Avatar m tn I had a stress test and the results were: First degree heart block and left anterior fascicular block. what further tests can I have and what can I do to limit the progression to complete heart block. Can anything be done to minimise any stroke or heart attack?
Avatar f tn g stress echocardiogram) and hold with pushing for early cardiology appointment until results of stress test is available (i.e if the stress test is negative you may likely wait until late June for cardiology appointment). I would not recommend any self -cardiac care BEFORE presence of significant coronary disease (blockages in heart vessels) is ruled out by stress test.
Avatar n tn Although they are not cardiologists, they have significant training in cardiology. My first and third stress test were performed under the supervision of a family practice doctor and it was interpreted by a pathologists. The second was done by a cardiologists in a heart clinic away from my small home town. The results of all three were similar. There is no question in my mind an internal medicine specialist is well qualified to do a nuclear stress test.
Avatar m tn My primary care physician is sending me for a cardiac stress test. I was debating on whether I should ask for a cardiopulmonary stress test instead. I have difficulty breathing and shortness of breath. Also, I have low blood oxygen (High Hemoglobin and High Hematocrit) and low carbon dioxide. I know the cardiopulmonary stress test measures gas exchange during exercise. I just don't want to have to do both tests at some point, if there is nothing wrong with my heart.
Avatar m tn m not a needle guy and I actually passed out and hit my head on the wall when they were putting the IV in - prior to the stress test. I freaked the nurses out. I insisted on getting the stress test done after that and the cardiologist agreed that it would be a good "worst case" scenario. So I still got up and ran on the treadmill for them. I want to say that I ran for 15 minutes. But they're monitoring you BP/HR etc so don't worry. They're not going to kill you!
492329 tn?1290883385 Sometimes there are micro vessel blockage that escapes the stress/echo test. There will be the same symptoms as coronary artery occlusions. Does nitrate medication relieve the pain?
Avatar f tn My pulmonologist said tests he did indicated need for echo stress test to rule out ischemic heart disease and referred me to a cardiology practice who scheduled the test. They even got approval from ins. co. I'm having symptoms and anxious (but eager) for the test. The test was to be tomorrow.
Avatar m tn Thans for your response. Basicly I was just wondering whether the test was normal or not. I had a stress test and ecg done as well. I don't really have a history of heart problems or any risk factors but I guess they want to rule out the more serious stuff first.
Avatar f tn test with myocardial perfusion imaging revealed mild to moderate ischemia involving the basal anterior septum and mid anterior septal walls. He is status post recent (4/7/08) four-vessel bypass graft with a LIMA to the LAD. My husband has been labeled a walking piece of plaque by his cardiologist. With his open-heart surgery being so recent, with him being diabetic, and he has never had any symptoms of his illness - should this recent test be looked into further by your opinion?
Avatar f tn No significant EKG changes during vasodilator stress test. 2. Normal post stress resting left ventricular wall motion and ejection fraction of about 77%. 3. Mildly severe fixed defect involving the apical anterior wall, likely breast attenuation. 4. No reversible defects noted to indicate ischemia.
Avatar n tn t agree on why I did so well on the stress test. Q. Can some one do this well on a stress test, ie 13.5 minutes and still have major heart problems? What's next?
Avatar n tn As follow up my doctor did a nuclear stress test, results showing normal, good blood flow and no blockages. Is the result correct? Where did the two blockages shown during the catherization go? I was just confused by the results, which were given to me via answering machine by a nurse. Should I call my doctor to question the results of the stress test?
