole (Sporanox),Fluconazole (Diflucan) or Terbinafine (Lamisil) Triamcolone acetonide is a more potent type of triamcinolone, being about 8 times as effective as prednisone. It should not be used to treat fungal infections without consulting a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
Avatar f tn Then I went for a check up and the doctor prescribed me itraconazole 100 mg and terbinafine 250 mg oral solution and Luliconazole cream. Infection was cured completely. But now again it has appeared on my body. Specifically on my neck. I am having the same oral solution and using Clotrimazole topical cream. But it's not effective like before. Instead of being cured it's spreading. I am also using ketoconazole soap for bathing.
Avatar m tn Hi doctor, Two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with ringworms near my groin area and on my penis. I've been taking Terbinafine tablets and applying terbinafine cream, and it's been slowly improving. But I think the rash has spread to my fingers. The area between my fingers and near my nails is very dry and crusty, sometimes giving off a transparent liquid. There are small bumps on my fingers as well, and there's a constant urge to itch. Its been there for the past 3 days.
Avatar m tn I found out a rash on parts of my chest and abdomen is tinea versicolor (spelling?). The dermatologist prescribed Ketoconazole cream. Anyone know if that is safe to use with Lyme Disease.? I looked online but found only mentions of the pill.
Avatar f tn If i am using a moderate steroid cream on my hands while i having athletes feet infection on my hands. am i still contagious spreading via skin contact and fungal spores or does the moderate steroid cream temporarly take the fungus away at all to depress it?????

1712311 tn?1308397237 I went to the doctor, and he said it was a yeast infection. Prescribed me Terbinafine 250mg tablets, and Nystatin and Trimacinolone Acetonide cream. This has not helped one bit, and I am starting to get really anxious about it. Not only do I have these spots all over my body, but they leave white spots from my tan when they go away. So I have tons of red spots, and tons of white tan spots everywhere. Please help me, its summer time and I would really like to go swimming with my friends.

Avatar n tn After Lamisil I started using a Neosporin/Jock itch cream for about a week so far and the itch on my scrotum and penis seems to be going away, but the spots (which look like friction burns) remain. By the way, they dont burn, itch at all. Is this persistent jock itch? Thanks!
Avatar m tn The topical prescription is for .01 % Terbinafine, largest tube the Pharmacy has available. And the Pharmacist was doubly surprised since these new prescription's followed on the heals of the Prednisone ( 10 mg x 3 for 4 days, 10 mg x 2 for 4 days, 10 mg x 1 for 4 days ), which was proceeded by a prescription of Sulfamethoxazole/Tmp 800-160 Tabs twice a day for 14 days. Facial infection is gone, but rash only keeps getting worse.

Avatar n tn i can only suggest a cream to relieve that itch effect and may heal it... use a topical corticosteriod cream( Ask a new dematologist about it)... it is useful to this cases especially for puritic skin diseases...
Avatar n tn Most treatments are either systemic antifungal medications such as terbinafine and itraconazole, or topical such as nail paints containing ciclopirox or amorolfine. There is also evidence for combining systemic and topical treatments for effective results. A 2002 study compared the efficacy and safety of terbinafine in comparison with placebo, itraconazole and griseofulvin in treating fungal infections of the nails.
Avatar n tn Examples of such preparations include those that contain clotrimazole (Cruex cream, Desenex cream, Lotrimin cream, lotion, and solution), miconazole (Monistat-Derm cream), ketoconazole (Nizoral cream); and terbinafine (Lamisil cream and solution). Oral anti-fungal medications for Ringworm are terbinafine (Lamisil), itraconazole (Sporanox), and fluconazole (Diflucan). ref:http://www.medicinenet.com/ringworm/page3.
