So when I sleep I like to switch sides. Lately when I do I feel pain in my stomach. Its hard to describe but it leaves me moaning til the pain goes away. I thought maybe if I don't eat and drink before bed then it wouldn't happen. I have yet to test that theory lol. Should I be concerned?

if you want to put off buying maternity pants for a while, you can buy a thing called a bella band or belly band, i found one at target for about 18 bucks and u wear it over your pants, unbuttoned, and it holds them up while not showing they are unbuttoned and it just looks like an undershirt if the shirt isnt as far down as it needs to go. its a lifesaver! i havent had to buy new pants yet! Just left doctor, they said they saw an amniotic band and now I'm in full time panic mode . Ftm. Scared to sleep on my side now, because I'm paranoid the baby might get stuck to the band. Help ? What to do ?

They are so you can wear your regular pants a little longer,just like a reall thick elastic waist band. I looked into getting one but I started filling out on my rear and hips area, so even without fastening the waist my pants are tight. Everyone puts on the weight a little different so you will have to judge yourself.

t know what to make of this. I am positive for Igenex IgM band #39. She wrote in IgG band #41 neg. - do they only test IgM band #39 afnd IgG band #41? Is she confused, are they confused, or am I confused????? Why would they not be able to produce the "official" lab results. I was in marching band in Highschool and in my nightmare someone was hitting me in the stomach over and over on field with the lights radiating. I have significant issues with sleep. Sleep aides help, but be carefully monitored so you don't become addicted to them. I have also found that a special "chiari pillow" called the "zipperhead" helps tremendously. Do a google search for "chiari pillow" and several will pop up. I got mine from Medpillow. It has a zipper on the end and they send you extra filling that you can take out or add. I rely on mind when my head is tender. Hope this helps.

Keep a hot water bottle/heating pad while sleeping and apply a local analgesic cream. Other possibilities are vascular pathologies such as deep vein thrombosis and clots and will need a dopplar study. Peripheral neuropathies as in diabetes, hypothyroidism, Lyme's and lupus are the other possibilities. It can also be spinal nerve compression in lower back.

Wikipedia has a good explanation as does Rice University ,which includes one of the exercises to keep the iliotibial (IT band) band from tightening up. It can be very painful! What you really need first is a good physcial therapist to help restore the IT band to as close to normal as possible. Then continue with streches to maintain it. About 10 years ago I had surgery for Phimosis. I had the Dorsal Slit procedure and it turned out well. Now I've noticed the 'band' of tightness it slowly coming back. I read about the steroid cream that was applied in tests to young boys but is there any kind of cream that may work in adults? I no longer have the medical coverage I did when I had the surgery but I'd also like to know if a full circumcision would guarantee that the tight band would never come back.
