What does matter is that you actually tell your story. Your personal experience with pain, doctors, medications, etc. can and will affect your readers. I received this comment on my blog a few days ago from a young mother. “Thank you so much for taking the time to create this site. I just left the hospital two days ago with cardiac syndrome X suspected.
Avatar f tn Low iron, or more specifically, low ferritin, is one of the most overlooked causes of low thyroid function. [1] Ferritin is the stored form of iron that is used by the cells and a better measure of available iron levels than serum iron. Iron is a component of multiple enzymes involved with cellular metabolism, so low iron means poorly functioning enzymes, and less than optimal metabolism. Those with low iron also have low T4 and even lower T3 levels.
Avatar f tn t on one of the others or because of the combination of a natural remedy. Some people think that just because something is a natural remedy and comes from a health store, that there won't be any serious issues with it. The fact is that a lot of natural remedies can do more damage than one would think and they aren't government regulated, so you are in actual fact taking a bigger chance with them, in some cases, than you would if you took something from the pharmacist.
Avatar f tn Absolutely correct, supine, an upward increment of greater than or equal to 30 bpm paired with symptoms of orthostatic intolerance meets the criterion of POTS, regardless of the absolute value of the heart rate. I highly recommend you get a tilt table test, acesew, as that can confirm the diagnosis of dysautonomia/POTS. You may need to go to a major teaching hospital to access one of these tests, if you are not already accessing your specialists through one.

1615999 tn?1307461942 In view of the importance of family medical history, it can be unsettling to not know for certain a cause of death of a family member. My father's sleep was much like you describe, but it was back before sleep apnea was even on the radar. Sometimes longstanding sleep apnea can cause changes to the heart that might be evident on autopsy, but is not always the case.

Aim: To assess whether the supplement of vitamin D to the conventional Peg/RBV therapy could improve SVR.
Avatar m tn Accept that you had this thought but say to yourself because it’s not you, it has no importance to you and other and just let that thought fly by like the millions of other thoughts we have. I have OCD and I went through really hard times because these thoughts left me wondering, is this really me? But these uncontrollable thoughts made me feel horrible and I hated them. I couldn’t sleep at night and I stopped eating.
1506509 tn?1289829784 No, your state of mind is not becoming damaged by your dreams. We sleep mainly to allow our brains to "re-group" and this is why dreams rarely make sense to us. Your anxiety may be causing the dreams and the creatures represent your fears, and your mind is clearing out all of this when you dream. I once had a Neurologist tell me that in med school if they didn't dream, they felt they weren't rested!
Avatar m tn Right guys i saw my hep doc today and enquired about my previous thread of ultra scans.... She was very hesitant to put me forward for a couple reasons:- 1). She didn't feel an ultra scan would tell her anymore than what my initial liver biopsy did. I questioned this as it was done early 2006 and wondered if the condition of my liver woulda changed. She replied it has changed, but obviously for the better.
612551 tn?1450022175 A lot of studies are going on to study the importance of REM sleep, which is the dream phase of sleep. Psychologists generally agree that achieving the dream state of sleep is a critical element for maintaining good mental health. So, the questionnaire could implicate two possibilities, whether you are having adequate REM phase sleep. This can be interrupted, if you have sleep disorders like obstructive sleep apnea. OSA can also cause hypoxia.

Avatar f tn It is not a silly problem; A lot of studies have been done to highlight the importance of sleep and its rejuvenating capacity. Sleep is required to heal; it causes regeneration of the neurons within the cerebral cortex. Prolonged sleep loss leads to episodes of ‘micro sleep’, where in the person has several seconds of actual sleep in between wakefulness, this leads to a decrease in performance and in turn behavior.
