Common Questions and Answers about Shoulder operation stories

operation

Avatar f tn Thanks for your info. I have heard different stories about felling better and worse after the removal. I also have a slow digesting stomach and a lazy colon so basically i feel bad all of the time. Hopefully this will at least get rid of the back/shoulder pain and the side pain. Did you have laproscopic surgery? How long was your recovery time? How long was the procedure? We are actually hoping since I have chronic constipation that my bowels will begin to move better.

Avatar f tn Last year I had an operation on my shoulder and now have a terrible pinky-purple scar. It is a thick line and also has lumps (I think it's tissue) I am only 14 so I get really self conscious about it, so if anyone knows anything or has the same problem- Please help?

Avatar f tn Hi, I have had shoulder pain from approx 2yrs resulting from an accident. My doctor referred me to an orthopeadic surgeon in dec 2008, it was dec 2009 when i finally received surgery. I had an arthroscopic procedure called sub acrominal decompression. I cannot tell you in words how painful this was!!!! Unfortunately my pain persisted and i developed a frozen shoulder and i had manipliation under anestetic in march 2010.
Avatar f tn The screw should be taken away in an operation. I think that when time is going on, PHPT will become worse and the shoulder operation will become more difficult to do. I had not time to discuss this with the doctor, as I could not ask many other questions either ( I had 2x30 minutes time). Just now I don’t have pain in the shoulder and therefore don’t like to go to the operation. But sometimes I have pain and weakness in the shoulder and neck spine.
Avatar m tn I have been advised to have an operation (arthroscopic) to the tendons of my rigth shoulder. The procedure is to repair the rotator cuff tendon and the biceps tendon. This could be due to an old injury as I was analyzed some years back with a frozen shoulder. Recently the pain and disconfort on my rigth shoulder was accelerated by exercising at the gym. I have now rested for 6months and the pain has gone away but I have lost some power in my right shoulder.
Avatar f tn A nerve block is used during the operation which means that immediately after the operation the shoulder and arm may feel numb. This may last a few hours. After this the shoulder may well be sore and you will be given pain killers to help this whilst in hospital. These can be continued after you are discharged home. Ice packs may also help reduce pain. Wrap frozen peas or crushed ice in a damp, cold cloth and place on the shoulder for up to 15 minutes.

Avatar f tn Pain is bound to happen after any operation. As this operation is arthroscopic and the damage is minimal, the chances of reinjuring the shoulder during sleep are very less. The recovery occurs in a series of phases. Keep helping yourself with physical therapy.
Avatar f tn I too have frozen shoulder following on from a Artriscopic Decommpression Sub operation. I feel I ahve gone backwards, did so well 10 days after my operation with regard to my movement and now I hav ethis issue. It is sooooooooo painful and it makes me feel sick on sudden movements and aches constantly.
Avatar f tn You can't really say an exact time frame that it takes a shoulder to 'refreeze' as every shoulder and every patient are different. They will work your shoulder gradually, working up to the full range that your ortho wants, based on what you can do.
7231119 tn?1395972116 Any one have any labor stories not the actual labor but events leading up to you decided to go in to the hospital. How your day or night was before you started. How you were feeling ect. Just curious.
Avatar n tn 21 days post-arthroscopic left shoulder surgery for removal of 3 spurs, arthritis, and shredded bursa the pain and daily discomfort along with nightly pain that causes need to leave the bed and move or sit in recliner is 10-20 times worse than before the operation whether I "rest" the shoulder by doing nothing but ice or use the shoulder while cutting or carrying firewood/using the arm in 'normal' daily activities there is no significant difference.
Avatar m tn I have both cervical and lumbar DDD that causes severe headache/neckache/shoulder pain, as well as lumbar pain--sometimes all occur together, sometimes it's more one or the other, mostly right-sided. I am 68 and have always been physically active. I have done some research on microsurgeries for neck and back. Anyone have info on results they or significant others have with this?
Avatar m tn Hi, i was just wondering if anyone would know if a nerve block i had for a shoulder operation could cause the issues im having with my shoulder and arm now, before i had only pain in my shoulder(rotor Cuff), after the operation and nerve block i had , i am still numb 6 mnths later, have burning feelings in whole arm, cannot turn wrist properly, fingers feel like they are "dead", limited use , all of this and im only 32 years old. Any answers would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn I will be going with out patient surgery to have a torn tendent repaired in my finger, the doctor said they can give me something in the shoulder instead of putting me to sleep to do the operation,do I need to stop taking my suboxone for this procedure . And what will they use in the shoulder..
564735 tn?1263943526 I had a second operation a month later. My cardialogist placed a pace maker on my shoulder and threaded the wire either through my neck or under my arm. They felt they had gotten all the cancer, but I had chemo for 6 months, once a month to get the remaining cels that could not be seen. They told me I had a 40% chance to live 5 years. I asked God, whose presence was with me all my waking time, to let me live until my grandchildren didn't need me anymore. And here I am going on my 15th year.

1263062 tn?1289450701 My symptoms are still severe pain in the neck/shoulder area, migraines (which I never had before), tingling feeling in left arm and foot, sharp shooting pain in mid back between shoulderblades, when it hits it feels like some one stabbed me with an electric probe and I get goosebumps all over my body. My question is could something else be wrong? Should I be sucking this up and returning to work like he asks? Should I be fighting it and ask for more time/test?

Avatar n tn Hi I have been struggling with this question for a few years now. My mother is currently 85 yrs. old, lives in a nursing home, wheelchair bound. Diagnosed with Parkinson's (does not really have the tremors, just hard for her brain to communicate with her muscles causing very hard time walking ...she "freezes" at times. Along with possible Parkinson's Dementia.
