280234 tn?1532986249 I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at age 35. I don't have a family history. Besides the malignant tumor, I also have a number of precancerous polyps in my sigmoid and rectum. It's not that uncommon. These polyps grow slowly. The reason your MD wants f/u in 3 years is that she's afraid if she misses anything in the initial scope. But after the next one, you are safe to go on longer intervals.
Avatar f tn At age 27 I had my first colonoscopy, because of stomach pain. The result was a 2mm hyperplastic polyp with lymphoid aggregates in the rectum. I had my second colonoscopy today (age 28), because of rectal bleeding. They found that I have an internal hemorrhoid and a 4mm diminutive polyp in the rectum. I do not have the test results back yet. Should I be having more colonoscopies then usual because of them finding polyps?
Avatar n tn What is the age factor in Ovarian cancer? I have had lower back pain at night for some years accompanied by an unusual overheated feeling during the night. I also seem to be getting an enormous stomache and weight gain. As I am now 65 years of age I feel I would be too old for ovarian cancer but not absolutely sure. Last year I was diagnosed with thrombocythemia, would this have anything to do with these symptoms.
Avatar f tn I have noticed some "large"lumps in both breasts, however, it was larger in the right. It was located in the upper outer part and I've read that these are the common sites for cancer. To be in my age I understand that it's less likely to get breast cancer, however, I have an aunt who has this type of cancer and my moms aunt who died with this diease. My aunt is in her mid 30s.
Avatar f tn On my father side my aunt became infertile at a young age due to pre-cancerous tumors on her ovaries and had them removed at age 30. My grandmother also had to have a hysterectomy for the same reasons. It's been two months and although my fluid filled cyst has gone away my solid cyst (or what the doctor sometimes refers to as a tumor) has not. They ordered a CA125 test and my blood levels came back elevated and borderline. i have not received another test yet.
1506428 tn?1290113504 People who develop colon cancer at a young age like yourself usually have an hereditary colon disease in the family like FAP ( Familial Adenomatous Polyposis). There are two forms, one is where thousands of polyps develop in the colon between the age of 8 and the teen years. With the attenuated form, polyps develop slowly and just a few at a time. With one cancer develops by their late 30's, the other by their 40's. It is very rare for one your age to develop polyps.
Avatar n tn Hi chabe06, I hope you don't mind me asking, but how old are you? I ask this because all of the information that I've found thus far says that stomach polyps are more common in people age 60+. I am 21 years old and just had a fluoroscopy done on Friday. It came back negative for what my doc was looking for, but the nurse called me yesterday to tell me that they found "several" polyps in my stomach. I'm having an upper endoscopy done on Monday.
Avatar f tn I think average age is higher for other types of ovarian cancer. At your age ovarian cancer is extremely rare. My advice to you is just to take good care of yourself. Get your annual gyn exams and pap smears. They don't show ovarian cancer, but they are important. Don't worry so much. Just enjoy your precious life.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if you could offer any opinion on the matter, whether genetics play much of a role and whether it is possible of someone my age/gender to get breast cancer - also taking into account that cancers of this type are painless(?) and often show other symptoms (discharge etc).
Avatar f tn I am 25 years old and lately ive been feel noisier having back pains, watery discharge stomach craps and pains on my lower stomach just want to know if I am at risk of civical cancer
Avatar f tn I am 19 years old, since I was really young I've always had problems with my digestive system. There are times that I go 4-5 days without going to the bathroom. I am always constipated, and when I eat my stomach becomes really bloated to the point that I look pregnant. I've always had this problem, sometimes when I do go to the bathroom I bleed a lot, and sometimes very little. Also when I eat the upper part of my stomach begins to hurt.
Avatar m tn s side was my grandmother and her colon cancer (there are five living children of grandma no cancer) and the only cancer that I can think of on my mom's side is my great grandmother had breast cancer in her 70s.
Avatar n tn I also notice a little tenderness below bottom of breastbone. When I start to sit up from laying position, same are develops a bubble under skin.
Avatar n tn That's hard to answer. At your age stomach cancer is INCREDIBLY rare. Just try to get it out of your mind.
Avatar n tn I agree with Charm that you need to see a specialist. However, colon cancer is uncommon in someone your age. But it could be H Pylori or ulcers that have caused black stool.
Avatar m tn I am a 42 year old male about 50lbs over weight and I have been working with my doctor since 2/09 to address Accelerated High Blood Pressure. I continued to have symptoms of Accelerated High Blood Pressure after being prescribed an aggressive medication regiment. I was then referred to a Internal Medicine Doctor who changed/reduced the proscribed medications. During a office visit we discussed abdominal discomfort I had been having.
Avatar n tn I am 19 years of age, and for about over a month i have had pain in the lower part of my stomach and also the lower back. I tend to feel full and my stomach seems beloted. i tend to feel sick most of the time, but have not vomited yet. I have been to the doctors a couple of times and from doing some test like urine, gloucous, liver, tyroid and chest has all come back normal. i don't know why but i fear i might have some sort of cancer. can someone help me please.
717581 tn?1230070230 I note that you are 16 years old and the chances of developing colon cancer at this young age are probably one in a million - or one in a squillion!! However, rectal/anal bleeding is never normal and medical advice should always be sought. Do consult a doctor and obtain a definite diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Hey there, I am 33. I have had blood in stools for over 2 years and I have extremely bad anxiety so I would not go and get it checked out for fear of colon cancer. I finally went and saw a rectal dr back oct of 09 he did a sigmoidoscopy and said all looked fine, but wanted to do colonoscopy to find out why I was bleeding and for so long. Well I made the appt, and then cancelled 2 days before, well finally a lifelong friend and another dear friend of mine, convinced me I NEEDED to get it done.
Avatar n tn I'm an 18 year old male. I don't think colon cancer runs in the family. About a year and a half ago I notice bright red blood in the toilet and on the toilet paper after a bowel movement that I had felt slightly constipated during. After that, on and off I noticed blood in my stool. Everntually the bleeding stopped and I also noticed mucus on the toilet paper that smelled foul.
Avatar n tn Not necessarily. Stomach cancer can often have negative blood work (except you may be anemic). However it is much much more likely that you have something like an ulcer causing the black specks. Stomach cancer is very rare! How old are you?
Avatar f tn I also probably should have mentioned that we have a family history of stomach cancer and stomach ulcers, which is also what got me to thinking this. My diet, when I do manage to get it down, is good - no worries there. I do not smoke, and drink alcohol occasionally. My specialist told me about an endoscopy but he said he didn't think I needed one, so instead, told me to wait. Do you really think it's worthwhile going back?
Avatar f tn The important thing to remember is that if you allow yourself to get too worked up you will only make it seem to get worse, your stomach will produce more gastrin upsetting your stomach and your adrenal glands will secrete more adrenaline making your heart beat faster and give you a jittery anxious feeling. Try to distract yourself by keeping busy. I hope that your appointment goes well and you get the answers you need.
Avatar m tn Hi i'm 23 years old and i'm worried i've got stomach cancer as i've read a lot of things on the internet about it.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately the only cure for bradycardia is a pacemaker and the doctor will try to avoid that for as long as possible given your young age so just try to do your best to investigate possible life style changes that help you feel better. Quitting smoking was a very very good start. As odd as this may sound, stomach issues seem to flare up my palpitations so what for things that cause excess gas and treat any acid reflux and see if that helps.
Avatar f tn I am an ovarian/uterine cancer Survivor...2 primaries at the same time, young age 39 and no family history. Surgery & 6 rounds chemo..I chose not to do radiation. My ca125 was low. On April 5th it will be 18 years since my diagnosis. I used natural and western medicine. Fast forward to 2023 and cancer is exploding. It IS the new jabs which ARE lowerimg your own immune system.
