synthroid overdose how much

I was miss prescribed by my Dr. a much higher synthroid dose. I was taking half of 25mcg (that's the lowest level) and my Dr changed my prescription to 125mcg (so I was taking then 67.5mcg). It got to the point I thought I was having a heart attack, would wake up every other minute at night. In a period of about 4 months my triglycerides jumped drastically, and I gained 40lbs.It seems my metabolism went cocoa puffs.

Guaifenesin, how much is an Overdose? My daughter 11 years old 100 lbs (big for her age), took (the correct dose) 5mL cough and cold medicine that had the following in that dose. Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg, Dextromethorpan HBr, USP 10 mL. Phenylephedrine HCI, USB 5mg. But then she also took (the correct dose) 10 mg of a prescription medicine Guaifenesin-Codeine syrup (generic for Robitussin AC syrup). It doesn't state on the label the quantity of Guaifenesin mg in the 5mL dose.

Has anyone taken too much Synthroid? Too much that it made you hyperthyroid? What symptoms did you have and for how long?

I was away for a couple of days and left my synthroid at home. I got home at 2 am in the morning and took a synthroid and again at 8:30 am. Did I over do it? I'm asking so I know for the future.

If you had hypo symtoms before you started on the synthroid and did not lose any hair it is most likely cause by either the synthroid or you may be on too much. If you are not having any symptoms of overdose I would say it is the synthroid and you should talk to your doc about other options available. There are many brands of T4 available besides synthroid as well as some combinations of T4 and T3 or a natural choice (Armour). Sorry I don't live in CA but http://www.thyroid-info.

When I was given the 75 mcg of generic Synthroid, I felt great for the day before I experience the overdose symptoms. I could walk again, no pain, it was like a miracle. So 75 is too much, but 50 isn't enough. What if I took a 50 and half a 25 ? I saw someone on here is taking 162.5 mcg of Synthroid, so they would have had to split a pill to do it.... My life really isn't worth living right now, as I have Depression also with this.

Does having too much Synthroid cause your hair to fall out??? I have been having the same problem with hair but my TSH is 1.00 I have Hashimoto's and I was wondering if that would cause earache, inflamed eye and now a bit of a sore throat.....all on the right side.

75mcg which is the correct dosage, I have taken almost the entire bottle, I need a refill this how I noticed the dosage was wrong. Is there a big difference between mcg and mg? Could this be harmful?

ER nurses and doctors are trainned to see signs of drug overdose. If they suspect overdose they will get you the help you need. Panic attacks will not have same symptoms. So I agree with everything that hadenough123. It has been a while for me also since I worked ER.

after a blood test my doctor upped my dosages from 88mcg of Synthroid to 175 mcg Levithyroxine. The pharmacy questioned the large increase and called him to verify the dosgage he confirmed. He also raised my other thyroid medication from 30mcg of Armour Thyroid to 20 mcg of Liothyroxine because they are not producing Armour Thyroid any longer. Does anyone know how much tylenol intake will cause liver damage. I ask this as have read a few help posts and some people are taking 20 norcos a day which is 10mg of opiate and 325 mg of tylenol. Yes. Get your reverse T3 (RT3) tested. I will send you on a private message a long write up I had done about the whole thyroid system which as I recall includes discussion on RT3. These are not likely synthroid side effects, but too much thyroid can cause GI symptoms and less likely ear/jaw pain -- doubt the goiter would have suddenly regrown to cause pain. Would recheck labs in 4 weeks or if symptoms worsen in meantime ask your doctor about the synthroid dosing. Long term use of meds like nexium may increase thyroid requirements, so the higher dose may work out well in that regard.

it depends how much your friend was consuming before he swallowed? i knew people who would sit and blow a 1/4oz in a sitting it deends on his tolerance.
