strattera

Avatar n tn t feeling the Strattera and could i please get enough adderal until the Strattera kicked in. He originally had boo hooed any narcotic adhd meds. But he gave me enough for a week. When I took the amphetamine I immediately felt relief and I am at an age where I am pretty sure what my body needs and I don't want to play around with newer drugs with side effects I am afraid of.
Avatar m tn There are alternatives in addition to Strattera. Relative to the efficacy of Strattera, it is actually performing quite well, and some prescribers are employing it as a front line (vs alternative) tretament for ADHD.
Avatar n tn We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
Avatar n tn I have been on the pill form of Paroxetine for over 10 years now and would like to wean off slowly 2-4mgs. at a time using the liquid form. Is it safe? I read in a book on how to get off Paxil that one should not switch. What could be the cons to switching to the liquid form?
Avatar f tn ve worked for in that time. And be miserable without working out. Would taking a klonopin with the strattera in the am help eleviate those symptoms? My pharamist thinks my blood pressure is getting to high. Would a klonopin combat that so I can at least perform at 100%?
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
Avatar f tn It was first documented in Germany with a 12 year old girl in 2006. There is a link. Probably due to the increase in Norepinephrine in the body. Just and FYI it happened to us. Have done tons of research for ADD and it's subtype.
Avatar f tn Most people in clinical studies who experienced side effects were not bothered enough to stop using Strattera. Strattera has not been tested in children under 6 years of age or in geriatric adults.
Avatar m tn Does strattera give any false positive reading for a urine or hair follicle test? Would it come up as a amphetamine or methamphetamine, or any other illegal substance?
Avatar f tn Wellbutrin is probably being used as a mood stabilizer or even as an antidepressant because of the addiction, Strattera is also used in the same fashion, but works in adults to help with ADHD as well. There are many options out there.
Avatar n tn My daughter is nearly 11 years old and has been taking Concerta (now on 36mg) since March. The doctor recommended a switch to Strattera for the reason that it works 24 hours (Concerta is effective for only 12 hours) and will help my daughter concentrate more. I have no idea whether Strattera is a better alternative, can anyone tell me if this is true?
Avatar n tn The Adderal XR was effective at combating my ADHD symptoms but made my anxiety worse, so my doctor prescribed Strattera. I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms.
Avatar f tn Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. The site is http://www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/medications.htm And the following site also lists (with info) non stimulant meds (they do mention strattera). http://www.baltimorepsych.com/NonStimulants.
Avatar n tn I have been on Pristiq 100mg for 3 months, Wellbutrin 150mg for 5 weeks and we added Strattera 40mg. Pristiq for PMDD, Wellbutrin for motivation and Strattera for focus. Separately they help each thing only. So was wondering if anyone else is on a combo like this and it’s helped. And how long. I seem to be anxious more lately before adding Strattera....hoping this helps it. No libido what so ever.
Avatar f tn I posted about a week ago about how I was hooked on Oxy, liquid for the past year. Well Monday I got the courage to go to the doctor and ask him what I can do. He prescribed me with an anti depressant, something to lower my blood pressure and for ADD patients and something to sleep. OMG! I litterally felt like I was on my death bed. I didn't want to move, I didn't want to eat, I couldn't sleep, I layed on my bed, then to the couch, then to my bed, and back to the couch.
Avatar n tn i feel tired all the time how much longer should it take for the effects to kick in?
Avatar f tn Librax does have a warning that says, This medication may cause withdrawal reactions, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or in high doses. In such cases, withdrawal symptoms (such as shakiness, sweating, nausea, seizures) may occur if you suddenly stop using this medication." Did you stop it suddenly or slowly taper off?
Avatar m tn Anyone know if strattera will cause a positive or false positive result in a urine drug test.
Avatar m tn and her old behaviors and inattention resurfaced. We went form 20mg to 40mg to 60mg in about a month, but it did not seem to work anymore. I was under the impression that Strattera results were immediate, but in doing some research tonight I have seem reports of Strattera taking weeks to become fully effective. Could we have jumped the gun taking her off it? Now the Dr has her on ritalin. She started with 5mg daily and in 3 weeks is up to 20mg daily.
Avatar m tn I've been a 120 mg of strattera 2 days per doctors orders and I feel REALLY stupid. Will this go away?
Avatar n tn Im a 34 year old female just diagnosed with ADD. my dr out me on strattera because of an existing heart problem. I started it 5 days ago. the 1st day i took it at 8am. by 12 i couldnt keep my head off my desk. and i killed my scalp with my letter opener. i felt like i had bugs all in my head. the next day i took it at 1pm. same thing. im taking it later at night so i can hopefully sleep through all of the "bugs". has anyone else had itching as a side effect?
Avatar n tn I take the minimal dose and find it works better than strattera. I usually take a 5mg in the morning and another 5mg around 1pm. I don't believe there is anything that is perfect though, but it definitely takes the edge off if you know what I mean.
Avatar f tn Omega-3 Fatthy Acids, in the form of fish oilt supplements, certainly offer a benefit for the health of brain cells (neurons). However, having said that, Omega-3 is not an ADHD treatment. While Omega-3 will likely offer a benefit to your son, it will not eliminate symptoms of ADHD (assuming that your son was diagnosed accurately to begin with).
Avatar f tn He is very obsessive when someone in the family is in the hospital or there is a death in the family. That is all he talks about. when my grandmother died last spring he wanted to go up and see her in her casket over and over. He takes Vyvanse for his adhd. we tried strattera but it really messed him up. he got lethargic and very confused and his doctor put him back on vyvanse. we have had the best results with that.
990354 tn?1307132886 I have been on nine hundred different anti-depressants and nothing really has helped which is why I often relapse back to the opiates. My doc did give me Strattera to try in combination with the pristiq. It is a non-stimulant and prob not as addictive. However, I am worried it wont have the same effects as the adderall has for me. Please I need help and advice from anyone who has been on strattera or knows anyone who has had success on it ???
