Hello im 46yr old mail lately ive been noticing that when i smoke ur stand in one spot for a long time i get sharp pains in my back shoulder and just recently my jaw.
ll stop making the crackling sound for a little bit when pressed again. Also getting pretty sharp pain by the ear and jaw area when yawning recently. If I press it torward my throat a bit, it'll hurt my throat. The doctors tell me it's mostly from smoking and stress. I also have a bit harder time swallowing saliva on that side, which the unaffected side I can feel the right side perfectly. Ever since this has been an issue , I have had a pretty sore neck as well.
At the very bottom of my right ribs, underneath a sharp stabbing like pain, and the right of the neck, top of shoulder kinda also recieves a sharp pain. Both sharp pains last only a minute if that. I usually walk around and just wait for it to leave. Only happens when i yawn or deep breathe and lasts not even a minute. Happens maybe once or twice if that a day. but after the pain leaves im back to feeling absolutly fine again.
I have been experiencing slight numbness, more of a tingling sensation on the right tip of my tongue when i yawn or open my jaw really wide. I don't have chronic numbness or any pain. I do have occasional ear pain. My dentist took a Panoramic xray, but it turned out a bit grainy. He states he has never heard of tingling in the tongue when yawning, he thinks it is nothing. I am unsure as to where to go now. Please help me.

m thinking it could be TMJ - which is a disorder of the jaw joint. It can cause many symptoms, including ear or jaw pain, as well as headaches, etc.
Do you ever catch yourself clenching your jaw? Does your jaw crack or catch when you try to open it wide, such as with yawning?
I would suggest starting with your family doctor - just to rule out any infection in the ear, however, if it is TMJ, the best person to treat it would be yoru dentist or oral surgeon.

What the heck is wrong with me? My ears hurt, especially my left one, when I first start to eat. It's as if my mouth watering brings it on, and is a sharp stinging pain. This only happens when I first start eating and then subsides. From time to time I'm experiencing a sharp, almost stabbing pain mainly in my right year that only last a few seconds. This seems to be brought on by turning my head or yawning.
I have been experiencing a numbness sensation in me left jaw. Only when I eat, though. Something in the left side of my face swells up and when I touch it, it feels almost numb. This has been going on for more than 6 mos. But, now just last night, my jaw has started hurting. I can forget about yawning b/c the more I open it the more it hurts. I can eat but my bites have to be small. This is really wierd to me. I don't know where to go for this. Dentist, Oral DR, Ear, nose, mouth?
I have been on Sertraline (Zoloft) for over 2 months now, for depression that's borderline bipolar, and I am still yawning and have gotten TMJ. I also keep having to take deep breaths until I can't take in any more air- not yawning-; I am clenching my jaw a lot still and having to open my mouth as wide as I can- again, not yawning- which makes me look a liiiiittle crazy! Anyone know of anything that might stop or alleviate these problems?
In addition, I seem to have developed pain on left side front teeth. It is quite sharp and when I press under the jaw at that point it is very painful. Motrin is helping but i worry about the long term effects. Not sure if there is infection or something serious that is causing this continuous pain.

ive been believing that i have migraine for quite a long time now. pain on one side of the head, usually the right side, that starts from the eye, then goes down to the jaw, back of the head, same side. before i took dolfenal 250 and now that im here in uae, im taking ponstan 500. that's the prescription of the physician that i consulted. along with taking the medicines, i sleep and most of the times i put cold pack on the headache.
it started when i was just walkin when my arms move back n forth like normal i felt somthin pinch on the back of my right elbo almost like i hit my funny bone, but it only lasted a split sec, then a few days later i noticed the back of the arm was num and a day or so after that i noticed a sharp pain / burn feeling almost like a bee sting, only when i moved the arm a certian way e.g when i streetch out while yawning or if i reach down from the chair to pick somthin up..
I also have alot of pain and tightness in the jaws in the mornings and it takes a while for me to be able to fully open my mouth. There is pain with chewing, yawning, talking and side movements of my jaw. I have also been getting alot of pretty bad headaches, I wake up in the middle of the night at times due to headaches and usually always have one when I awaken in the mornings.
