Avatar f tn Because some research has shown that women with PCOS are insulin resistant, we need to really watch our sugar intake, while eating LOTs of raw, whole, live fruits, veggies, and superfoods..This along with exercise, stress reduction, (yoga is the best for me) and supplements have been shown to help other women.. Avatar n tn Your TSH should stay below 1.0 for cancer patients (you're isn't concerning but should still be suppressed). Thyroglobulin (tg) should be <.2. After your dosage increase you will need to have labs redrawn (usually 6-8 weeks after the new dosage) to see if both levels have come down a bit. Nothing really to be concerned about. It's when you start having a climb in both levels (despite being on a stable dose of levo) that is a warning sign.

Avatar f tn The Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for iodine is 150mcg daily. The RDA is not for optimal health but to prevent obvious disease states such as rickets, scurvy, or a goiter for instance. The Tolerable Upper Limit (TUL) of iodine intake is 1100 mcg. Most people can tolerate at least 1000 mcg of iodine daily without adverse effects but those with autoimmune thyroid disease may tolerate less than this. Too much iodine produces a condition called iodine induced hyperthyroidism.
Avatar f tn 6 was healthy. But I did not consider my health...I am not a healthy person. I had insulin resistance for decades for a start not to mention numerous other health issues.
