Hey Dr. T Long time-I left you a previous msg about Dr. Pratt. I do have one question-besides from the support stockings is there anything else we can do for burning sensation in his legs & feet. His fluid has gone way down in he legs & feet but the burning feeling is unbareable.

Visual therapy as pushed by optometrists had not been shown to be good for anything other than the optometrists' income. I have had people spend between $5000 and $8000 for visual therapy that didn't help at all. A scientific study in Archives of Ophthalmology did not find any credible studies showing benefit.
Remember this condition runs in families so all other children, nieces, nephews, and eventually grandchildren have a 20% chance of having the same problem.

The new rx is in plus cylinder form. To change to minus cynder form add cylinder to sphere, change from plus to minus cylinder and add or subtract 90 from axis. New rx changed to minus cylinder would be
OD +175 -1.75 x 20
OS +0.75 - 3.75 x 05
there is a major difference in the right eye from old rx to new one.
A glasses RX had 3 numbers Sphere cylinder axis Since you don't give all of these it does not tell me how strong the glasses are. that is not much astigmatism at all now. Send the rest of the glasses RX. You can be born with astigmatism or it can develop during life and often changes during life. Since people are born with it TV is not a cause.
OD: Sphere -1.00, Cylinder: -2.00, Axis 153.
OS: Sphere -1.25, Cylinder: -1.50, Axis 047.
Would it be normal for a reasonably healthy 35 year old male RX to change like that in just 3 months? And should I make the new glasses (are the differences relevant enough)?
There is NO WAY you can tell vision from someone's glasses RX. It's like trying to tell howmuch they weigh by looking at their shoes.
That is only your glasses RX. You can not tell anything about your vision.
It's like looking at your shoes and trying to tell how fast your run.

There is no way I can tell you if it is the correct RX or if it was manufactured properly.

If you do what the Eye MD tells you its relatively safe. Look at it this way if you don't do it then the likelyhood is that the vision in that eye will be functionallly blind.
A glasses RX has 3 components sphere cylinder and axis So it is not possible to answer your question. If the eye is healing normally and the distance RX is 0.0 + 0.75 X ? axis then vision at 20 ft (6 m) should be good (20/25 or better) however the near vision would be blurred and require reading RX. On the other hand if the RX is -3.00 + 0.75 X ? axis then the distance vision will be very bad but vision at 18 inches without glasses would be good.
