My Dr has me on Sinequan. Sinequan for sleep???? It isnt even helping the anxiety attacks let a long putting me to sleep. And everytime I go back for appt they just increase the dose.
Why cant they give me a real sleeping pill like Sonata??
I am very frustrated and getting pretty crabby cause Im soooo sleepy!! I dont even want to be around myself right now let along others.
Have you tried Ambien or Sonata? I take Ambien (have been on it for about 4 years) - some nights it works well and others it's like I've taken a tic tac - but there are nights when nothing short of getting hit over the head with a hammer is going to help me sleep! I used to be on the CR version of the Ambien, until my insurance decided it wasn't going to cover that formula any longer, so now I'm back to the 10mg dose.
It sounds more like the Sonata is causing this, unless this is something you've been taking for awhile, as these are common side effects of it. I doubt the B complex is causing the problem, but I wonder, when are taking it and when are you taking Sam-e?
The Z sleep meds, (Ambien & Sonata) can be hard to taper off due to their relatively short half life. Talk to your doctor about using a Dr Ashton style taper where you switch to valium & taper off that which should help minimize the side effects you experience.
Your GABA receptors have become tolerant to these drugs & it won't get any better if you continue with them but you should be able to taper very slowly using valium without too much discomfort.
I am depressed over this as well as postpartum issues and have just been put on Celexa for anxiety and depression as well as Sonata for sleep by a recommended psychiatrist. The Sonata is too short-acthing though. I called the doc on call but he does not want to prescribe anything stronger until tomorrow, if adding melatonin and/or benadryl does not help.
I am currently wearing a holter monitor and have also worn en event monitor recently.
Hi peoples. Back again, sorry. I see that you good folks know something about sleeping problems. I've had those for years. Can't get to sleep, then in the morning don't want to wake up. I don't mean I don't get "unsleepy", I mean consciousness isn't to be desired. That's a different thing.
Anyway I have been with this replaced doctor for a yr and a half, I had been explaining to him that 2 vicaprofen in a 24 hour period is not sufficient he by the way had taken me off the motrin and changed my Xanax to Ativan. I also have been on sonata 10 mg for all these yrs. I was given a urine test which is pretty normal, before I took it I told him that there would prob. not be hydrocodone in it as we had been discussing that I needed more pain relief.
I am off the subject here on this forum, but I want to thank you for the information about what has worked for you to help you sleep. I hope you can post it on the sleep problems forum. That is where many could be helped too. I tried several different things when I went to bed last night....I turned out all lights including the patio one that lights up the yard but also one of the windows. I turned the clock to the wall. I used ear plugs to shut out most sounds.
My last refill for percocet was 10/19 and 12/09 for ambien and that was my plastic surgeon. My surgeon refused to give me anything else. He told me to find a PCP and I did 12/17 but this FNP isn't addressing my pain/insomnia effectively. On 12/17/10 she wrote me a script for indocin and benadryl. This didn't work so on 12/23/10 she wrote a questionable or I'm not sure who wrote it for sonata, percocet, and dicflonac.
I do not have trouble maintaining sleep just onset. Usually this occurs 3-4 nights a week and can lay awake for 2-4 hours before falling asleep. This causes me to be extremely tired the next day. I really avoid taking naps and can "power" through the day only to feel wide awake come bed time around 11-12 pm. I usually get up around 6:30 to 7 and keep a pretty regular routine. I have went to the doctor and have gotten sleep counseling and relaxation techniques.
I have a real problem with insomnia I went to the doctor last week and got Sonata for sleep and I asked for clonadine because I knew that I would be out of pills this week and would be having w/d sysptoms. He did not want to give me that he gave me klonapin instead.. I have not told him I have a problem with pills. The sonata is not working for my insomnia so I have made an another appt to see him this week to see if I can get the clonadine.
Yo. You're at risk for cardiac arrest, resp failure, and maybe stroke. Aside from what looks like 2.5 Lortabs, those are very high doses of all those tranks. Any one alone would be no sweat, but don't mix multiple downs man! That's how you punch your ticket. Go to the ER just to be safe, and if you don't, next time try to stick with one drug at a time!
I am so exusted, and can only lay in bed with the heating pad for my bladder,but,etc,I walk around and try to do somethings and then feel like Im gonna collaspe. I am sooo sleep deprived....Ive tried trazadone,sereoqol, melatonin, valerian, kava kava, sonata,abmbian and the cr one, lunesta, rozarom. I went to the emergancy room saturday afternoon b/c was about to lose my mind and I was in pain, They were very nice, I told the doctor everyting.
