Avatar f tn ContraVir reports data shows CMX157 more potent against HBV than Gilead Viread ContraVir Pharmaceuticals (CTRV) announced preliminary data dramatizing the unique properties of CMX157, the company's highly potent lipid prodrug of the successful antiviral drug tenofovir, or TFV. CMX157 was shown to be 60-fold more active than tenofovir against the hepatitis B virus, or HBV, based on in vitro studies.
Avatar f tn I have been on Viread for 10 yrs. no side effects since I am an athlete and do exercise everyday. I have bone thinning as well. I would recommend exercise to keep your bones from thinning too much. I had abnormal kidney function 6 months ago and doctor told me to split Viread in half...which I know think was a bad direction since I may create resistance to Viread.
9624973 tn?1413016130 I am on treatment with entecavir from five years feeling no side effects just use of one medicine in morning and monitoring every year once.
Avatar m tn I notice that lactic acidosis is one of the side effects of taking Baraclude. Actually one of the more dangerous side effects of Baraclude. Is switching from Baraclude to Hepsera a valid treatment option, then? Shouldn't Viread have been tried next?
Avatar m tn tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) is a prodrug of tenofovir. The 'disoproxil' is a side chain attached to the active component 'tenofovir'. Inside our body, this side chain gets cleaved off by an enzyme to release the active tenofovir. AGX-1009 has a different side chain attached to the active component 'tenofovir'. It may show higher potency and/or lower toxicity compared to Viread because of this different side chain (At least that's what Agenix is hoping for).
Avatar n tn Lack of FDA trials on the Baraclude/Viread combination may mean unexpected interaction/side-effects. Current Thought: Go Combo Baraclude/Viread when treatment is needed. It appears current combination studies are progressing on schedule with no substantial reports of issues/discontinuations (through not sure if they report all this). If they have a better combo or even a cocktail by then, go with that. PS Is 6 months the standard follow-up (even on treatment?).
Avatar m tn It is only more potent in the sense that as a prodrug of Tenofovir, just like the existing Viread(TDF), TAF converts to Tenofovir mainly in the liver cells, therefore has less side effects. But as Stef2011 stated, they reduced the dosage of TAF accordingly, so the same amount of Tenofovir is delivered to the liver cells as TDF. It would be really nice if they can do a proper dosage study of TAF/TDF specifically for HBV (and not use the same dosage for HIV/AIDS).
Avatar f tn I had very bad side effects like dizziness , nausea, vomiting and also stomach problems. Sometime, I couldn't wake up. I am so weak. By the way, I have Viread( Tenofovir ) 123 mg expired date 1.201,anyone who wants it I will post it. I didn't use it anymore so I can post it free. I also have Tenofovir 245 mg but it is expired 8.2013 so may be it is not good anymore. I used it both of the only 3 tabts each and I stopped.
Avatar m tn Is Tenofovir (Viread) good drug for the treatment of HBeAg-positive patients with high HBV DNA levels but low serum ALT levels (less than 35)? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Since then, I have been taking Zeffix (Lamivudine). Recently my doctor decided to put me on Viread (Tenofovir) instead. As I have read, some people are experiencing bone density loss due to Tenofovir therapy. Is it advisable that I start taking supplements like calcium and vitamin D along with my therapy to prevent bone loss? Thank you.
Avatar n tn entecavir+tenofovir (viread) , is a good choice for you at this point....and also tell your doctor to read up on the results if clinical trials of DIFFERENT antiretrovirals before he puts anyone else on a treatment.
Avatar n tn Have any of the women on this forum who are taking tenofovir experienced the side effects? I know one of them is redistribution of fat -- such as in the neck/back/chest areas. Does anyone know how common these sides are/experienced this? And to what extent? I am about to start taking this regularly so I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for anything that could potentially come my way...
Avatar m tn viread is more realiable than generic tenofovir right? do you know any online site/store where viread is sold and guaranted to be delivered to you?
Avatar m tn April 63: Wat i meant by DNA negative is 'undetectable'.Now the detectable load is 1.99 log ... stef2011 : don't u think this could be too risky(combination of two high profile antiviral with horrible side effects).
Avatar f tn the pain you are having around your rib cage was something i also experienced at the onset of starting TNF, but was gone after about 6 months, and not back ever since for almost 4 years on. I have come to realise its due to fatty liver. Get rid of that and you wont experience that no more. Diet helps, and also vitamin d.
Avatar n tn m 44yrs to be 45 in Aug, started Viread (tenofovir) treatment in Jun/10/2012 after my liver boipsy came back normal, so far with no side effect. My next Dr.
Avatar m tn I am a healthy carrier of HBV and have been taking viread for more than 1 year. The latest blood test showed that HBV DNA was below the detection limit. I came to malaysia to work recently and after I came here, I tried to get viread and seems i could not find it anywhere. My doctor recommand that I can take Baraclude, but I am a little worried. I saw in the old post, that people take both, but for my case, by just pure change from one to another, will there be any side effect?
