hey my diagnoses is bipolar depression i take 150 zoloft,50naltrexone,60mg inderol,trileptal 900,stelazine 6mg,cogentin 0.

It is rare, but some people have a pre-disposition to bipolar disorder/manic depression, and somehow the Ritalin triggered this in me. I have a large family history of mentally interesting individuals and one of my parents is Bipolar, but mildly.

It has been 11 years since I was first diagnosed with a bipolar spectrum disorder: first, cyclothymia, soon after bipolar 2, and, recently (after thorough re-examination of my long-term history) bipolar 1. My medication regimen has evolved to the point now where I'm maintaining on Lamictal and Celexa, with later additions of bupropion and most recently Strattera for symptoms of ADHD that persisted.

t sleep and always showing more and more the symptoms of ODD, ADHD and IED at school and at home. The doctor wanted to start a mood stabilizer but I don't want him on anything that will make him gain weight or turn into a zombie.

My son has been on Strattera 18mg for two months now and the dr upped it to 25mg 4 days ago moods are worse cant sleep and can be triggered with anything to lash out on me.

so he reffered me to a p doc i am now on zoloft 150/naltraxone 50mg/Trileptal 900 mg/stelazine 6mg/cogentin 0.5 /inderol 60mg and now just started strattera...am i being over medicated?the dr told me that im on low doses is that true?....i was wondering if strattera will work for me in the future...

My 8 year old grandson has been on strattera and prozac for a year now. About a month ago he starting acting out in very strange ways. He pooped on the floor in the school bathroom and blamed it on someone else, then urinated in the school bathroom and swears in wasn't him. He went into his grandfathers barn and threw plastic bins of collectibles all over and broke things, then took mail out of neighbors mailboxes and threw it in the water in the ditch.

was then diagnosed with bipolar a year later. went into drug rehab and was given depacoke along with the strattera. after a year or two stopped all prescribed meds. at 22 began drinking alot. his moods went from bad to worse, extreme anxiety....... afraid to drive,go to far from home, go over bridges,afraid of dying,racing thoughts,hypochondriac, just to name some of his systems. at 25 started paxil, felt somewhat better. went off after 1 1/2 years. got much worse 3 months later.

its really common in bipolar trust me you're not alnoe...I can relate I have the same problem basicly when I'm doing anything regaurdless or weather or not I'm enjoying the activity or not like watching a movie or reading a book, or its flat out boring like a super long lecture.... I don't really know what to say because up unitl this point...

The doctor doubled the dose and the anger and aggression etc. became worse. That was when the doctor diagnosed Bipolar and took him off stimulant and put him on Resperidone / mood stabilizer. He has been on resperidone for 11/2 week showing only ADHD and ODD symptoms. He is driving us crazy but not showing any signs of anger or aggression. We then introduced ADHD medication, guanfacine, evening only. Second day he started exhibiting more aggressive, angry behavior.

i dont know if this has anything to do with it but i was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and i think he also may have it because of the other symptoms he is having like the mood swings and the irratability and i need to know if they maybe affecting him with him on the adderal please some one help me out here im at wits end im scared ******** for him.

Hello. I have been struggling with bipolar disorder since I was 17. I have been on my current medication regimen for about a year. I take 900 mgs of lithium and four mgs of respiridone. I feel stable enough and I don't have outbursts anymore. Lets just say I have been giving my husband less trouble. I am now in my mid twenties and I experience a delay in my reaction time, however I still can feel hypomanic at times.

I am a 24 year old female and began taking Strattera 6 or 7 months ago. It seemed effective at first, but was wearing off so we increased from 80mg to 100mg a little over a month ago. A few weeks ago, within minutes of swallowing the pill, my heart began to hurt very, very badly (my throat, too) that basically incapacitated me from doing anything and left me trying to vomit it out. This chest pain lasted for about 1.5 hours.

I've been prescribed adderall for the past 4 years, I currently take 75mg per day. A couple months ago my Dr. started me on strattera in conjunction with my adderall. I have not noticed any improvement in my ability to concentrate or remain organized since starting the strattera, however my anxiety is gone and I am finally happy. A couple weeks ago my Dr. left and I was given a "temp" to take her place.

Just wondering if anyone out there has had such a large cocktail to remain stable and if anyone knows if adding a lower dose of strattera and a small dose of cymbalta to the mix would cause trouble. I admit I have been taking the 40 mg of strattera every other day even though pdoc switched me to vyvanse. Am taking that as well but just makes me a little moody when it wears off. (as did adderall).

Reading what you have written I would get a 2nd opinion i would be looking into bipolar add and obsessive compulsive. Bipolar and add/adhd are very similar and add can be diagnosed when in actual fact its bipolar. I believe my mood disorder is bipolar because i had a short manic episode followed by the most depressed episode of my life which is what i am going through now. Do you have a short fuse/Bad temper do you follow things through. Do you feel content?

I read that Its 50/50. Depends though, I know ppl that are bipolar and have three kids, one has mood disorder. I'm bipolar, so is my husband and were having a baby in Nov. So I'm curious to see how this will work out. Either way what better people to help a child or someone deal with it then someone who actually has it themselves.

ask your Dr. about Strattera. It is prescribed for Attention Deficit disorder, but is not a stimulant. It is non-addictive and not a controlled substance. It also has some of the same properties as SSNRI's. Since it affects neurotransmitters it is a very useful drug.

Are you seeing a doctor or psychiatrist? Since both Cymbalta and strattera target norepinephrine, they could conflict, and could cause more anxiety -- they're both stimulants to a certain extent, though both can also cause sedation, meds being what they are.

Serequel really helped me. I have ADHD too so after 4 months on Serequel, they put me on Strattera first. I still seemed spaced out. Then I begged for Adderall after taking 3 30mg for 3 days my girlfriend got for me as a test. The Adderall has made me a different person. I use to be called ADD boy by my friends parents. LOL The only thing I have to watch is my blood pressure. I'm 42 and the adderall has the reverse affect as that of a normal person. It calms and focuses me.

Is it safe to take Adderal XR and Strattera at the same time? I only have a two week supply of Strattera remaining and I'm very much dreading going back to my old self. If it is safe to combine both medications, what should I say to my doctor?

Doctors try to avoid vyvanse and adderall ect with bipolar because it causes mania. Adderal is not used for bipolar. For bipolar i take abilify (aripiprizole) 10mg and 1000mg of divalproex sodium.

I feel like I'm having a mind seizure sometimes. We still have very little knowledge of the mind and brain, though we are learning more and more. We don't really know why bipolar meds work, there are theories, but no hard science. I find addiction and bipolar to be more similar than seizures and bipolar.
