Common Questions and Answers about Stroke symptoms dizziness

stroke

Avatar m tn Hello, I'm wondering if my symptoms are indicative of a mild stroke. I've had this same thing happen a couple of times over the last decade, with varying severity, the most recent incident being two weeks ago. I went to sleep with a headache and woke up extremely dizzy, hoping a couple more hours of sleep would make it go away, which it did not. A headache persisted for the next two days and after it was finally gone the mild dizziness and general weakness has persisted ever since.
Avatar n tn There is not alot of info in your post, but with arm pain and neck pain along with dizziness and fever, your fiance should be consulting with a doctor ASAP who can make the call after running simple steps to check for heart problems or stroke problems Wishing you the very best M
Avatar m tn Is dizziness that is immediately relieved by chewing an aspirin a ministroke?
Avatar f tn I have brain damage from my stroke in the right Basil Ganglia and I also deal with dizziness. I have blacked out as a result of my dizziness. I didn't think it was related but your question makes me wonder. The only thing else I know about the Basil Ganglia was what my doc told me and that was this area of damage caused my complete left sided paralysis the night of my stroke. I would definitely pursue how you got that from your doc. I think infarct means brain damage.
Avatar m tn Hi there. The symptoms of dizziness or hypotension, bradycardia and shortness of breath do not make you more prone for a heat stroke. Though you may have dehydration due to heat stroke which can cause dizziness. You need a cardiac assessment for conditions like heart blocks where the heart rate is decreased causing hypotension as a result. Anemia could also be a cause for dizziness and shortness of breath on walking but there should be accompanying tachycardia in that case.
Avatar n tn Went for about 2 months with no dizziness. Approximately 3-4 weeks ago, the dizziness returned worse than ever and more often. ER visit MRI of the head was negative. Carotid ultrasound at MD's office was negative. No heart problems other than MVP. Had a small child run into my left jaw prior to Christmas 07 but CT of sinuses and L jaw show no infections or break/fracture/dislocate. ENT MD diagnosed badly deviated septum, but this dizziness started in January - never present before.
Avatar n tn He sent me to clinic that specializes in balance and dizziness. I had VNG (Videoelectronystagmography) and CDP (Computerized Dynamic Posturography) tests done and was told I have inner ear damage which could have been the result of a stroke I had five years ago. Dizziness can have a lot of causes. It might help you to look at the web site of my therapist, www.nomorevertigo.com.

5621588 tn?1371086206 Hi, my name is Adam and I recently had a brain stem stroke. (About 2 weeks ago) I lost my ability to eat and my right side is fairly numb. I'm 35 years old from upstate NY. I know now after reading up on brain stem strokes that I am lucky to even be alive. I also suffer from pretty sever anxiety and panic attacks, which doesn't go very well with being a stroke survivor, as the symptoms of my panic attacks often mimic stroke symptoms.
Avatar n tn The next day he woke up with the same symptoms as the stroke 6 years ago and we assumed he had another stroke. The MRI, CTScan shows no new stroke, but his symptoms continue and he doesn't seem to be getting much better. He has lost his job due to the memory loss issues. Any thoughts on what could have happened? We are seeing a neuropsychologist.
Avatar f tn I am no professional but this seems like a stroke. A stroke is when blood is lost in one side of the brain causing dizziness, loss of motor skills, confusion, blurred vision, and other symptoms. I am not trying to scare you but a stroke is rather serious. Do some research and if you think the symptoms match up force her to see a doctor.
Avatar f tn From my symptoms during MI and from what I have heard a few others say, dizziness was not a problem. Nausea certainly was and the pains in the chest area were very scary. Personally I would have though dizziness/nausea could be a TIA (mini stroke). It is unlikely that an MI would stop after 2 hours. I would explain your symptoms to a Doctor and have a CT scan of your head just to be on the safe side, especially as it runs in the family.
1557045 tn?1294555036 I would relax a little bit, put the thoughts of stroke out of your mind unless any of the more typical symptoms pop up but it sounds like the docs pretty much gave you a green light. You may want to read up on the sciatic nerve issues .....good luck to you on this and keep up w. the good work with taking such great care of your body and Happy New Year.......

605252 tn?1220112165 That being said, you need an evaluation NOT at a diabetic clinic but at a stroke specialty center. The symptoms you describe are clearly neurological in nature.
Avatar m tn Hello, My guess is that the dizziness and headache may be caused more by your medication than Afib. Symptoms of stroke can include dizziness among them, but usually other symptoms are going on that would lead a Cardiologist to investigate further. I have seen cases of Afib and low heart rates but they are not as common. I would just watch to see if the dizziness occurs when your heart rate is low (less than 60 beats per minute), or if they occur soon after you have taken your medication.
Avatar n tn Symptoms after stroke mostly include - numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg on one side of the body , confusion, trouble speaking, swallowing, seeing , trouble walking, dizziness , headaches .Symptoms of stroke may or may not last for long . Proper rehabilitation may relieve the symptoms within a few weeks to months . Rehabilitation phase includes physical therapy , good nutrition comprising of multivitamins , multiminerals , protein and Omega 3 supplements.
Avatar m tn Its likely from the CT scan that your fathers symptoms are due to the subacute infarct. Stroke can be ischemic or hemorrhagic. Ischemic stroke occurs as a result of blockage to an artery. For this therapy with clot dissolving drugs (thrombolytics), should be initiated early. Aspirin, an anti-thrombotic drug, is given immediately after an ischemic stroke to reduce the likelihood of having another stroke. Tissue plasminogen activator (TPA), needs to be given within 4.
Avatar f tn What should I do about these symptoms? It started with a headache and dizziness, and now I have eye twitches and nose bleeds?
