Common Questions and Answers about Strattera best time to take

strattera

Avatar f tn Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. The site is http://www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/medications.htm And the following site also lists (with info) non stimulant meds (they do mention strattera). http://www.baltimorepsych.com/NonStimulants.
Avatar m tn I've been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
Avatar n tn Is it safe to take Adderal XR and Strattera at the same time? I only have a two week supply of Strattera remaining and I'm very much dreading going back to my old self. If it is safe to combine both medications, what should I say to my doctor?
Avatar n tn Sorry I have a keyboard that does what it wants to, I meant Explosive not exposive
Avatar f tn My doctor has me on welubturon 150mg, strattera 25mg and klonopin 1mg. The klonopin for sleep. I love the way the other two make me feel throughout the day. Focused, happy. However, I work for a gym and my physical abilities are very important as they are my job. Ever since I've started the strattera, I'm only able to give about 60% and I still feel flu'ish. Weak, sick, cold sweats. That's not me. They want me to try this for three weeks.
Avatar m tn No clue which is better. I think it probably depends on the individual. Both do take a while to take effect (compared to a stimulant). If you google them, you will be able to see lots of anecdotal posts on how it worked for that poster or their children. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I have 3 children (out of 5) also diagnosed which prompted me to get checked..Anyone take Strattera with good results...my doc can give me 30 day sample packs every month but I understand it does not work the same? I also have Bipolar II and PTSD which may make a difference? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Strattera will take two to four weeks to work. If this combo does not work for you, you might want to discuss with your doctor using a light stimulant medicine. http://www.leeheymd.com/charts/adhd_1.
Avatar f tn Hummm, the problem is that strattera is not a stimulant, which is probably why it was prescribed to your son, and I can not find Raynard's symptoms listed as any side effect of strattera. "Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggeration of vasomotor responses to cold or emotional stress." ADHD can cause a lot of emotional stress. You really need to talk with your doctor. You also need to do some research as allmymarbles suggested.
Avatar n tn I take my strattera before bed I wake up feeling normal and can focus. I don't know why they say to take it in the morning.
Avatar n tn I googled strattera and zoloft and most of what i found says that it is ok to take them together. (you should also do the same, so you can see what I read). Not sure where you read about the chocolate, but that would be news to me. She really shouldn't be consuming enough tea or coffee at her age to make any difference. But that is something to ask your doctor. You can google concerta and strattera and see the comparisons. There is a difference.
Avatar m tn Just wondering what is the best time to take valtrex if on suppressive therapy 500mg X1 day?
Avatar f tn Its great to hear that some of you have experienced no or few side effects. Please tell me what you suggest is the best time of day to take the double pill dosage. I am so thrilled to hear of your successes with this treatment. God Bless.
544172 tn?1216520164 I will start tx soon and would like some input as to the best time to take meds, injection once a week and oral meds every 8 hours. My five y/o grand daughter, and her mom (full time college student) live with me. I was thinking Thurs. or Fri. for injection (would like to attend church Sun) and 6am, 2pm, and 10pm for oral meds.
Avatar m tn In order to keep best our kidney, what time should be take a pill of viread? Am or pm?
396332 tn?1320003615 Are you seeing a doctor or psychiatrist? Since both Cymbalta and strattera target norepinephrine, they could conflict, and could cause more anxiety -- they're both stimulants to a certain extent, though both can also cause sedation, meds being what they are.
Avatar n tn i feel tired all the time how much longer should it take for the effects to kick in?
Avatar n tn Started Prevacid and also Strattera for ADD. We were able to wean off of the Prevacid and just stick to Strattera, as our peds thinks the Strattera helps him with the anxiety related to the GERD, and therefore he had no complaints of symptoms of GERD. In March we went off of the Strattera, and within 4 weeks the symptoms of GERD re-appeared ( Not eating, coughing, feeling like something is caught in his throat.) We went back on Strattera and Prevacid.
Avatar m tn If you google strattera you can see that it does not immediately effect you like a stimulant medication will. So its possible that this is what is going on and you need to give it some more time. At any rate, you should always remain in good communication with your doctor. He needs to know what is going on. Also, he should be experienced with his patients using strattera, so should be able to tell you, what to expect. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Yesterday, I noticed that you suggested Strattera to another mom for tics. Our doctor told us also to change to Strattera.
Avatar m tn Strattera should work better, but it may take up to 4 weeks to feel full effect. Sounds like your doc is taking it slowly - which is a good idea! I personally don't know of anybody on both, but I can understand why they both might be prescribed. Would think that the main problem might be a sleepy feeling. Do let your doc know how things are going.
Avatar f tn When i was about 5 or 7 years old thats when my doctor told my mom i have ADHD. My doctor gave me to take Vyvanse and Strattera. The Vyvanse i take is 60mg capsules and for Strattera i take 60mg capsules to. I had problems over the years. I get distracted very easily but i try not to look or be distracted but its hard sometimes. especially when people are talking, making noise and being annoying is distracting me. There are other stuff i turn my attention to though.
Avatar n tn The first thing my Doctor said to me was that Strattera was known to cause heightened aggression and mood swings. He also said that due to the fact that I am super-sensitive to any medication it could make it much worse. Is this possible? I didn't even realize that my behavior hadn't gotten that bad.
Avatar f tn Not sure if that side effect will go away but giving it a try. My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now. Im thinking it was the benzo withdrawal but I have no experience with that either so Idk. Also, with wellbutrin I dont have the heart rate just feel sleepy and foggy mind. Any help would be appreciated and forgive any typos. I'm on my phone.
Avatar m tn s supervision, of course) and allowing enough time, several weeks to months, to see if I could eventually adjust to tolerate side effects. Making too many changes too fast works against recovery, as I discovered early on in my treatment. It took *a lot longer* to get to feeling better.
