I have an apt today to do a stress test since am over due. I want to go in there informed, does anyone know what it is or whats going to happen?

ughhhh im so ready to have my baby girl :) has anyone had to take the stress test to make sure baby was ok before they went into labor or got induced... I go on monday to get test done to make sure my baby is ok... just wanted to know what they do, and how long it takes.......

Has anyone taken a stress test ? My doctor got me so worried. I told him today at my appt that my baby doesn't move as much as he use to everyone else told me it's bcuz he's losing space. So I wasn't too concerned and now my doc wants to make sure everything is okay so tomorrow I'm going in for a stress test . Has anyone done this? I'm pretty worried now :( I just want everything to be okay.

So I have to go now every week for a stress test that they are going to be doing on my baby because I have extra fluid. Does anybody know how they do it?

They can also monitor your bp and heart rate while on the machine. It's a good test to get done.

I had a chemically induced nuclear stress test due to bad knees as well, don't worry about it. The drug will make you feel like you're running a marathon and the sensation stops immediately after they stop it in about 2 minutes.It was really nothing I would be opposed to doing again let alone be something I would worry about. Nope non stress test are easy. They just want to monitor your baby more closely! They usually put you on a monitor and listen to baby's heart beat while you relax in a recliner! You will be fine and so will baby.

They moniter the baby's movement and they give you a button to press everytime the baby moves you press . if the baby moves 6 times or more then your good if not theyll do an ultrasound and see whats going on,i had it done last week cuz i didnt feel my baby moving then on the moniter she started moving none stop so i kept pressing the button.

non stress test is when they lay you on an exam table and strap on fetal monitures to the belly to moniture the baby's activity. i started mine at around 24 weeks. it usually took me 10-20 minutes but my 2 were super active and they got all the information they needed in that time. the tech told me some women were there for as long as 2-3 hours. so it all depends on your little bun and how active s/he is. if you have a good tech it's not so bad.
