Common Questions and Answers about Taking yaz for the first time

yaz

Avatar m tn My question is should I just stop taking it now or wait until the end of the packet for me to have my period first. Also my boyfriend and I recently had sex without a condom and I was wondering if I would be at risk of getting pregnant because I swapped pills a week ago? Or would have it just kept protecting me instead of yaz?

Avatar f tn and went from 101 to 116 lbs. After the first two cycles of being on Yaz, I gained a cup size. I feel bloated ALL the time, and look it too, all through my cycles, and more so when I have my period. Even after lifestyle changes (more exercising, watching calorie intake) it still feels like there's a layer of puffiness and bloating covering my whole body! Anyone have any suggestions?! Help please, this is starting to make me feel miserable.
697574 tn?1273955747 Recently I have been getting very depressed the week of my period to the point where I will just cry. I take YAZ so as soon as those 4 days of taking the blank pill I feel like my mood just crashes. I started to take a antidepressant 2 months ago and that was the first time I experienced such a low mood, I usually get more emotional but I felt like it was doubled. Is it normal to get so sad and randomly cry during that time? What can I do?
Avatar f tn I am 35 years old and I just recently stopped taking yaz birth control after taking it for about 4 years. I had my first period on November 23rd and the next one on December 22nd. My fertile period started on the 1st of this month (January 2014) but I had sex on the 27th and the 29th 3 days prior to my fertile period. I am not due to actually ovulate until the 6th is it possible that I could still get pregnant?
Avatar f tn I have been taking Yaz for about 4 months now. I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
Avatar f tn and i know this may be a myth but take the test first thing in the morning with your first urination of the day.
Avatar n tn t supposed to start taking it on the first day of your period. You were supposed to start taking it on the sunday after your period ended.

Avatar f tn I am 26 and have been taking birth control for roughly 10 years with no breaks. I started taking Yaz roughly a year ago because my previous pill was giving me bad headaches. Now that I look back my first sign of anxiety and panic attacks happened shortly after i started taking yaz. I am not prone to panic or anxiety at all and am usually a very energetic happy person, but after reading up on yaz and it's effects online it seems it may be to blame?
Avatar f tn Since I had been taking the Yaz for almost two months straight (I skipped my period by not taking the placebo pills) do you think this changes the possibility of me being unprotected?
Avatar f tn I have found a lot of information linking gallbladder disease with the BC pill Yaz. I myself have been going through some major health issues since about 2 months after I started taking the pill. Although the pill has cleared my acne and evened out my hormone levels, I've been to several doctors because of a pain in my right side. I've also had my appendix removed because of a misdiagnosis. Now my doctors are convinced that I have to have my gallbladder removed.
Avatar m tn I had sex for the first time 2 days ago. The condom failed. however I am on birth control (yaz). I would like to take a pregnancy test to make sure that Im not pregnant. the instructions say you can take it the first day after your missed period but since im on birthcontrol I am only having 1 every 3 months and I wouldnt really know if I was missing a period or not. When should I take it? can I find out early enough that I could take the morning after pill?
Avatar n tn I have also taken a blood pregnancy test, but am still waiting for the call back from the doctor. What I was wondering is whether or not YAZ can cause pregnancy symptoms after stopping them two months ago? I have been pregnant before and I really feel like I am pregnant. It may be too early to tell if I am pregnant, but I am so concerned with the lawsuit against YAZ. Can anybody help me?
Avatar f tn Hi- I never saw a previous post of yours, cause i just found this forum today- but, I have a pack of Yaz waiting for me in my bathroom closet, and I wanted to get on here and ask how people like it... I just had a baby 8 wks ago and am waiting for the first period to come along before starting it. however, I may have to just break down and take it because the first period is taking it's sweet time showing up. So, how do you like Yaz? Did you have any bad side effects?
Avatar f tn I was on Yaz for 2 years and stopped taking it in july of 2009. Before Yaz I was on on orthotriycyclen for 7 years. I had switched to yaz because orthotricyclen made me so moody. Well Yaz made me gain weight and I stopped taking it anyway because my husband and I wanted to try and have a baby in the near future anyway. Well after stopping yaz I have got rapid heart beat, dizziness, shaking, feeling of numbness. They had to call 911 at work because I turned pale white and numb.
Avatar f tn I've been off Yaz for 4 days. I am still taking Cipralex..ive been taking the whole pill once daily for 4 days. I took half a pill of Cipralex 1 month into taking Yaz and I felt a bit better but still on edge all the time..i thought i was better so I just went off it on my own without consulting my doctor and now i feel like ive hit an all time low.
Avatar n tn m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar f tn My daughter has only been taking YAZ for two and half weeks and has begun calling me every night from college in tears. She doesn't know what's wrong. Just feels like crying all the time. Also had an episode where she became so dehydrated that she fainted last week. I don't know if either of these things can be attributed to the YAZ, but I plan to call the OB/GYN tomorrow to check. Will post what I find out.
1973052 tn?1332868276 Good luck hun... I'm also on Yaz and it seems as if it did little to nothing wrt the cysts. I've been taking the Yaz since start January '12 and all went well for 2 months before the old, irritating, familiar pains were back.
Avatar f tn two months ago i started taking the birth control pill yaz. The first cycle my period started early by a few days, but i assumed this was normal so continued taking the pills. This time around my period is not starting. I have been on my white pills for 3 days now and am starting to be a little concerned. I take my pills everyday and have not missed once, but i am guilty at taking it at a different time. I am suppose to at 8pm, and the latest i have taken it would have to be 12am.
Avatar f tn I had bad migranes daily as a teenager, but they were gone by the time I started taking Yaz. I never had a problem with the birth control.
Avatar n tn After the surgery, the pain in the lower right portion of the abdomen where the appendix is never went away. I thought they may have left something in there! The surgeon blew me off and said not to worry about it. When I got my yearly pap smear done a few months later, the OBGyn said I had a cyst which was causing my pain. I wasn't on BC at the time even though I've been on several types in the past. I started taking FemCon and we waited to see if it would help.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been taking Yaz for about two months now, but recently I forgot to take it a few days ago. My friend told me that if I miss a day I can just take two the next day. I did and later on I noticed I was spotting. I did read that it is very common for something like that to happen but for me it seemed like i was having my period. I wanted it to stop so I decided I was going to stop taking it.
