Avatar m tn Six weeks ago I had my third shoulder surgery where the surgeon removed a loose stitch and scar tissue. He said everything else looked fine and it feels a lot better and my range of motion has returned. I am so far pleased with the outcome. He did say my tendons in that shoulder were thinner than my right shoulder, but I should be fine barring any traumatic injury. My question is can thin tendons be thickened by exercise like building a muscle?

So you need to strengthen your triceps with exercises like rolling dumbbell extensions and dumbbell floor presses. Your back needs to be worked also. Your lats are used as a base to push from. Avatar n tn t usually enough, as some exercises are just easier than others and need more weight -- one purchase of them might come with a whole set of exercises to do with them if you buy from certain places. In the meantime, anything you do for exercise can be made more intensive by using light dumbbells -- squats, many ab exercises, core exercises, and I'm sure you know how to do simple curls and lifts. Just do them correctly so you don't injure yourself. Try starting with YouTube.

And no, its not a waste of time. Working out is making you healthier. Something like 6 pack abs aren't always the best indicator of who is healthy and who is not.

I don’t think that this is something bad but the ways he is trying is a bit crazy. Avatar m tn No matter how many ab exercises you do, it won't show until the layer of fat is gone. Crunches and flutter kicks may give you six pack and but they won't show. Cardio helps burn fat and will remove that layer right off your belly. Anything that can get you heart pumping is cardio so make it fun! Dance fast to an upbeat song. Do jumping jacks. Run in place or just run. Look up at home cardio workouts for some fun ideas. Zumba is a great cardio workout.
Avatar m tn are you taking physical therapy? They could provide you with certain exercises that will strengthen your joints....things that you could do right there at home! I do know swimming is an excellent exercise...because your weight is not on your joints because of the water.......just moving your joints helps also,it keeps the blood flowing...
Avatar m tn t start with heavy exercises, you can start your self in walking around in a quadrangle or field for an hour or two. I think walking can also burns fats, not that much but can also help for overweight people who want to reduce.
Avatar f tn You get a flat stomach by dieting, any exercise will help build some muscle there but most people have a six pack underneath the fat already, and everyone has a "flat stomach underneath the fat.. This is why and on skinny guys don't count :P Also, a lot of people's pooch or whatever you call it has a lot to do with inflammation of the digestive track.
Avatar m tn Last year I used to get a stinging pain in this area when doing narrow grip bench presses. I stopped that soon after but now its starting to bother me with the other exercises Im doing. Im pretty sure its the bench press thats aggravating it now, I think my technique is ok, only deviation in last year is keeping my elbows in rather than out, unless thats causing it? Anyway, hate to have to stop, thinking of maybe trying out the dumbell bench press instead, that way my wrist is a bit less rigid.
