979080 tn?1323433639 One of the places I like to go to check out such things is this site from Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre. There are a number of natural products that I researched while on treatment in an effort to boost my immune system and this site was one I used constantly as an authoritative reference. http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/11570.cfm Sloan-Kettering believes in integrative medicine as an adjunct to traditional medicine and I found that very interesting. http://www.mskcc.
Avatar f tn I have been pretty down lately, due to the hair loss and skin problems, and have yet to give the natural path a complete go of it. But I am ready to change and take charge of my own health, and not be ashamed to share about it... Good luck and blessings!!
Avatar m tn I received a results letter from my the doctor yesterday to say “your PSA has risen ever so slightly to 1.0 it was 0.5 in 2010, in 2008 it was 0.8, so I will recall this in 6 months to see if this is a fluctuation or a trend”. This got me thinking so I turned to Google as you do and scared myself silly now I am worried and not sure what to do if anything. Perhaps I am worried about nothing. But how come I have any psa at all if I haven’t got a prostate?

Avatar f tn Your question strangely reads like the sneaky product promotions, we get from time to time...... This product is a dietary supplement.... Avatar f tn There should be very little effect either way, until after your dosage is raised enough to suppress TSH. After that further increases will start to raise your Free T4 and Free T3 levels and that is when you should notice symptoms start to improve. Starting on 1/2 a grain (30 mg) it will take a while for you to reach that point, dependent on how soon the doctor wants to re-test and the how much your dosage is increased each time.
Avatar f tn I have read an article, http://ifysk.com/2014/02/oil-pulling-coconut-oil-transform-dental-health/ which discusses oil pulling's good effect on dental health. Do you think it is really effective?
1462810 tn?1327360449 I'm so tired of prescribed meds causing more problems than they cure - one prescription leading to side-effects that lead to another prescription and on and on. Antibiotics are a perfect case in point, they destroy the body's natural good bacteria and yeasts - totally vital to your health and wellbeing, totally.
Avatar m tn In three months, I am going on a trip to cancun and I would like to know if there was anything (like a special cream or a natural product) that could make me ''tan'' (beacuase I don't really tan) uniformly, without all the sun spots on my skin? Pleas help me! ( by the way, when I une my 60% sunblock cream the freckles don't show off but I don't tann at all either...
Avatar m tn I am at an absolute, complete loss! I have battled stubborn acne on my chin for years and cannot get rid of it, although now it is spreading and getting way worse! I have currently taken back my health and am eating healthier than I have ever eaten in my life!
Avatar m tn The only way to do this is to pile on more plant to reach that marker, and in so doing alter the other constituents so the plant is altered from its natural state. Sometimes this works better, sometimes not. With kava they managed to make it liver toxic to some people by standardizing it, though it did make it stronger.

Avatar f tn Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered are malabsorption, infections/ inflammations, inadequate fiber intake etc. With dark stools one may need to rule out GI bleeding as well, which could again have a number of secondary causes like infections/ inflammations, ulcers, erosions, growths/ masses etc.
Avatar f tn An increase of 35bpm, while it obviously scared you enough to go to the ER, posed absolutely no danger to your heart. Think of times when you are not anxious but are very physically active, say out dancing. It's my guess that your heart rate climbs higher than 123bpm but because you're having fun and not thinking about your heart, you don't rush off to the ER, you go our for another dance! If you're doing yardwork or even housework, your HR will often climb.
Avatar f tn Hi, That's excellent that you used protection ~ keep practicing that! The vagina naturally produces a white or clear discharge (usually it's milky in appearance) which acts as a natural lubricant. If you begin to notice a change in your discharge, such as color, thickness, odor, or any discomfort, that's when you should seek advice from a health care professional. A thick discharge, with a yellowish tint can sometimes indicate an infection.

Avatar f tn My doctor tells all patients about occurrence of anxiety or depression both. I think doctors make it much more widely known these days. Anxiety is normal after a life change. We all will have it to some extent. But anxiety disorder is such that you can't function very well. So, sometimes it is a fine line between basic anxious feelings which are normal and debilitating anxiety.
Avatar f tn So the straightforward answer to your question is that it probably would not be beneficial to your treatment. It probably wouldn't make any difference at all.
1141699 tn?1261501160 Then if you have almost no exposure to sun and have no good source of vitamin D in your diet you should consider buying a vitamin D to help the absorption of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin A, E, K are not to be considered and are found in sufficient amount in your diet and they don't have a strong impact like the vitamin C and vitamins B. One thing you should also consider to help with depression is a natural antidepressant called Rhodiola rosea ( Golden Root, Roseroot, Aaron's Rod ).
458072 tn?1291415186 Needless to say, I am trying to get that under control. Using Armour as it is natural. 585414 tn?1288941302 "New medicines are being developed that are expected to transform the care of patients with hepatitis C, making treatment far more effective and far less grueling." FAR less grueling ??.:) But anyhow, people have been waiting a long time for the drugs to be approved and some people don't have much more time to wait as their health is continuing to decline. So it would be nice if these drugs really are approved in the near future. Good idea for this forum btw.
