There is no way I can tell you if it is the correct RX or if it was manufactured properly.

I will try to be brief!! Previous Rx OD -1.00, -4.75, x10; OS -1.00, -1.50 x65 add 3.00 . Age 30, and have been wearing glasses/contacts for at least 17 years. That's because there is no equal sign (=) in a glasses RX. Some times its inserted after the glasses RX and a visual acuity number put in like 20/60 that means with that RX the person sees 20/60 out of that eye.
It was the pediatric opthamologist (recently retired) that under corrected. The new optomotrist that I took him to to check his contacts is the one recommending full correction. My fear was that the optomotrist didn't know the benefits of under correction. Now concerned that some of my son's dislike of reading and school in general could have been avoided if the pedi opthomologist had fully corrected him.
For the last 5-10 years my contact RX has been OD -4.75 and OS -4.25. My glasses RX has been OD -5.00 and -4.00. The optometrist I have been going to in that time, last year bumped my contact RX up to OD -5.00 and OS -4.50 and glasses RX to OD -5.25/-0.50/180 and OS -4.25/-0.75/180, which seemed like I large jump to me. With this RX I see probably 20/10 but my eyes feel strained and have for a couple months.
No the glasses RX says nothing about your vision is with them nor is it possible to predict how much, if any, changes will occur in the next year.
There is NO WAY you can tell vision from someone's glasses RX. It's like trying to tell howmuch they weigh by looking at their shoes.
Moreover excellent Eye MDs often disagree about what lattice needs RX. I would suggest you get second opinion, or go with the Eye MD you are most confident in.

The new rx is in plus cylinder form. To change to minus cynder form add cylinder to sphere, change from plus to minus cylinder and add or subtract 90 from axis. New rx changed to minus cylinder would be
OD +175 -1.75 x 20
OS +0.75 - 3.75 x 05
there is a major difference in the right eye from old rx to new one.
A glasses RX had 3 numbers Sphere cylinder axis Since you don't give all of these it does not tell me how strong the glasses are. that is not much astigmatism at all now. Send the rest of the glasses RX. You can be born with astigmatism or it can develop during life and often changes during life. Since people are born with it TV is not a cause.
A glasses RX has 3 components sphere cylinder and axis So it is not possible to answer your question. If the eye is healing normally and the distance RX is 0.0 + 0.75 X ? axis then vision at 20 ft (6 m) should be good (20/25 or better) however the near vision would be blurred and require reading RX. On the other hand if the RX is -3.00 + 0.75 X ? axis then the distance vision will be very bad but vision at 18 inches without glasses would be good.
The optom is written in "minus cylinders" and the Eye MD in "plus cylinders" It's like weight in pounds or kilograms. There is very little difference in the two glasses and no way I can tell you which you would see better in. Many people would not be able to tell any differance in the two.
I have a mostly healthy diet with a day or two in the month where I eat junk, like popcorn and apple pie with ice cream
I recently started mixing Amazing Grass Superfoods and Wheat grass in my morning smoothies. My smoothies include a helping of berries: blue, black, and strawberries with banana and grape juice. Not sure if the superfoods have causes this grainy stool, but I am concerned since it lasts for a couple of days.
Hope the leave went fine. Looking at the Rx the contacts would need to be fitted with the patient and more than likely would need to be special ordered. Soldiers are not allowed to deploy with contacts. And may risk an article 15 if they do wear them while deployed So for right now glasses are best.

When he redeploys tell him to schedule an appointment with an Optometrist. They can explain if he meets the current parameters for Refractive eye srg for his MOS.
Size and shape of frames, lens material, placement of optical centers, base curve and lens wrap of lens, pantoscopic tilt and coatings on lens. If you get new glasses and your are not adjusted in a week or two you should call the Eye MD or optometrist that did the testing for a 'glasses recheck" you should ask about being charged for this. Most doctors do not charge. The glasses are examined and the glasses test repeated and other changes from the 'old' glasses.
