Avatar f tn it seems to be healing but is still slightly an openish soar. I had a headache of course for the past three days which has reduced to a dull ache. There is a loss of feeling around the area, accept the gash which is more sore. I get slightly sick to my stomache when its messed with and now my head seams to be constontly itching. I also had a slight eye twitch which has stopped. Im just wondering what it could be and if i should still go to the doctor. Thankyou for your advice.
10506901 tn?1431350757 However due to the circumstance I highly doubt what happened caused a concussion. I had a migraine while training at a martial arts gym and when the migraine symptoms lasted for 3 weeks I was diagnosed with concussion. The reason I do not think it is a concussion was because the only thing that could have caused it was me falling forward and stopping myself with my arms and it sort of jolted my body.
Avatar m tn Again, no need for CT scan just had a mild concussion. I have severe anxiety. Now a month later, I get very slight twinges of a headache for a couple seconds near my eyes (3 or 4 times a day) where I hit my head. Some days I feel just fine and other days I feel dazed ( out of it, foggy) for a couple of hours. Every day I have "twinges" about 3 or 4 times a day My anxiety is an issue I'm sure with this. My doc said people with GAD take longer to recover sometimes.
Avatar f tn Since this is a concussion injury which is a brain injury causes by a sudden blow to the head or to the body. Symptoms of a concussion include memory loss, headaches or blurry vision, nausea, inability to stand or walk or having coordination and balance problems. There is an entity of post concussive syndrome where there is inability to think and headaches, changes in sleep patterns and personality etc. This needs to be evaluated clinically, CT/MRI scan brain needs to be done to rule out.
Avatar m tn Three days ago I ran into a light poll while I was running and blacked out for just a few minutes. I came to and my roommate tried keeping me concious, but I don't remember any of our interactions or even what had happen until they told me the next day. I have pain and bruising above my left eye and slightly under it. I'm a smoker, and two days later I noticed smoking making my stomach feel kind of unsettling and giving me a slight headache. This has never happened before.

Avatar n tn 4 months ago hours after a normal natural childbirth, I started getting a sever headache in the temporal part of my head, like an ice pick hit me, everyday at least 2x at most 8. The sharp pain lasts for 25-30 seconds but the I feel it turns to a cramp for 30 min. I had an MRI and a MRA of the brain. MRA is normal, the MRI showed a 6mm lesion in the anterotemporal lobe.
Avatar m tn About an hour later, I got a slight headache (I am thinking due to all the worrying). So I went to the doctor after reading all the horror stories on the internet about people dying from hitting their heads (big mistake!). The doctor asked me some questions, made me walk, touch my nose, squeeze their hand, etc. and said that they didn't think I needed further testing as it was probably just a minor event.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply! He seems to be doing fine now--vision seems to be back to normal. Nurse at school thought he might have slight concussion but he wasn't complaining of a headache or feeling nauseous. I will still have him checked though-thanks!
Avatar f tn Hello. A concussion means that you have transient ( short lasting) symptoms of a traumatic brain injury. The symptoms may include memory loss, reduced ability to plan and organize, slowing of response to stimuli, etc. You can tell how sever your symptoms are only after you have recovered from the concussion. Post concussion syndrome involves prolonged symptoms. Usually headache is a common symptom. Memory is also commonly affected. It's less than a month since you have had the fall.
Avatar n tn A CT scan is not mandatory for concussion, however this should be done for any person with neurologic symptoms such as preferential weakness of one part of the body, severe headache, or decreasing sensorium. Unconsciousness is not a full proof indication for a CT scan.
Avatar m tn You may in fact have a slight concussion...and possible whip lash.wouldnt hurt to seek medical attention. not sure how much a roll of banding weighs but I would not just leave it..you may have nerves from your cervical spine swollen or muscle so it could also be inflammation.if you don't want to see a dr, go to a chiropractor..!
Avatar f tn Vomiting/nausea, light sensitivity, sensitivity to noise, confusion/altered mental state, headache, fatigue.... All are concussion symptoms. If he was hit twice he needs to see a Dr.
Avatar m tn I took a blow to the back of my head 3 days ago, it was pretty hard but I did not lose consciousness or get dizzy. My vision has been fine also. I do have a headache now for three days. Should I be concerned?
Avatar m tn A visit to his GP 5 days ago indicated he may have a slight ear infection so he was prescribed a z-pack, but his symptoms have gotten worse. Last night we went to the ER and a head and neck CT scan found nothing, but he was kept overnight for observation, then discharged him with no real conclusion. His blood pressure and white blood count were normal. His verbal skills aren't good enough to articulate his symptoms and it's heartbreaking to seem him struggle.
Avatar m tn I have suffered from 2 concussions. My first one happened tubing behind a boat in summer 2011. Fell off the tube and immediately felt dizzy, almost as if it took me a few seconds to regain myself. I had never felt that feeling before, but assumed the jolt my head took when it hit the water that I had suffered a concussion. I didn't begin to feel that "pressure headache" until a couple of hours later that afternoon.
Avatar m tn A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.
Avatar m tn What other symptoms are present? Can you elaborate on the character of the headache in the frontal and temple area? How about your head injury? This can be due to primary headaches such as tension headache which usually presents with pressure or viselike headache. Healing or recovering from a concussion takes time and may take weeks or even months. Headaches, dizziness, irritability and concentration problems may be observed.
Avatar f tn I am a little bit concerned that you may have had a minor stroke last year and may have impending symptoms of another one. When you are nineteen these events are unlikely, but I am painting a "worse-case" scenario. There is nothing really critical about this, but sometime in the next few days would do fine. Of course a consult with a neurologist is in order.
