Avatar f tn Good day - Jan I went to my Gino for normal yearley follow up - I am 44 yr - hy accidently discovered that my heart beat is irregular. Sent me for ECG and I also went for a heart sonar. The ECG was 'normal' or the dr did not comment - he also did some blood tests, which was all normal.
Avatar m tn I have had my heart checked out and found to be ok by cardioogists. I have taken stress tests. I am and the end of my rope so to speak and have not found anything yet to help but am open for suggestions. I did go to the above web site but dang, the yogis are all the way in India. Surely there must be someone closer by??
Avatar f tn If you have an irregular heart beat, those pauses and then more forceful beats, on a regular basis......is this hard on your heart and are you more likely to have heart trouble later in life? I have worn a holter monitor, had a stress test and echocardogram, and they say there is no problem that requires treatment. I do have am above normal blood calcium level, and I have for years, and I wonder if that could be related.
Avatar f tn i am 52 and over weight i have had 3 sivere epasodes of rapid heart beats and flutters which follow the fastest heart beat was 204 there are heart problems in the family i am going threw my menapause and i have been stressed for around 14 yrs and up untill 2 mths before my first epasode i stoped taking prozac i dont seem to be getting much of an answer from medical professionals thank you
Avatar m tn Clasic heart attach warning, sweating, fatigue, pain between the shoulder blades, shortness of breath. An EKG shows irregular heart beat and low heart rate of 40. A stress test is administered and I pass with flying colors. They have to stop me. I still continue the symptoms and in fact they now involve greater fatigue, shorness of breath and a raspy thropugh and cough. All sounds familiar to a possible heart problem. I had no followup from a doctor after the stress test.
Avatar n tn I've had many episodes over the years--racing heart, irregular heart beat, tightening in chest with faintness. I also have had my thyroid removed. Boy oh boy, it's not been fun. Lately I have become more worried about heart problems. My doctor says I'm fine but he sent me to a cardiologist who has ordered an echo/stress test. I am scared to death!!! The cardiologist checked me and said that from what he could tell my heart seems fine. But I still am SCARED!
Avatar f tn I had a nuclear stress test yesterday. Any ideas. I am tired of my anxiety and heart problems ruining my life.
1584046 tn?1296756782 But I found out I actually have a heart murmur. Which is an irregular heart beat. To be honest, you are probably noticing your heart skipping beats at night time because you're relaxed and everything is generally quieter. I still freak myself out sometimes but its reassuring to know that i've had it checked out and they have told me it is actually a good thing because you heart isn't working as hard as most because it is skipping a beat every now and then.
Avatar f tn Premature atrial contractions and/or premature ventricular contractions are the terms used for when the heart tosses out an extra beat (feels like a skipped beat). They can be isolated beats, in patterns, runs, etc. The key is whether you have a structurally normal heart. That's determined by an echocardiogram. Did your husband have an echo? Murmurs can range from innocent to serious. Do you have any more information as to the type of the murmur.
Avatar n tn I purchased a home BP monitor so that I can track my bp. On rare occasions I would get an irregular heart beat reading. When I would recheck it would not show. Today I have been doing my spring cleaning and if I stop what I am doing, sit down and immediately take my BP the irregular heartbeat symbol shows up most of the time. If I then sit still for a bit and take it again it doesn't show.
Avatar f tn You mention a heart doctor (cardiologist?) and a stress test. My understanding of a stress test, I've had several, most nuclear stress tests, is to check on how well the blood is getting to heart muscles. Given you got good results on the stress test (here stress refers to physical stress on the body/heart, not mental stress) it is unlikely that you have any blockage - that's good. You didn't mention EKG, but you did have a holter monitor.
Avatar n tn I bought an AliveCor two-lead ECG device and I was able to get two 30 second ECGs - one that is normal (when I was not experiencing the irregular beat) and one that is abnormal (when I was experiencing the irregular beat). AliveCor created a PDF file for each. My name and birthday were on each of these PDF files so I downloaded Wondershare's free pdf editor to remove my name and birthday. Wondershare creates a watermark (and wondershare link) on the pdf document until you buy the upgrade.
12182312 tn?1427683956 The biggest triggers are stress/anxiety, dehydration, stomach issues like acid reflux and gerd and caffeine. Thyroid disorders usually present with a fast beat as opposed to an irregular beat. Unforutnately unless you are having upwards of 10s of thousands of them a day the main course of action is to avoid the triggers and some take a low dose beta blocker.
6007112 tn?1425490117 I had a sever heart something my bpm raced to 240 and stayed over 160 for 30 min causing me to have this test. I have rare irregular heart beat and have had palpitations off and on for 15 years this however was the worst attack ever. Can you help in explaining these results.
Avatar f tn For the last couple days my heart has been beating really fast for atleast one minute and then goes normal for 15 seconds then back to high. At this stage it's happening every other minute. Last time This happened to me when I was 17. Now I'm 22 and it has started again but worse. I suffer from asthma. I go to the gym regularly. What can this be?
Avatar f tn A non stress test is just monitoring the baby's heart beat, movement, and your contractions (if any) for 20-60min, usually. Just making sure things are relatively normal, like the heart beat being steady and consistent, etc. I ate ice and played on my phone. Though a woman had her baby that hour while I was there..kind of awesome!
1326629 tn?1274902684 Irregular heart beat can be caused by stress, in a heart that is in "perfect" condition. What I understand was done is not related to "fixing" or even diagnosing an irregular heart beat. The irregularity is "electrical", and is diagnosed an electrocariogram (which you didn't mention, or I've overlooked it). If the problem can not be seen on an electocardiogram, a long term monitor (24 hours to several days) may be needed to diagnose.
Avatar f tn ve also had intermittent chest pains for the last several months, though not during the irregular beat episodes. The irregular beats are what finally drove me to make a doctor's appointment, which was Oct. 29. I must add that when I told my doctor why I was there -- the irregular beats -- explaining that I realized I put off making an appointment because of not "wanting to go through the whole process", he laughed out loud, doubling over at the waist.
1144176 tn?1261320869 Ok my heart has been beating irregular for the past 3 days straight, it is saturday night and started thursday afternoon. i take medication for anxiety and fast heart rate but only take it as needed, which is not that often. my heart is not beating fast but every minute or so it just beats real hard and irregular for a few seconds. it is annoying and am worried about playing my hockey game tommorow. am i going to die?? there is not really any pain but this has never happened to me i am 24.
645800 tn?1466860955 Turns out a low heart rate can cause an irregular heart beat. At the time of the irregular heart beat my pulse was down to 52. Any pulse below 60 in a normal person is considered too low. I know that my BP medications do lower my heart rate. MY PC had adjusted my BP medications in the past when I had a pulse of 58. So I expect she will adjust them again when I see her again. On the other hand the current medication just barely keep my BP in the right range.
Avatar f tn m taking a diurectic and losiniprol. On occasion when I check by bp a double heart comes up which signifys an irregular heart beat. I don't have any chest pains or feel palpitations, sometimes tired. Should I be worried???
