strattera

Avatar m tn Take it before bed otherwise you feel strange and tired.Well that's what I do. I was going to stop taking it until I figured out it works for me as long as I can sleep off the effects.
Avatar n tn I take my strattera before bed I wake up feeling normal and can focus. I don't know why they say to take it in the morning.
Avatar m tn Hepatotoxicity is possible, though of course not probable, with Strattera, and lab work would be ordered before starting it and during tretament with it. In the 3+ years between January of 2005 and April of 2008, a number (6) of caes of liver illness were reported to the FDA. I would suggest talking with the prescribing clinician and reviewing the options. There are alternatives in addition to Strattera.
Avatar m tn Does strattera give any false positive reading for a urine or hair follicle test? Would it come up as a amphetamine or methamphetamine, or any other illegal substance?
Avatar n tn The reflux started before we started the Strattera, and the symptoms went away after we started it. NOW, the second time around on Strattera, we are not having the same luck with it, at least on the old dose. I am hoping that the increased dose of both meds does the trick. I am just not having any luck finding anyone else who has dealt with this.
1063332 tn?1254751034 I take Lamictal, wellbutrin, klonopin, geodon, vistaril, and now vyvanase (although strattera helped my moods a lot better plus the ADHD symptoms it caused breathing problems at 80 mg a day). I have severe insomnia and a lot of meds work opposite on me, hence making me a 'problem child' for any pdoc I've had. So the new combo seems to be doing well, but I would like to take a smaller dosage of the strattera as well. Don't see pdoc until 10/27.
311086 tn?1224728918 I started Strattera after being diagnosted with Adult ADHD (Severe) on the DSM-IV by my Psychologist. My MD (family doctor) has since confirmed it. He put me on 40mg / day (taken at around 11am every day, without food). For the entire first week, I was fine. I didn't really see any improvement, i'm still hyper, find it hard to concentrate, etc. He then told me that on Wednsday (10/1/2008) that I am to upgrade to 60mg per day. I took my dose on 10/1 and then on 10/2.
Avatar n tn So was wondering if anyone else is on a combo like this and it’s helped. And how long. I seem to be anxious more lately before adding Strattera....hoping this helps it. No libido what so ever.
Avatar f tn t been on medicine for it since college. Starts out with my former medicine, strattera, but when I would take it I felt my heart was out of control and my blood pressure went up. Now on wellbutrin for about a week but I feel foggy and it is causing worse ibs. Not sure if that side effect will go away but giving it a try. My question is, if anyone can answer, why was I able to take strattera as a child with 0 side effects and then high heart rate etc now.
Avatar n tn t feeling the Strattera and could i please get enough adderal until the Strattera kicked in. He originally had boo hooed any narcotic adhd meds. But he gave me enough for a week. When I took the amphetamine I immediately felt relief and I am at an age where I am pretty sure what my body needs and I don't want to play around with newer drugs with side effects I am afraid of.
990354 tn?1307132886 I have been on both strattera and adderall. Adderall is very addicting to this (me) addict. The strattera didnt give the buzz adderall did. ALSO many people have reported adderall increased depression. I hope this helps. Congrats on getting off the opiates. YOUR AWESOME !!
Avatar f tn My doctor has me on welubturon 150mg, strattera 25mg and klonopin 1mg. The klonopin for sleep. I love the way the other two make me feel throughout the day. Focused, happy. However, I work for a gym and my physical abilities are very important as they are my job. Ever since I've started the strattera, I'm only able to give about 60% and I still feel flu'ish. Weak, sick, cold sweats. That's not me. They want me to try this for three weeks.
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.
Avatar f tn My son developed Raynard's Phenomen after taking Strattera. Weaning him down on the dosage reduced the symptoms. His hands otherwise where blue, white, and cold through out the day. He had a reaction from the stimulants and can not take them. HAs anyone used accupuncture for controlling ADD symptoms?
Avatar n tn The Adderal XR was effective at combating my ADHD symptoms but made my anxiety worse, so my doctor prescribed Strattera. I found the Strattera to be not nearly as effective as Adderal XR, so without consulting my doctor, I began taking both medications together. This is working extraordinarily well. The Strattera seems to ease my anxiety while slightly reducing ADHD symptoms and the Adderal XR nearly eliminates the remaining ADHD symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnose with major depressive disorder generalized anxiety and adhd when i was 17 or 18 had a nervous breakdown they put me on 150mg zoloft 60mg strattera and 3mg xanax did fine then about 3 years ago stopped driving at this time i wasnt taking the strattera or xanax just the fear of driving bc i had 2 major panick attacks while by myself fast forward 3 years going through a divorce and the depression and crazy thoughts came on bad well before the divorce was trying to get off the z
Avatar f tn According to the web, Strattera carries with it a "black box warning" - the most serious warning a prescription med can carry and still be on the market - that strattera has been linked to suicidal thoughts in children. I agree with Margy - I would call that doing terribly on strattera. I'm not quite sure what behaviors strattera has helped with, but a child with new suicide thoughts are about the worst thing I can think of.
Avatar f tn Strattera is a non stimulant med used for ADHD. Whether or not it would be effective for you, I don't know. This site lists almost all possible treatment options. Although for some reason, I couldn't find Strattera listed, so you need to google that. The site is http://www.healing-arts.org/children/ADHD/medications.htm And the following site also lists (with info) non stimulant meds (they do mention strattera). http://www.baltimorepsych.com/NonStimulants.
Avatar m tn Anyone know if strattera will cause a positive or false positive result in a urine drug test.
Avatar f tn I posted about a week ago about how I was hooked on Oxy, liquid for the past year. Well Monday I got the courage to go to the doctor and ask him what I can do. He prescribed me with an anti depressant, something to lower my blood pressure and for ADD patients and something to sleep. OMG! I litterally felt like I was on my death bed. I didn't want to move, I didn't want to eat, I couldn't sleep, I layed on my bed, then to the couch, then to my bed, and back to the couch.
Avatar n tn Please clarify what are the results of not changing her medicine to Strattera? Will she continue to pick her scabs? Could something happen as result of these tics?

Avatar m tn t even know what strattera was before I researched it. He told me I never heard of that. He wanted to start me on 100 mg of strattera but I told him 40mg to start was better. He seemed like he didn't know what the heck he was doing. Many times the patient knows more than the doctor.
Avatar n tn I am an over 35 Adult female with ADHD. I have been taking Strattera for several years. It wasn't until my aggressive behavior and anger was announced to me by my husband as being a problem that I sought help with counceling and with my primary care Doctor. The first thing my Doctor said to me was that Strattera was known to cause heightened aggression and mood swings. He also said that due to the fact that I am super-sensitive to any medication it could make it much worse. Is this possible?
