Should omnicef be refrigerated

Common Questions and Answers about Should omnicef be refrigerated

omnicef

Avatar n tn I agree with the advice given by silverfox67 that you should take your daughter to the doctor. A note will have to be put on her medical records that she has had a reaction to the medication so that it is not prescribed to her again. As well as an antihistamine that the doctor can prescribe for your daughter, you can also apply calamine lotion or Caladril to help stop the itching. Natural live yogurt will also help to cool down the itching.
Avatar f tn I feel yu! I keep all the stuff I want that doesn't have to be refrigerated in my room but the cold stuff is hard to keep in the fridge ...
Avatar f tn I took her to her pediatrician that same day where they did a strep test which came back negative, prescribed omnicef and sent us home. The next day her temperature just kept skyrocketing, getting up to 106. That night I took her to the ER at Children's in Dallas where they ran another strep test, mono, flu, and cbc. Her mono, strep, and flu all came back negative. Her white blood count was at 21. They gave her a shot of rocephin, told us to continue the omnicef, sent us home.
Avatar m tn I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question, wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
154668 tn?1290115995 I peeled back the label on the vial and read that it should be kept refridgerated between 36 and 46 degrees. Does that mean long term storage or does that mean that we need to keep them cold if we go out for the afternoon?
Avatar f tn I have always been under the impression that insulin should always be refrigerated. I am seeing a patient that receives lantus QD and Novalog TID. she does not keep the pens that are being used, refrigerated, only the unused ones. Although even though they are not kept refrigerated, they do seem to keep her blood sugars under control. I wonder though if they were refrigerated would that make a big difference? I will call her physician if necessary.
1265027 tn?1284839951 his pediatrician prescribed Omnicef for severe ear infections. She said there was a 5% chance hed be allergic to that but she wanted to try it out. well, he was allergic. After 3 doses he broke out in HIVES all over his face and scalp scratching and screaming in a way no child ought to scream. I immediately gave him benadryl and stopped the meds (wed at 9am was the last dose) it is now friday afternoon he has no fever but is still breaking out in some hives. they go away on their own.
Avatar n tn I am thinking that since taking the omnicef that maybe Something in my system (gall bladder or ducts) were damaged by the omnicef and now I have too much bile production in the digestive tract or stomach which my be causing this problem. We all talk about acid reflux but not bile reflux which I read can also be a problem. Can anyone shed and insight as to what may be going on &/or possible solutions to this problem.
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry I didn't see this sooner! I guess I can't necessarily say what your daughter has contracted (I'm not a doctor, btw), I can tell you that I never tested positive for mono via the monospot test when I had it, and I was tested 3 times (initially, after a month, then after a couple more months). I had high EBV tests, but never the monospot. The symptoms your daughter has sound like mono/EBV, but they seem rather intense for someone her age.
Avatar m tn My 4 yr.old son had an allergic reaction to Omnicef. Hives all over and swollen hands, arms and feet. It's been 18 days and still gets a slight case of the hives . Within the last week( 3 times) he's had leg pain(muscel pain) joint pain. He has a hard time walking, usually the next day he can, it lasts anywhere from 12-24 hours. The 3 times he's had the leg pain he's either been swimming or riding a bike, took him to the hospital, blood work, x-rays and urine all came back fine.
373119 tn?1206933406 ). She will be seeing an ENT after she is done with this 2 weeks of omnicef for this nasty sinusitis.
Avatar f tn Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!
Avatar f tn I cannot take Rifampin because it contains Omnicef which I am allergic to, so I should be ok right?
1907191 tn?1468100974 We have holidays and plans, which of course if we were pregnant I would be happy to cancel, but it would still be a little awkward to be in the house the same time every day. Any advice much appreciated????
Panda Because most faucet filtration systems remove contaminants that are not likely to re-contaminate water unless it is mixed with unfiltered water, it should be good as long as refrigerated water, if placed in a closed container. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn its a sulfa) anyway please let me know if anyone has had experiences with this drug. And if u think this will be a good combo. I trust my LLD. And will do anything to get better. I am prepared for even bigger herx once I add the septra.. I am on everything except the Cefidinir(Omnicef) bc she is adding that after we add the Septra and sees if it is well tolerated.
Avatar n tn I would suggest you go and get checked to be sure. You should be checked not only for gonorrhea and chlamydial infection but also for white blood cells indicative of non-gonococcal urethritis. There are organisms other than gonorrhea and chlamydia which might cause a discharge, trichomonas being one of them. Again, while I think it is unlikely you have an STD, I would get checked, both to get the possibility off of you r mind and to start sorting out what is going on.
Avatar m tn t want to get into a big discussion on whether or not it is available. I just want to know if it NEEDS to be refrigerated. Does it? What if you don't keep it cool? I don't want to get into taking a med that needs this kind of special treatment because it opens the door for lessened potency, of course. Could someone get to the bottom of this refrigerate or not Thyrolar issue?
Avatar n tn Novalog insulin vials have an expiration date stamped on the side. Unopened insulin loses their efficiency once this date is reached, even when refrigerated.
Avatar n tn At first I didn't want him to get tubes either, but I think it is definetly better than him being on antibiotics constantly. It is scary thinking about your little one having "surgery" but I think in the long run it will be best. In terms of other things causing the infections, they drew blood to see if there were other problems, which there weren't. I never really knew when he had an ear infection because he wasn't really cranky, he would just get a really bad cold.
Avatar m tn A test for gonorrhea can also be done from either of the specimens I suggest. Depending on that your health care provider should be able to make decisions and recommendations regarding treatment. If these tests are negative, you do not need treatment. Hope this is helpful to you.
Avatar f tn 5 years ago protein was 8.4 and calcium was 10.3. I am not sure if I should be worried since everything else was fine. Let me know what ended up happening with you if you see this message. I’d greatly appreciate it.
Avatar n tn Clavamox can actually be stored outside of the refrigerated and doesn't lose potency or become harmful if not refrigerated for 2 weeks or more at moderate temperatures. If the temperature in your home is above 80 degrees it will lose potency quicker, but will not cause any harm.
446049 tn?1649005835 I just started taking this super probiotic that needs to be refrigerated. It's very expensive and local pharmacies don't carry it (buy direct). So I'm wondering if there is a less expensive probiotic that works as good as VSL3?
374593 tn?1257879950 Hello all! hope everyone is doing ok!! my beta finally made it down to normal! : ) and we will be getting back on the wagon to ttc again in a copule of weeks once AF gets here.. but of course it should probably arrive when we are out of town/state... so my question is that last time with the follistim i kept it refrigerated just to be careful.. but the RN's at my RE"s office say that it can be out of the fridge for 30 days..
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a sinus infection about 2 weeks ago----was put on an antibiotic which did not help. Four days ago, I was put on Omnicef. Granted, I did have lots of congestion and green mucous throughout these past 2 weeks; however, now, I have nothing dripping nor do I feel like anything is clogged "in there"....yet my cheek still throbs in pain occasionally. Yes, I am on prescription decongestants. Occasionally I will still cough up some mucous from my chest.
377012 tn?1283965435 Allergy could predispose your son to recurrent ear, nose and sinus infection, but that should not be assumed. His doctors might want to check to be sure he does not have some type of immunodeficiency. These immunodeficiency states can be transient, as with transient hypogammaglobulinemia of Infancy, congenital or acquired. Selective Immunoglobulin A (IgA) deficiency is uncommon but not rare and can predispose to ear and sinus infections.
