Avatar f tn During the time it is advised to continue with physiotherapy which would help in preventing stiffness and regaining strength as well. Ice-packs and NSAIDS may be used for pain relief. If the pain becomes excruciation or unbearable at any time, it is advised to consult your orthopedician to look for secondary causes and appropriate pain management. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn I too have frozen shoulder following on from a Artriscopic Decommpression Sub operation. I feel I ahve gone backwards, did so well 10 days after my operation with regard to my movement and now I hav ethis issue. It is sooooooooo painful and it makes me feel sick on sudden movements and aches constantly.
Avatar f tn A nerve block is used during the operation which means that immediately after the operation the shoulder and arm may feel numb. This may last a few hours. After this the shoulder may well be sore and you will be given pain killers to help this whilst in hospital. These can be continued after you are discharged home. Ice packs may also help reduce pain. Wrap frozen peas or crushed ice in a damp, cold cloth and place on the shoulder for up to 15 minutes.

Avatar m tn Hi, i was just wondering if anyone would know if a nerve block i had for a shoulder operation could cause the issues im having with my shoulder and arm now, before i had only pain in my shoulder(rotor Cuff), after the operation and nerve block i had , i am still numb 6 mnths later, have burning feelings in whole arm, cannot turn wrist properly, fingers feel like they are "dead", limited use , all of this and im only 32 years old. Any answers would be appreciated.
1253246 tn?1332073310 cold, pain, then numbness (which is great because then you feel no pain). When I was in the bulk of pain, the only thing that helped me was ice but I am not sure the same would be true after surgery. Best of luck to you.
Avatar m tnPain and tension in my left shoulder, upper left back, jaw, left hand all the way to the fingers, left foot all the way to the fingers. • Pops and clicks in all of the related joints. • numbness in the left cheek, shoulder, arm and hand including the fingers (all of them), as well as the left foot.. my background: I am working in front of the computer all day. I have suffered from pain that was caused by sub discharges of my left shoulder in the past years.
Avatar f tn Management would primarily consist of pain relief and physical therapy. Anti inflammatory medications help in offering relief from painful symptoms. Exercise and stretching includes the ones to increase motion in the joint and second the ones to minimize the loss of muscle on the affected left arm if the condition persists to a chronic form. These exercise must be done several times a day. moist heat application can help loosen the joint and relief from pain.

Avatar f tn My mother had a hip replacement operation 12 days ago due to massive degeneration caused by rheumatoid arthritis. She was released from hospital 24 hours after the procedure, went back to her own home and managed extremely well for the first 5 days...nothing extraordinary in our experience, she has always had an amazingly high pain threshold....
Avatar f tn Hi, I have had shoulder pain from approx 2yrs resulting from an accident. My doctor referred me to an orthopeadic surgeon in dec 2008, it was dec 2009 when i finally received surgery. I had an arthroscopic procedure called sub acrominal decompression. I cannot tell you in words how painful this was!!!! Unfortunately my pain persisted and i developed a frozen shoulder and i had manipliation under anestetic in march 2010.

888132 tn?1304667943 You like most of the rest of us need pain relief and this means taking pain meds. They are available for ppl like us so that we can lead a normal productive life...Participate in society you might say. You no doubt have a dependancy on the Tramadol and that is normal. With the Tramadol not working and you being dependant on it, you might want to consider seeing a Pain Specialist who are very knowlagable in treating your pain in a professional manner. Don't let society play a role in that.
