strattera

Avatar n tn m 32 and been on strattera for a couple months it seems to work wonders for me.It makes me super sleepy so I take it at night and the next day I feel fine and not a stimulant so no high feeling. But It will make you very sleepy do not know why they say take it in the morning.
Avatar f tn t been on medicine for it since college. Starts out with my former medicine, strattera, but when I would take it I felt my heart was out of control and my blood pressure went up. Now on wellbutrin for about a week but I feel foggy and it is causing worse ibs. Not sure if that side effect will go away but giving it a try. My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now.
Avatar f tn also 1 doc (mine) put me on effexor. another doc (PSY) who talked to me for 3 sec put me on paxil.
Avatar n tn I have been on Pristiq 100mg for 3 months, Wellbutrin 150mg for 5 weeks and we added Strattera 40mg. Pristiq for PMDD, Wellbutrin for motivation and Strattera for focus. Separately they help each thing only. So was wondering if anyone else is on a combo like this and it’s helped. And how long. I seem to be anxious more lately before adding Strattera....hoping this helps it. No libido what so ever.
Avatar n tn I am 71 and I have suspected I have ADHD since I was a kid. I just did not know what the name for it was. My teachers always asked my mom why I never paid attention and the first time I felt normal was when I was introduced to diet pills. I recently told my psychiatrist if I didn't get a hold of myself and start focusing I was going to be homeless in a few weeks cuz I hadn't started a job I need for the rent.
Avatar n tn The first thing my Doctor said to me was that Strattera was known to cause heightened aggression and mood swings. He also said that due to the fact that I am super-sensitive to any medication it could make it much worse. Is this possible? I didn't even realize that my behavior hadn't gotten that bad.
990354 tn?1307132886 I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!

Avatar f tn it seem every medication they give my son makes him sleep all day after school. i dont want to stop the meds if they are going to help him. he tired adderall and strattera with the same side affect. can anyone recommend something that will work without him getting sleepy.
Avatar f tn My doctor has me on welubturon 150mg, strattera 25mg and klonopin 1mg. The klonopin for sleep. I love the way the other two make me feel throughout the day. Focused, happy. However, I work for a gym and my physical abilities are very important as they are my job. Ever since I've started the strattera, I'm only able to give about 60% and I still feel flu'ish. Weak, sick, cold sweats. That's not me. They want me to try this for three weeks.
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
209987 tn?1451935465 Not sure what the pills I tried last time were called. It was over 12 years ago if that helps. As for the anxiety pills I've been on a long list...effexor, paxil, xanax, ativan ( which I call the demon pill...it's the one that kept me in hospital having one panic attack after another). I've just looked up this Strattera...I figure if they won't give me champix to help quit smoking then they probably won't give me the Strattera either...Why?
Avatar n tn my son thomas was dignosed with a d h d when he was 6 he is now 9 he is so busy and as poor concentron. the docter have tryed him on lots of diffrent medcasion but nothing as worked this week the doctor changed him to 5mg of dexedrine. after 3 hours of having the tablet my son running around and doing dangers things. do 1 tablet last all day ? thank you xx This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn A few weeks ago, within minutes of swallowing the pill, my heart began to hurt very, very badly (my throat, too) that basically incapacitated me from doing anything and left me trying to vomit it out. This chest pain lasted for about 1.5 hours. I assumed I must have taken the medication in under 24 hours from the previous day's dose.
Avatar m tn Yesterday, I noticed that you suggested Strattera to another mom for tics. Our doctor told us also to change to Strattera.
Avatar f tn My son developed Raynard's Phenomen after taking Strattera. Weaning him down on the dosage reduced the symptoms. His hands otherwise where blue, white, and cold through out the day. He had a reaction from the stimulants and can not take them. HAs anyone used accupuncture for controlling ADD symptoms?
Avatar n tn Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
Avatar n tn The Adderal XR was effective at combating my ADHD symptoms but made my anxiety worse, so my doctor prescribed Strattera. I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms.
Avatar n tn I have no idea whether Strattera is a better alternative, can anyone tell me if this is true? Besides, Strattera seems to have a lot of side effects (though Concerta and other drugs also have), and can't be taken with Zoloft that my daughter is taking (as I read from the Internet). I read that when taking Strattera, one should not eat chocolate or consume tea/coffee. Is it true?
1063332 tn?1254751034 I admit I have been taking the 40 mg of strattera every other day even though pdoc switched me to vyvanse. Am taking that as well but just makes me a little moody when it wears off. (as did adderall). I also was diagnosed with 'supposed' chronic fatigue syndrome earlier this year due to chronic pain and fatigue. I am torn on this diagnoses as my mental issues could exhibit the same symptoms.
Avatar m tn Does strattera give any false positive reading for a urine or hair follicle test? Would it come up as a amphetamine or methamphetamine, or any other illegal substance?
Avatar f tn Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. The site is http://www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/medications.htm And the following site also lists (with info) non stimulant meds (they do mention strattera). http://www.baltimorepsych.com/NonStimulants.
Avatar m tn Yes I am working on tapering off the pain meds. It is not working so well right now due my Phych. putting me on Strattera for ADHD and I had to stop it due to the fact it was cutting down on the effectiveness of the pain meds. I am almost thinking my main doctor is using it for the ween down from the meds and in place of a ADHD med till the phych. can get me on something different. My main doctor is trying to work with my phych. but has trouble getting a hold of him.
Avatar f tn t up the mg on the zoloft. So he said he wanted her to start taking Strattera 25 mg. Her dr referred her to a behavior dr today & he asked about medicines she was on. I told him we were to change to the new one and he said absolutely not to change it. He said that Strattera wasn't for anxiety and for her to just up her zoloft to 50 mg (which is opposite of what other dr said). I just want to do what is best for her to get better.
Avatar m tn I've been a 120 mg of strattera 2 days per doctors orders and I feel REALLY stupid. Will this go away?
Avatar n tn i take my cymbalta in the morning. it makes me sooo sleepy. my dr says to take in in the morning because it has adrenaline in it. anybody else have this problem?
