Treatment of onychomycosis(which means fungal infection of the nail) is challenging because the infection is embedded within the nail and is difficult to reach. As a result full removal of symptoms is very slow and may take a year or more.
Most treatments are either systemic antifungal medications such as terbinafine and itraconazole, or topical such as nail paints containing ciclopirox or amorolfine.
hi..when treating a funal infection its so important to continue treatment several months or more afterwards even if its seems the problem has gone away..and i see that you have tried so many options... but continuous treatment is of utmost importance to make sure all dormant fungal infection is treated also.
i wish i could be of more help..maybe finding a simple treatment that works,persevereing and if u see small improvements continue with that treatment...

So my nail edges look yellow. I've heard that yellow nails can be indicative of health problems. I also have yellow toenails but I went to the dermatologist and she said I had a toenail fungus. I was prescribed terbinafine for my toenails and have been on it for a week. But she didn't really check my finger nails. My nails have been like that for a while though.

Trauma to the nail can cause blackening of the nail because of injury to the nail bed and spillage of blood in nailbed.It does not sound like a fungal infection.This bleeding can resolve on its own and if the symptoms of severe pain persists then drilling of the nail to release the blood may have to be done.

i had red, itchy, swell penis forehead last year & i gone to doctor and he tested me for HIV 1&2 antibodies, VDRL, HERPES simplex virus 1&2 IGG-IGM & TSH and all test came normal (negative). Then my doc told me that it is candidal balanoposthitis & he gave me fusidic acid cream with terbinafine cream and some tablets for infection & infection cured 70% but itching never gone.
Here is a post from MedHelp that may help you. You may have to use the Ketoconazole shampoo for a long time ( such as 6 weeks for it to work). Some fungi are resistant to it so you may want to try Terbinafine shampoo or pills. But I would read some of the posts below. They may be helpful.

My daughter is taking Terbinafine for a fungal nail infection. Almost immediately after starting the course of tablets, she developed very deep red, itchy patches under her eyes which initially burn when she applies moisturiser and make up. Her doctor advised using Vaseline. She is midway through her second 3-month supply of meds having been told the condition may need 6-12 months of treatment. Is the skin discolouration permanent?
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
also have used vicks vapor rub trying to get rid of the skin folds, when they open back up they are very painful with yellow centers and red outside edges, the strange thing is these black particles or pebbles pop out of my skin when pulling and stretching outward trying to get rid of these skin folds so that my skin does not feel so tight. recently took terbinafine which seemed to help some in eliminating the some of the skin folds and white mark scars.
Topical Terbinafine cream did not help doctor is treating with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo and topical Clindamycin 1%. I may be noticing a 10% increase in my normal gray follicles at two weeks treatment. I would love to send a picture.
She further advised me to take Levofloaxacin 750mg for 5 days together with appky Terbinafine Cream. But still no relief. Infection resurface with spreading to more areas.
Consulted on phone (as I stay in Zambia) with a Dermatologist and gave all the medicine history who advised for 10 day course of Itraconazole-200mg (1-0-0), Fluconazole-150mg(1-0-0), Hydroxyzine-10 mg(1/2 morning n 1/2 evening) and apply Luliconazole lotion. Today is 4th day have no relief.
I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
I have seen my doctor about the rash, he said that its looks like a ringworm which is a fungal infection. So I have been going in and out of the doctor trying different medicines each month.
The medicines I have used are, Clotrimazole, Ketocnazole, Terbinafine and oral Terbinafine. The medicine didn’t work so I was sent to the hospital to the dermatology department, they took a scrape test to see if it is a fungal infection.
These include topical antifungals like econazole (Spectazole) or oxiconazole (Oxistat) and oral antifungals like Itraconazole (Sporanox),Fluconazole (Diflucan) or Terbinafine (Lamisil)
Triamcolone acetonide is a more potent type of triamcinolone, being about 8 times as effective as prednisone.It should not be used to treat fungal infections without consulting a dermatologist.

The only problem is my toe nails are getting darker. It started of by the small toe nail and spreading to every toe. I saw my GP and was put on Terbinafine and it stopped spreading but my toes remained black. I stopped taking the drugs because it could harm my liver function and I cannot be taking the drug all my life. The discolouring is spreading to other toes, it is embarrassing. What else can i do or use.
The only medication I am on is generic Lamisil (Terbinafine) 200 mg for a nail fungus. Liver panel came back fine, so will continue on it for the three month duration ending mid-December.
could be from eczema,psoriasis, you should check with a dermatologist.
